View Full Details of Beechwood LodgeMy partner's grandmother is in this care home. I have had both of my grandparents in other care homes in different parts of the country. Neither one of those care homes comes close to the standard that Beechwood Lodge provides. All the staff are friendly, professional and genuinely care about the residents. The activities that they put on are very stimulating for the residents and I can honestly say I would love to spend time doing all the activities myself! We are very much looking for the Elvis tribute coming up. Keep up the good work!
Comfortable, safe and warm environment. Quick, effective procedures dealing with falls and illness. Great varied food. Staff (mixed feelings). Some great, experienced staff. Some new/agency staff that lack motivation and energy. Big thank you to the activities coordinators that work so hard.
An absolutely amazing home. I wouldn't trust any other with the care of my grandma. The manager and all the staff at Beechwood Lodge are truly amazing and look after my grandma in ways I could no longer do at home. She is always well dressed and in a good mood every day when I visit, due to the staff constantly keeping her occupied and happy. Thank you so much for everything you do, you're all angels.
Good staff and care, residents well looked after. Good activities and inclusion of other family members. Safe care and good communication, residents considered and included. Residents seem happy and content and well looked after.
I cannot say how much the care staff at Beechwood Lodge have done to help my husband. The home did everything they could to help him get mobile. Without them, he would still be struggling. They have also made sure I was looking after myself. I would like to say we picked the best place to have him under the care staff there.
The staff at Beechwood Lodge are very friendly, extremely helpful. The manager is very approachable and the door is always open and always makes time to discuss anything. Mum always looks lovely, the staff are very attentive and caring. Took Mum out one day shopping and she actually asked to go back, Mum never fails to keep telling me how lovely it is. They are always doing different things to keep residents entertained, on many occasions, they involve their family and friends, we are always made to feel very welcome. It's very reassuring to know Mum is happy, well looked after and made to feel safe.
Have just been to a Father's Day celebration. We had a lovely meal and drinks, residents fully enjoyed the treat. Staff were very attentive and looked after everyone. It's so nice to have special times with our loved ones. Thank you.
The staff are all very friendly, caring and polite. They are very observant and ready to assist when necessary. The manager and her deputy are always available and helpful. They are more than willing to answer any questions and offer advice when needed. My wife took a while to settle in the home but the staff were helpful at all times. At first, whenever I took her out in my car and she was reluctant to go back into the home they would come out and calm her down and encourage her to return. They very quickly found out her likes and dislikes and were quick to calm her down whenever she became agitated due to her condition. Before I committed her to this care home I spent a lot of time visiting other homes and this one really stood out from the others. It was clean airy, and bright and everyone was very welcoming. I was shown the rooms and communal areas without having to make a prior appointment. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home to future tenants.
Always smells clean and looks tidy. Staff are friendly, helpful and have a positive attitude. Rooms are smart and nice bathrooms, clean. Mum seems contended. Entertainment for residents, seated exercise and applying nail varnish etc. Clothes often go missing.
My sister has been at Beechwood Lodge for 6 months or so, very good and gratefully pleased.
Always find staff caring and helpful. Room is clean. Disappointed that my friend's teeth went missing and she is stressed without her front teeth. Should have been sorted by now.
My Dad was admitted to Beechwood Lodge in March 2020, just before lockdown. He was unable to weight bare, lives with Alzheimer’s and had therefore become unable to live independently. The Manager of Beechwood ensured that Dad transitioned painlessly into their care and he settled quickly into the Home. Living in Scotland meant that I was unable to see him as often as I would’ve liked to due to the restrictions both north and south of the Border. When I eventually got to visit him, it was such a relief to see he was really happy - “just like a five-star hotel” he told me. I know and am grateful that he’s well looked after by professional, friendly and helpful staff. He’s always dressed smartly, shirt and tie, polished shoes - it was good to see that his personal standards have been kept up. He looked really content and well. I have no hesitation in recommending Beechwood Lodge to anyone looking for a caring environment for their family member to live in.
My wife has been in Beechwood Lodge since November 2020, she suffers from Parkinson's disease. I have recently had a review of her condition and the care she is being given by our parkinson's nurse who visited her in the home. She gave a glowing report of the care being given. That endorses my view of the care being given. The home has responded well to the restrictions imposed by COVID and now allows weekly face to face visits The staff are very friendly and address any concerns I have quickly. The management are very approachable.
Both my parents lived at Beechwood Lodge up until my Father died a couple of years ago. My mother still lives there and is struggling with dementia. The staff, from the management down, have been great with my Mum and were with my Dad even at his most challenging times. Mum is well looked after and is always cheerful and happy despite the difficulties of lockdowns, which gives me some peace of mind living 300 miles away from her. The staff looked after her last year when she was diagnosed with cancer, taking her to all her appointments in various hospitals when I was unable to travel due to lockdowns. We can also video chat whenever we want to which is very helpful. Beechwood is a modern, clean and now, well-managed care home.
Highly recommended. Excellent levels of care and facilities. Staff are committed to providing the best care. Staff know residents really well and they are really responsive to their needs. Communication systems are effective.
My mother has been in the care of Beechwood Lodge for nearly two and a half years now and she is very happy there. The team truly do care and do their utmost to ensure the residents feel cared for and at ease and communication with me on the whole is good. Moving any family member into care is not a easy decision for anyone but they helped make this easier for both us and mum. Out of all the homes we looked at prior to this this was by far the best of the lot. From the smaller units/sections meaning better overview through to the rooms all having their own bathrooms, this was key for my mother. Covid of course threw in a whole new curve ball and stopped visits, but they worked well with me to ensure I could keep in touch with mum through video calls, later pod visits and now face to face. Though its been difficult as they had to stop outside entertainment and hairdresser etc. the team pulled together to do their best to keep residents entertained and looking smart.
My husband has been in the home since September 2020, he has advanced dementia and he can be quite challenging at times. The staff have all worked extremely hard to find the best solutions to his issues and he is very settled now. He always looks clean and tidy and is very well fed, he has never asked to leave or shown any signs of distress with his care. The home itself is very relaxed, although entry/exit is very tightly controlled. This gives me huge peace of mind as my husband is subject to a DoLS and cannot go out on his own, as he would be very much at risk of harm as he now has no concept of danger from traffic etc. The staff, manager/receptionist/carers are all very caring and quickly got to know my husband and someone is always available to let me know how he is. I am always kept informed of any incidents, such as falls, he tends to try to sit on inappropriate pieces of furniture, his health and welfare is regularly reviewed and action taken if needed.
My father has been in Beechwood Lodge for coming up to six years. The staff have been truly amazing and look after my dad like he is their own. The manager has transformed the home since just before the pandemic and continues to do so. My dad loves it here and they care so well. I would recommend anyone to look at Beechwood as a home for their loved ones to be safe, entertained and treated as family.
Our mum started living at Beechwood Lodge just over 18 months ago after a rapid illness and weight loss basically due to not looking after herself properly. When mum went into Beechwood she was just over 6 stone in weight, she now weighs 9.7 stones. The care and attention mum receives is wonderful. Each and every member of staff are lovely and look after the residents with such a personal touch it’s as if it’s their own relatives. Mum has a fabulous relationship with them all, from the carers to the cleaners, laundry staff to the caterers and including the management. There are regular group activities and music and singing etc. A hairdresser has just been allowed back into the home after COVID prevented this for over a year which mum loves and until COVID was a weekly event, there’s even a salon in the home for the stylist. We take mum her weekly treats, but the food is certainly a good standard and all the residents are well catered for. I would not hesitate to recommend this for your loved ones.
Very clean, modern premises. The staff are caring and extremely friendly. My mum has good interaction/communication with the staff and has expressed satisfaction with the overall conditions such as premises and food.
