View Full Details of Barchester Woodland View Care HomeVery helpful, good standard of accommodation. Staff are friendly and encouraging in my respite care.
Excellent care from all the staff who could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much bother. All staff were very friendly. Everything was clean and tidy. Room was cleaned thoroughly every day.
Mum had been residing at Barchester Woodland View Care Home for nine months and really enjoyed meeting the other residents and the many activities the home arranged to keep their residents entertained. When Mum's time came, the nursing staff were fantastic in making her comfortable and all other staff were very respectful and supportive of us, as her family. Thank you.
Another delicious meal. Gammon, pineapple, roast potatoes and vegetables, a definite favourite! The head chef delivered the lunch trolley with a smile and always makes time to talk to the residents, wave and brighten their day.
My mother-in-law who is 98 years of age and suffering from severe vascular dementia resides here. All the staff are caring and courteous. I find the environment at Woodland View excellent for her needs. Her room is always spotless and clean. Every effort is made to safeguard her well-being.
Layout is spacious, modern, secure and clean. Facilities are plentiful and attractive. Large garden areas easily accessible. A lot of thought goes into planning activities. Staff are well-trained, experienced and professional. They make a determined effort to recognise and respond to the care and nursing needs of a resident unable to communicate in any way. The meals are well-planned, well-cooked, well-presented, tasty and nutritious. The management is effective at ensuring the home operates to a high standard.
I find Woodland View to be an outstanding care home, which I highly recommend. The home is led by a most impressive manager who is supported by an excellent deputy manager and efficient administration team. The care team are highly motivated and dediated to the residents and their personal needs. Their empathy and patient interaction is admirable, this, no doubt reflects the high quality and expectations of the management team. My mother is 98 with advanced dementia, she could not be in a better place.
The room, bed, bathroom are all very good. The garden is pleasant. The cleaners, laundry, dining room service are very good. The carers are usually good, often excellent. In a year, I have only had cause to complain to the management twice and the matter has been promptly dealt with.
Excellent. Enjoying my time. Feel secure. Staff are very helpful and pleasant.
As a family, we have found Barchester Woodland View Care Home to be a very caring home for our mother to live in. Many of the activities she has been encouraged to take part in and the overall experience has been rewarding for both her and us. It's great to see Mother looking well, eating well and smiting.
I am not able to recommend this care home as we had a number of concerns about the standard of care that this establishment offers. We have raised our complaints/concerns with the corporate owner and whilst there was a lot of apologies they have brushed these away failing to respond to some of the issues we have raised. Lack of staff on the premises does appear to be an issue. Overall cleanliness of my mother's room also an issue which was not addressed.
Everyone I've encountered in this home has been helpful, kind and professional. The person I visit here is making steady progress and everyone is both encouraging and supporting the recovery process.
Since my arrival at Barchester Care Home, I have felt quite at home. The atmosphere is happy and I already feel quite at home. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Everywhere is clean and cared for like my own home was before coming here. All being well I hope I shall be here until (an expression I use) pop my clogs. Many thanks for everything.
Mum is thriving at Barchester Woodland View Care Home. The home matches her needs so well. I have been so impressed by the activities programme which has provided such a lovely range of activities, both inside and outside the home. It's years since Mum has participated in so many social activities at Christmas! The staff do everything they can to make family and friends welcome when they come to visit Mum. We are so pleased for Mum.
The care my mother receives at Barchester Woodland View Care Home is considerate and caring always. Ensuring she keeps her dignity, all of the staff show my mom the utmost respect. Suggestions are always taken on board and sometimes executed depending on the circumstances of staff available and finances. Overall I could not have chosen a better home for my mum thank you all.
Dad's welcome to the home has been lovely. The staff have been helpful, and his room and facilities are great. I am sure that he will settle and be well looked after.
Very caring staff who were kind and understanding. Excellent facilities and food. Good variety of activities and entertainment. Very efficient management. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
My mother has Alzheimer's and is currently trialling a week or two of respite. I have visited most days and found her happy, extremely well fed and thoroughly enjoying the beautiful, comfortable social environment. She thinks she is in a 5-star hotel. All the staff are wonderful, incredibly kind and caring to Mum and always informative and supportive. They do an outstanding job. Mealtimes are a high light and the food is truly fabulous. I have really appreciated being able to visit her at any time and always made to feel welcome. I thoroughly recommend this wonderful care home with great management and staff.
My husband knows this is his home, in his own brain-damaged way. He loves and knows the carers and they love him. As his family, we take great comfort from this and appreciate it greatly. Also as a family, we enjoy the relationships we have with the care staff, support staff, reception and management.
We needed a two-week respite stay for my mother with Alzheimer's which would also act as a 'test run' to see how she felt about leaving her own flat at some stage. She was very quickly content and relaxed and only needed a week to come to the conclusion she would rather not return to her flat but stay on permanently. She is less isolated now and the three trips to the dining room each day are a very welcome new rhythm to her life.
