View Full Details of Eastbourne House Care HomeMy mum has been a resident at Eastbourne House for just over 3 years and I have been very happy with the care she has received. She has dementia, and the staff have always been very kind, patient and attentive to her needs. The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and I have always felt reassured that she is in safe hands. Unfortunately due to the rising costs I have had to make the difficult decision to move her. This is no way a reflection on the quality of care which has been excellent. I would highly recommend Eastbourne House to anyone looking for a compassionate and well run home.
The staff at Eastbourne House is outstanding. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They provide the best care to all the residents could wish for. I used to work in a care home and this one is the best I've seen. The manager is one amazing lady. The rapport she has with all her staff is amazing to see. Everyone is always happy.
Attended afternoon tea on the 11th December to see some of our old golfing friends. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the tea was absolutely lovely.
I organised an afternoon tea at Eastbourne House for two friends who are residents. I was able to attend with 10 other friends of mine and the residents to enjoy a social get together before Christmas. The staff were excellent, on hand for serving tea and coffee and making sure all was going well. It was very well organised and enjoyed by all of us. This is the third one I have arranged but certainly won't be the last. Thank you.
In June I had to make the difficult decision of arranging respite care for my 93 year old mam. Having looked at many other care homes in the area I decided on Eastbourne House this is the best care home in the area. The staff go above and beyond to make sure she is looked after and well cared for. She has a beautiful room which is extremely welcoming and always kept spotless. Just knowing that my mam is safe and has 24 hour care I know I have made the right choice. She is happy and content has made some lovely friends who she sits and chats to all day over looking the sea instead of being at home extremely lonely and having no one to talk to after my dad was sadly taken away from her and put in a different care home. She has settled really well and loves sitting in the lounge where there are always plenty of activities going on to keep her busy. This is a beautiful care home where all of residents are treated with kindness dignity and loved by staff thank you to you all.
Eastbourne House goes above and beyond to care for their residents. My mother went into Eastbourne during the first months of lockdown and we were not allowed to visit, she was made to feel like part of the family straight away and she is loved by all the carers. I do feel more interaction with Grace House is needed. There are new murals on the wall which brighten up the resident's days and there should be more and there should be more interaction gadgets for the residents to use to keep their minds stimulated. It would be lovely if there were 3D activities on the walls, all the residents are well cared for and safe and there are some carers working in Eastbourne House who do more than go above and beyond. They are Angels.
Good Afternoon. Whilst sitting in my mum's room, I have noticed the beautiful murals on the walls and how many of the residents interact with them. They are completely taken with them. However I have learnt that they are to be taken down as they don't match with the decor, surely as a dementia unit the stimulation for the residents and how they interact with things is majorly important. To go back to the beige walls would be a major step backwards as the calming effect and wonderment plus interaction is a sight to behold. To have things surrounding the residents that actually invoke joy instead of them being sat in chairs or wandering aimlessly up and down the corridors, give them something to walk to . This would be a step forward and bring your facility into being an elite care home rather than just another run of the mill sub standard home. This is not an hotel after all it is their home!
My mother lived at Eastbourne House from July 2023 until her death from a stroke in March 2024. During this time, she was made to feel incredibly welcome and at home and the staff seemed genuinely attached to her. They kept us informed all the time, made sure she had choice and control but encouraged her to do new things. She particularly loved being read to, which they arranged for her. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Many care homes are cold and unwelcoming, but this one is warm and caring.
My mother spent her last few weeks of life at Eastbourne House, where she was safe, warm and cared for and provided with all the things that you would want for someone you love. What has made Eastbourne House stand out has been the care that they have shown us as family members, recognising the significance of the initial decision for us and after her death taking time to speak with us and show us that mum was known and valued.
All staff are excellent. Very respectful of my mother and kind. The place is kept very clean, which of course is important. Best care home in the area by far.
The home and staff give good value for money and have an excellent level of care.
The care received for my mother is first-class. Her medical needs are always covered with care and compassion. The surroundings are excellent and the staff all pull together to give a warm and friendly environment.
I feel I am settled here and looked after really well. Staff are friendly, courteous, kind and helpful. The dining experience is excellent and I feel all staff ensure that you have the best quality of life possible. For those who want there is always lots to do.
Having visited this home on previous occasions I always am struck by the warmth, cleanliness and happy staff. The family atmosphere is easy to feel and the staff do not appear stressed and are always happy to help. The facilities and standards are easy to see and read. The home appears safe and certainly, the residents we saw were content and happy.
My mother enjoyed her last three months at Eastbourne. She had a pleasant room with a large patio door that went onto the garden, which gave her constant interest. She enjoyed interacting with the staff, who were all friendly and attentive. She enjoyed the food and the social activities. To me, the atmosphere was always calm and considerate. Thank you for your support to me and my mum though her last few days.
When choosing a care home end of life care is not always the first thing that comes to mind. The end of life care at Eastbourne House was outstanding for my mother and also for the care and help offered to me. The coordination by the home with the Practice Nurse and District Nurses were also extremely good. I witnessed the care sector performing at its very best despite the genuine pressure they undoubtedly face.
My aunt was reluctant to go to any care home but the welcome the staff gave her, and the care and attention she received helped her to quickly settle in. She loved the sea view from her room. She enjoyed the social activities (and the hairdresser). When her time came the staff took great care of her and the family who were with her. A lovely place to stay.
Very accommodating for my mother's admission. The staff were extremely caring, attentive and helpful throughout. The facilities were extremely good, offering a high standard of comfort and respect for the individual's needs. Individually the admissions team and senior staff were approaching open and kept us updated on my mother's care. There was some issue at times with my mother's meal preps for her dietary needs.
My father lived at Eastbourne House for the last 11 months of his life, sadly dying in December 2022. Throughout his stay, all of the staff were simply wonderful with him. The carers were so thoughtful and considerate in all their dealings with him, respected and preserved his dignity as he became increasingly frail and throughout his last days. I cannot speak too highly of the care and attention he received throughout the period of his stay. He was very comfortable and very happy indeed at Eastbourne House. Thank you to everyone involved, from the cleaning and laundry staff to the kitchen staff, carers and administration/management. You all do a marvellous job.
My father has been in Eastbourne House for a year now and is settled and content. The staff are fantastic, caring and pleasant at all times.
