View Full Details of Magdalen Park Care HomeI came from home after making the decision to move and I have really been surprised by the experience. I have been involved in many activities and events and supported the Christmas Fair to raise money for the residents' fund, I like that I can get involved in these things. I like that I can go for a walk in the local area on my own and come back to a friendly face. I have made some friends with other residents and staff. My room is spacious and clean and I have been able to bring belongings and make it homely.
The whole team at Magdalen care. The managers, carers, housekeeping, activities, catering, hairdressing and maintenance teams are all very caring people and create a lovely atmosphere in which my Mum has flourished for over 3 years. Overall the care and support that Mum receives is fantastic. It's a credit to everyone that she is so settled, relaxed and happy.
I have been visiting Magdalen Park residential care home for over 4 years and it comes highly recommended. The residents are treated with love and dignity and are always treated with respect and well looked after and clean. The rooms and facilities are always clean and well-maintained. All the staff are brilliant and help in every way they can. The food is well prepared and presented in a lovely dining room if residents are well enough to eat in the dining room otherwise they are helped with food in their rooms. As a visitor, I find it very welcoming and everyone is very friendly.
My grandma receives the highest quality care at Magdalen Park. Staff members are friendly, caring and professional. My grandma settled in well after moving from a previous care home and we can rest our minds knowing she is safe and well looked after. She enjoys the peace and quiet, activities and the facilities. My grandma is always well presented and personal care is prioritised. Carers are constantly giving out drinks and snacks throughout the day and meals are of a high standard. Our only regret is that she didn't come to live here sooner!
My dear friend was a resident at Magdalen Park Care Home for 4 years, he sadly passed away in June, so sorry for the late review but I really wanted to leave a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Magdalen Park for looking after him so well. The staff really went above and beyond for my friend, he was a character to say the least but they looked after all aspects of his care. He lost his wife many years ago, he mourned her daily, when the staff learnt of how sad he was, the manager took him to the local cemetery so he could lay some flowers at her graveside, as his mobility declined she went to the cemetery herself to lay some flowers, as a friend it meant the world to see him so happy. The staff always made sure he had his cans of bitter on tap, he would like one with his meals and he also liked to sit in the reception area with a can of bitter and listening to music, it was so nice when I visited to see him so content. Thank you all for the excellent care.
I cannot express my thanks enough for the wonderful care given to my friend by the amazing staff at Magdalen Park Care Home. I have been visiting her twice a week for nearly two years and have always been made very very welcome. The end of life care was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Managers and staff went over and above to make sure we were all cared for making sure we went home to rest but all the time keeping us informed of any changes. The two amazing managers and wonderful staff made the passing of my dear friend much more bearable. I know my friend would say a big Thank you to you all so on her behalf, Thank you.
After 22 months at Magdalen Park, my dearest mother passed away. During the time spent there, both my mother and indeed myself came to see many of the staff as more than mere employees, such was the relationship that developed after nearly 2 years. I cannot speak highly enough of the care my mother received at the end and the support that I did, I couldn't have coped without them. More than this is the support I have received since I lost my mum. Although I may feel intrusive now mum has gone, staff have always found the time to support me even though I know how busy they are. At the worst time of my life, I'm not sure I could have coped without their support and will be forever grateful for the level of care my mum received from staff at every single level. I sincerely cannot thank them enough for everything they have done and would recommend Magdalen Park to anyone in need of their care.
Just writing to say how much my husband and I enjoyed the D-Day lunch and celebrations. So thoughtfully organised with lovely food and staff, residents and visitors all seem to be having such a good time. And the amazing staff who turned up in 1940s dresses and hair!
So sorry for the delay in reviewing Magdalen Park. I have nothing but praise for the staff and management for their kindness shown to us. We were made welcome from the day Mam came on 24th April 23. To the day she sadly passed away 7th Oct 23. There were always drinks and biscuits when we arrived. They looked after our mam with all the care they could given that our mam had dementia and lung cancer. Our mam's room was spotless and we spent a lot of time in her room as a family. Towards the sad end of our mam's life, the staff were brilliant towards us. Mam got the best of care. The girls even came in on their days off to sit with Mam when we had to go home. Thank you to you all, you deserve it.
My brother was cared for January-April 7th 2024. During that time his care was excellent with all staff attentive and caring in the extreme. The standards set in this care home are a credit to the manager and her staff and my family will be eternally grateful that, for the last few weeks of my brother's life, he received quality care of the highest order. Our prayers and thanks are offered to Magdalen Park.
A big thank you to all the day and night carers for care and attention, all managed by a manager with a very friendly and efficient personality. PS my praise goes to all at Magdalen Park Care Home.
My mum has lived at Magdalen Park Care Home for nearly two years. My mum has Alzheimer's and I cannot fault the care she receives. Mum is so cared for in every aspect. Magdalen Park is a really lovely place, beautifully clean, with lovely, friendly staff who go above and beyond to care for all the residents who live there. It has a lovely, warm, calming atmosphere. I would highly recommend Magdalen Park to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.
My father-in-law became a resident for emergency respite whilst my mother in law was seriously ill, I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the place was. His room was stunning with a balcony and beautiful view. The caring team were attentive and genuinely care for their residents, the food looks like something from a good quality restaurant and all homemade. I could not wish for him to be in a better place, he loves the food, activities and interaction with the staff and residents. My mother-in-law is still not so good so he goes in regularly for day care at his request, this is great for the family knowing and understanding how happy he is whilst giving the respite and break my mother-in-law and family need. My father-in-law has dementia, his requirements and needs are always fulfilled at Magdalen Park and he genuinely seems happy to be there.
Visited a few times to see family friends and there's always such a warm welcome, staff are attentive and the residents are well looked after and happy. Great facilities and so much planned to keep them entertained. A fun, happy environment to be in. Highly recommended.
Our nana was a resident at Magdalen Park after being diagnosed with dementia and then inoperable lung cancer. She was cared for with great respect and love during her stay there. As a family, we were also made very welcome and offered drinks on arrival. Sadly, Nana has now passed away, and we cannot thank the staff and management enough for their support at this difficult time.
My mother went into Magdalen Park Care Home in April 2023, sadly due to inoperable cancer and dementia. The staff went over and above to settle her into the home as she really could not understand why she was there. Over the months, they embraced not only my mum but the entire family, offering refreshments and general kindness on every visit she sadly passed away at the beginning of the month and her end of life care was very caring and kind. Staff even came in on their day off to say goodbye to her. We cannot thank the home enough for their support at a very difficult time.
Mum was made very much to feel at home when she moved into Magdalen Park. Her room is spacious, well furnished, and comfortable. There are so many activities to do there, including a bistro, shop and hairdressers within the building. Outside there are so many places to sit and relax with lovely views. But most of all the entire care team make everyone feel welcome and are so caring and dedicated towards making my mum's life there as enjoyable, stimulating and comfortable as can be.
The home always has the residents as its priority. Staff are welcoming, accommodating, and attentive. Where issues have been raised, the management team have provided assurance and appropriate action has been taken in a timely manner. I am happy to leave my relative in their more than capable hands. Well done to all.
My dad, who is living with dementia, is thriving whilst in respite at Magdalen Park Care Home, the manager and team have all been excellent in the quality of care that is being provided. The home is a real home from home for my dad, he's only 61 years old and there's a lovely community feel. Always a warm welcome for family members, especially my children who love visiting. His dietary needs are being taken care of as are his personal care needs, he is washed, shaven and dressed smartly which is how my dad has always been. I'm very pleased with the care and wouldn't hesitate for my dad to stay for future respite at Magdalen Park. Thank you to all.
My father-in-law is currently in the home on respite, due to a family emergency, he has stayed much longer than anticipated and the staff have been able to facilitate this. Since arriving he has gained weight and is enjoying meals. He is supported to access activities, whilst he doesn't always want to attend staff will encourage him to join in activities and once there will enjoy. He looks well-kept and clean-shaven on visits and his room is clean and tidy. Staff have a good rapport with him and he has started engaging in more conversation in recent weeks.
