Staff at the day centre seem caring and thoughtful to the members that
attend. If members were at the day centre for the hours advertised and
agreed I would say it was a very good service. However, this service is
provided to family members to help gain normality in their own life it
doesn't really deliver on this. We chose to have transport provided
(extra cost), the taxi originally started collecting my Mum around 9 am
which was perfect, after attending the day centre for a couple of months
this has dropped back to collecting her at 10 am and now on some days my
Mum has been delivered back at home by 3.30pm, not the 4.30/5pm which
was the situation at first. They have also increased the cost of the day
centre even though the hours attended seem to have reduced. When I've
questioned this I've been advised by the operations manager "we
expect our members to arrive around 10 am and return home after 3
pm". Therefore not the 9.15am - 4.30pm as marketed on the DACC website.
