View Full Details of De Lucy HouseBoth my parents have been at De Lucy for nearly 4 years. Although they have very different needs, both are treated with kindness, compassion and care. The staff are brilliant and take their time to fully understand the requirements of all the residents. Many go beyond what their job requires of them.
Always when I visited I was impressed with all aspects of how the home was run. Calmness, professionalism, staff on hand to answer any questions. A nursing or care home is only as good as the staff working in it. The staff I came into contact with were lovely. Even more so at the end of life time.
Overall this is an excellent care home with very kind and friendly staff who are very helpful and good humoured. The home is very professionally managed with very organised activities and good support from the local NHS. Residents are treated with patience and compassion. Although getting entry as a visitor can sometimes be slow and the food is apparently not always serviced as hot it is could be. I am overall very pleased with the service provided. I do however wish it was less expensive.
I cannot recommend De Lucy Care Home enough. From the day my great aunt moved in she was given compassion and care. The manager is lovely and the staff are amazing and kind. The home itself is spotless clean and the amount of activity's on offer is amazing. I visited everyday and was made to feel at home and like one of the family. When my aunt sadly passed away the manager sat with me and reassured me all would be ok. The respect they showed my aunt after her passing was also way beyond what i expected. I cannot thank them enough for all they done for my aunt and also me.
My mother has been staying at De Lucy House for nearly 18 months. She was a reluctant resident! However, she has settled in really well and the staff have achieved this with their kindness and compassion. The home is lovely with lots of places to sit alone or be part of a group. The activities are amazing. When choosing a care home is a real challenge and I looked at many and all were fine, however, De Lucy House has proven to be an amazing find.
Your care of my mother was faultless. Many thanks to every member of your team. Also for the care shown to our family.
My Godmother felt comfortable and safe at De Lucy House. She was very fond of her carers, and throughout the food was excellent. She was very impressed with the management and thought the home was well run (an accolade indeed from a retired Head Teacher!) I was reassured that my Godmother was happy and well looked after - staff were caring, and respectful and maintained her dignity to the end. She had a wonderful send-off!
This is the third home I have tried for my mother and finally, I know it's the last. The staff are all very friendly and professional. The food is varied and of a very good standard, unlike others we have stayed at. The manager and staff are all excellent. She has a very comfortable room and it is kept clean for her. All in all, I can finally relax.
Following advice from a hospital Doctor, I was able to come and live in De Lucy House over three and a half years ago now as I was unable to live on my own any longer, following the death of my husband in 2018 which led to my mental health illness. (Anxiety). It has been a joy for me to live here and I now look on De Lucy as my home, from which I never want to move. I was made to feel part of the De Lucy Family from the moment I was welcomed here and I have the reassurance that this can be my 'forever home', even if I can't afford to pay the fees any longer, thanks to a charity, which owns and runs our homes. I am given as much independence and support now as I need and want because thanks to God for using our amazing staff and carers, 90% of my mental health has been restored and my Physical health is good for my age too. So please don't hesitate to contact De LucyHouse. You'll be given the welcome that I was given and never regret it.
My mother has been a resident at De Lucy House for nearly 6 months. The management of De Lucy House is exceptional. Every aspect of care has been excellent and the staff couldn't do more for my mother or me. I would highly recommend De Lucy House.
My mum passed away recently after spending more than 5 years living at De Lucy House. During her time there her needs changed significantly but she was always looked after with the greatest care and respect. Initially, it was the surroundings and activities that appealed but as COVID struck that all changed but they still managed to keep mum safe and even when she fell over and broke her hip they worked tirelessly with her to get her back up and on her feet, back to chasing them down the corridor! I would say De Lucy House doesn't feel like a care home, it feels like staying with family in a hotel but it's the staff that really make the place under the Manager's excellent leadership. All the staff got to know mum so well that they knew what was normal for her and how to get a smile from her whilst keeping her safe and well. It's not the cheapest care home in the area but I think it's the best quality and wouldn't hesitate to recommend De Lucy House to anyone who asks. Thank you so much for everything.
My dad lives in DeLucy House and has done so for over 2years the care love and support he is shown are second to none he is supported in every way to make sure he can still live his life to the fullest our family is always made to feel very welcome and involved.
My mum has been living at De Lucy House since February 2023 and is so happy to be there. The staff are so thoughtful and supportive and they all have a very positive attitude. The whole place has a very happy atmosphere.
My mother moved inti De Lucy House about a month ago, from her own flat in supported housing. I have visited 3/4 times a week and evidenced good practice by all staff members on each visit. Care staff are very kind and professional especially when dealing with very vulnerable residents. Mother has settled in well, facilitated by the staff group. She is now safe and had opportunities for social contact and activities. The physical environment is very pleasing and well cared for.
My father died in De Lucy House at the end of August; he had lived there for seven years. De Lucy House had always cared wonderfully for Dad. In his last week of life and his death, he was shown love, care, dignity and respect. All staff involved worked so, so hard, above and beyond. They respected the wishes of the family and they supported us throughout with the same care and love they showed Dad. Thank you.
My friend's care at De Lucy House is above and beyond exceptional. My friend is a very private person, and the staff respect that. They ensure her needs are met, nothing is too much trouble for them. She has a beautiful room overlooking the gardens, which are looked after by the fantastic domestic team. Coming to De Lucy House for a few years was a big decision for her, but as she often reminds me, she has never looked back!
Excellent carers and staff. They go well above their call of duty.
I am very grateful to the De Lucy team for making it easy for my mum to transfer here from where she was in hospital with a broken hip.
Mum continues to receive an excellent standard of care. Staff know her well and I have always observed them to be kind and friendly towards her. I too have found all members of staff to be supportive towards me and my family members, which is much valued. I find this is a very well-run home, led admirably by the manager, who ensures the needs of her residents come first. Staff, family and residents work in partnership.
