View Full Details of Baily House Care HomeMy mum was a resident at Baily House Care Home for five years. During that time, she was treated with the utmost dignity and the carers loved her as their own. They go above and beyond to ensure the residents in their care are happy and well cared for. My mum was always encouraged to be independent but nothing was ever too much trouble. There is a range of activities daily to keep them entertained and stimulated. The management team are very approachable and any problems are sorted out quickly. I can't thank them all enough for their love and support when it was most needed. The home is a happy place and always very welcoming, My mum was always very happy at Baily which was a great comfort to us.
My mother spent the last two years of her life at Baily House Care Home. She was in her 90s and suffering from dementia. She was extremely well looked after and was content and very comfortable enjoying both the company of new friends, the food and the regular activities. The staff were excellent, treating her with kindness and compassion. I would like to thank all the staff at Baily House for looking after her during the last two years and giving the rest of her family peace of mind that she was safe and happy.
Disappointed with the care of my husband during 2 weeks of October 2024. I had high expectations following initial meeting with staff but it didn't follow through. During his time there, he was shaved once, received no haircut despite being there for 3 hairdresser visits and lost most of his personal possessions, including: dressing gown, slipper, toilet bag, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, sponge, two and a half sets of pyjamas, 3 jumpers, 2 shirts and 2 pair of jeans - these are still missing. The tv and shower didn't work and there was little personal care. There was a complete lack of communication and quite frankly I expected better. The reviews I read were really good, so a lot of people are happy and I know my expectations are high but I think that's what we should have with people we love and it's important to trust those looking after them and for the record,I met 3 staff members during the fortnight who did care and for that I'm so grateful. Thank you.
We like Baily House because the atmosphere is good, the carers are friendly and patient. It smells nice, the food is good and the residents seem at ease. The rooms are nice and clean and the corridors are long and spacious so residents who are mobile can have a walk around.
My dad has been in Baily House for over a year now. He has end-of-life Dementia. The staff at Baily House have loved my ad, they've wrapped him and my family with care and compassion. They're angels and if you need a care home for a loved one, they should be your number one choice.
My dad has been in Baily House for the last 3 years. He is very settled and happy. The staff are very caring and thoughtful of residents' needs. Dad treats it as his home, he likes the food and someone always to pop in and have a talk or game of cards. They have lots of entertainment for the residents and they are taken out for meals and shopping.
Mum went into this care home on respite for a short time and was going to stay there long term as she was so happy and settled there she was kept lovely and clean. You couldn't wish for better staff they entertained her and she was well looked after I could rest because I knew my mum was happy she thought she was on her holiday I would highly recommend this care home.
We had a difficult hospital experience but from the moment the assessment team came to visit at the hospital we as a family began to feel reassured things were going to get better for our mum. The day before Mum moved in, we had been welcomed to pop in to get her room ready, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. When Mum moved in, she was welcomed by staff and other residents. Mum engaged almost from the start of her stay, taking part in the activities. Both she and the family were very happy. The staff were chatty and encouraging, helpful and understanding. All very much appreciated, thank you so much.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing. They came to the car with a wheelchair to help bring my relative in for emergency respite. Once we were told where she would be and shown to the room all the staff made her very welcome and introduced themselves. They brought a hot drink and biscuits and put her at ease straight away in what was an alien environment. The home is spotlessly clean rooms are beautiful and everything there is to make the transition from home a little less scary. The improvement in her in a few days is down to the excellent care provided.
Over a week ago a family member of mine came to Baily House, and I have been nothing but impressed since. From the start the service has been amazing. The managers were rapid in admitting her, they were very professional and understood our reasons for her to come into the home. The room was beautiful and well presented, the home is always clean and smells beautiful. The carers do wonders with her, she hadn't been eating, socialising or walking now she's doing it all. I'm so glad we moved her here and so nice to see her being back to herself. All the teams deserve recognition for how outstanding the home and the service is. Well done and a massive thank you to you all.
My aunty moved into Baily House over a week ago, we've seen a massive improvement in her health, her mental wellbeing and general day-to-day self. Prior to her coming she was not doing good at all. Now she's socialising, walking around and eating well. The carers and management go above and beyond not only with my aunty but with all the residents. The home really cares and stands by its core values. The residents are the epicentre of all they do. My aunty has said how amazing not only the care team are but also the kitchen staff providing delicious food, the domestic staff keeping the home beautiful and clean and smelling nice and the maintenance team are really helpful. I would also like to add how amazing and fast the manager and another particular member of staff were in getting in her to the home, from the first call to admission. They were really understanding helpful, compassionate, caring, Professional and understanding. We were really impressed and I would absolutely recommend to family and friends.
All of the staff are very confident and helpful from arriving to leaving. They are helpful about my wife's condition needs and state of health. The home is always welcoming, warm and clean. The staff are always pleased to give you updates and have time to talk to you.
Over the past 6 months, as a family, we have been thoroughly satisfied with the care provided in Baily House. We have been kept informed regularly when he has been unwell and of any medical needs or interventions he has needed. They have taken care of him so well and with compassion. Basically, if he needs them they are there for him. They accompanied him to the hospital when we were unable. He has lots of stimulation in the home too. A varied activity programme means he is doing something different on a regular basis and he does far more now than when he lived at home on his own. This is reflected in our phone conversations. He always has something to say. He attends the choir on a weekly basis and absolutely loves it. I would recommend Bailey House without any hesitation. My dad's quality of life has improved so much. Thank you Bailey House.
After many years of caring for our mum at home, we had to face facts and find a care home for her own wellbeing. Mum moved into Baily House Care Home and has enjoyed every minute of it, The family was very worried about the move but Mum took it all in her stride, settled in and started to engage again with her newfound companions and staff. The home, the care, and the food are exceptional this is because of the ever-caring and engaging staff at Baily House. Mum celebrated her 90th birthday at Baily House and everyone contributed to making this a very special day. The home provides many activities thus helping to keep the residents active and even having days out which I know everyone really enjoys. These are placed on the social media page for the family of residents to see. Mum suffers from dementia but I can honestly say that she enjoys the attention and activities she receives and the family appreciate that she is in a safe and happy place. Thank you Baily House.
My mum has been a resident at Baily House for the past ten months. She is settled and happy and is treated with great care and respect by all the staff. I am very impressed with the range of activities the residents are able to get involved with if they choose to do so. Not just the usual singers etc but innovative things like a day at the seaside (in-house), exercise classes and reminiscing sessions. The rooms are bright and modern, kept spotlessly clean and include a small double bed, fridge and wet room. The meals are freshly prepared and offer a wide range of options. My mum is a very picky eater and I know the staff are trying to encourage her to eat as much as she can. I’m so pleased my mum has settled at Baily and am confident they have her best interests at heart.
The staff couldn’t have been better, my mum loved the sense of fun in the team which brought light to her days. The food was outstanding. Room warm and comfortable and the facilities well thought out. Mum would like to come back when she can be in an area with other residents she could mix with and build a connection with. This is an accolade indeed as she has been in respite in two other homes over the last year or so and this is the one she rates and would like to be in. Well done team, I would highly recommend.
After caring for a lady for many years, she moved into this incredible home. Before Baily House, she was extremely anxious about most aspects of life and had a genuine phobia of leaving the house. Now she is in Baily, she is interacting with other residents and staff, including herself in activities, which involved recently even going to the pub for dinner. She is absolutely thriving in this environment, and it is so wonderful to see her living her life to the fullest. I love seeing photos of her looking so happy. This home has truly turned her life around.
My mum has lived in Baily House since September 2020. She is extremely well looked after in terms of her physical, emotional and care needs. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are all very loving and dedicated to looking after all the residents. The home provides a wide variety of activities and outings and celebrates all festivities throughout the year, wherever possible, involving residents' families. A wonderful home which I would happily recommend.
It's a wonderful home. My mother always looks happy and well cared for. Keep me informed of any medical issues and have the doctor out when needed. Have lots of activities to do and keep the residents happy - colouring, jigsaws, making things, painting, bingo, sweets trolley, film days, hairdresser, nails done. Outside there are gardens, an aviary and fish. Plenty of staff. Food always looks wonderful and is made on-site, even making birthday cakes. Just a wonderful home I would be pleased to go in myself.
Since my last review, my lovely husband has moved permanently into Baily House as his condition deteriorated. At the beginning, he could be difficult to handle. This was mainly due to water infections which were never completely cleared up. Every time the staff noticed his change in behaviour they were alert and contacted the doctor who repeatedly sent him to Hospital. Antibiotics weren't strong enough or prescribed for long enough and in the end I nearly lost him to sepsis. All through this awful time the staff were diligent and insistent that he needed treatment and I hate to imagine what would have happened without them. I can't begin to express my gratitude. My mother, also at Baily House, is struggling with a chest infection and was about to be given yet more antibiotics. The fantastic carer contacted the doctor and alternative methods are being tried. All the staff there treat residents as they would family. My husband and Mum are so content and my mind is at rest. Thank you.
