View Full Details of Stainton Lodge Care CentreDad has settled well into Stainton Lodge Care Centre from day 1. The staff and management are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. Dad is well cared for and all his needs are met. The activities for residents are second to none with lots going one. So happy with Dads care. Thank you all at Stainton Lodge, long may it continue.
My father moved into one of the ward at Stainton Lodge Care Centre mid December. He moved from another care home where we were very concerned about his safety and welfare. Since the initial meeting with a member of staff prior to Dad moving to Stainton and today (4 weeks later) we are over the moon with the standard of care that Dad is receiving. The staff are amazing, they are kind, considerate and compassionate. As a family we know he is safe and well cared for in an appropriate environment with staff who are confident and competent to care for Dads needs. The staff team are patient and at times when Dad can be challenging they don't give up but try through kindness and compassion to achieve dad's support in meeting his care needs. The meals are wonderful. Management and senior team visible and present and responsive to needs. Today we received notification that Dad can stay permanently in Stainton Care Centre. This is such a relief. Thank you to all the team for your wonderful care and kindness.
I was looking to move my friend last year as he wasn't settled at all in previous care home. It was a huge decision on my shoulders and I am so pleased I chose Stainton Lodge Care Centre. The bedrooms are lovely large and airy with en-suite facilities. There is a Spacious TV lounge and nice dining room where residents can also sit and chat. There is a huge comfortable reception area where family and friends can take residents off wards and make tea/coffee. I cannot praise the staff enough. They go over and above and nothing is too much trouble. All staff, whatever their job, remember residents names and make a point of using them. I couldn't be happier with the care he receives and can't thank everyone enough.
I was met by the social worker and your nurse. It was in relation to my wife's annual care review. I found the experience very professional and was treated with respect and dignity. We all left the meeting with an action plan in place, which is now in motion.
Experienced and caring friendly staff. The care centre offers good facilities with regular alternatives. Fun activities such as singing and dancing which my mum really enjoys! Lovely relaxing private areas are available to sit and talk to relatives. Excellent hairdressing facility with a lovely friendly hairdresser who is really good with my mum, something she enjoys visiting regularly.
My mum is happy and well looked after. Thanks go to the staff.
Very happy with the care home, lovely manager and friendly staff. Can't do enough for the resident or myself. The food is exceptional. I can relax at home knowing my partner is okay and well looked after.
I am extremely happy with the care and support my father receives! The staff are amazing and always take the time to talk about how my dad is doing and they are extremely attentive with the residents! The home has a lovely feel, as soon as you walk through the door, it has such a homely feel. There's always lots of entertainment provided for the residents. The home came highly recommended to myself and I can highly recommend it to anyone! Best care home I have visited!
Overall experience with the home is satisfactory. There is always a warm welcome from staff from reception to the ward. I have raised concerns on certain issues over time but they have been noted and dealt with.
We were looking for a home for my mother-in-law near our home. We were bringing her from Norfolk to Middlesbrough. We looked at several places for her. Stainton Lodge Care Centre was the 1st place we looked. The manager and deputy manager stayed behind after work so that my husband could be there to look around. We walked into the car park after our visit and said, 'are we going to bother looking anywhere else?' The staff had made my mother-in-law feel welcome and safe. They very quickly learnt what she needed. They are always available if we have a question. Everybody has made what could have been really difficult/upsetting easier to handle
I was so lucky to find this home for my husband. It's such an emotional rollercoaster to realise that someone you love has needs that are more than you can provide. The care my husband has received over the months he has now been resident there has really helped me to see that this was the right choice. The staff are absolutely wonderful and go above and beyond to help my husband settle and are so good to him and very kind to me. My husband is always clean and tidy when I visit, receiving the personal assistance needed to wash, shave, dress etc. His room is always clean and tidy. My husband has special dietary needs and his meal menu is catered to this. I really can't thank all the staff there enough.
Can’t praise this care centre and staff enough for the excellent care they give to my mother, their standards of care are second to none, meet my mam's needs 100%. Mam never settled anywhere previously but is now in her second year in Stainton, staff and management will go out there way to accommodate service users' needs. It's not only a care centre is home-from-home care. This is a place where your loved ones are respected and cared for 24/7, a place where you can visit your loved ones and feel part of a family.
My mother was placed in Stainton Lodge, Ullswater Suite in May 2023 as a result of a safeguarding order. It was a very upsetting and stressful time for all the family, however, since her admission, Mother has settled into what is a warm, caring and friendly home. In September 2023, Mother became very ill with a slight stroke and pneumonia. The vigilant staff called 999 and Mother was admitted to hospital where she was treated with antibiotics and fluids. After a week Mother was transferred back to Stainton Lodge. Unfortunately she had gone off her legs. With physio, aids and the determination and dedication of the staff, Mother is now mobile again and enjoying a lovely quality of life. My family and myself will be forever grateful to this amazing team.
My son is very happy and thriving living at Stainton Lodge. He is given excellent care from a dedicated care team, where he has a lovely well decorated ensuite room. Therefore when I go home I feel reassured he is happy and well cared for.
The family can not thank the staff for the way they helped Mam through her final days, the care shown by all levels from the kitchen, housekeeping and care workers on the Coniston unit was lovely to see. The home is going through some changes that seem to be heading in the right direction.
Really happy with the care my father gets. Overall he seems like he enjoys being there (don’t worry, I know he definitely has his moments). All the staff are so friendly, I sometimes have a bad visit, and there’s always someone’s shoulder for me to cry on! Just one point, all the staff know my name; it would be nice if they all had name badges, so we can know all their names, as sometimes you don’t see the same girls for a while, depending on my visits.
Firstly, when I said February '23, that's when I got out. I had previously been in there for the last two years. All in all, the staff were amazing, empathetic and focused on their goals. For me, that was to be living independently again. For others, this may just be to have your needs met and be as happy as can be. Anyway, without rambling on too much, it was a lovely place with lovely staff, and I feel proud to have this opportunity to say that they helped me to find me.
I have always found the care staff to be very dedicated under difficult conditions. There has been a marked change in all aspects of the home and a general buzz of activity from everyone concerned. The rooms are due to be updated, and that is needed; the rooms completed are lovely and welcoming. Like any situation when new management takes over, it takes a while for things to work, but everyone is trying hard to succeed.
I find the care and support provided for my wife to be of an extremely high standard.
Although my mum was only there a short time, the care she received was unbelievable. They showed her and all her family care and compassion in the last months of her life. They treat her with dignity and could not have done any more to make her stay there as happy as it was. I really can't thank them enough for what they did for Mum, in particular, towards the end of her life. The staff on the Ullswater unit are some of the nicest, most caring people I have had the pleasure to know. Thank you seems so inadequate for what they did, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.
