View Full Details of Abney CourtThe exact amount of medication was handed in on arrival. At the end of the stay unused medication was handed back showing that on a number of days the medication was not administered. Both eye drops and blood thinners. His left foot was very swollen and our attention on pick up was not drawn to this.
My dad arrived at Abney Court in November after multiple visits to the hospital. The move went well with management and care staff making this possible. Any queries or issues have been addressed and the care staff have approached me and my sisters to notify us of any concerns they have had with my dad's care.
The home is beautiful and the staff are caring and compassionate. Everywhere is spotless and safety is excellent. The food looked and smelled wonderful. Certainly, this is a wonderful home.
Thanks to Abney Court Care Home for allowing our family to host my dad's 93rd birthday party so he could spend it with his wife, a celebration that always took place when my mum was still living at home. The gathering was filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. It is the moments like these that remind us of the warmth of family and the joy of being together. This makes such a difference to my mum and dad as she navigates her journey with dementia. The family are truly grateful for the support you show every day.
Beautiful place. Very clean and comfortable. Great garden. Warm and welcoming.
Most of the staff I talk to are very caring, and listen to what you say. They usually act on anything you are worried about re the resident. It is just a shame that when things go missing there is no way of tracing them. We had to buy a new pair of glasses which are not cheap and continually have to replace socks. Otherwise I have no complaints.
My husband has been a resident in Abney Court for nearly 5 years. He is cared for superbly with understanding and consideration. All the staff are superb and have been well trained to deal with the problems of living with Alzheimer's/Dementia. I would always recommend Abney Court as a safe caring environment for your loved one.
My Dad went into the home after being in a hospital, after 3 weeks he was a permanent resident. He then spent over a week before he was sent back into hospital. He was discharged and was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. After a week he was at end of life. The carers were amazing they looked after him with love care and attention. My Dad had his favourite and they knew it, they made him smile every day till the end and kissed and gave him hugs. He was comfortable and happy till the end. They're all amazing.
I find the staff very helpful and professional. There are many activities and visiting entertainers. This all makes my partner as comfortable as she can be considering her condition. On-site car park occasionally quite full but nearby parking is available. The coffee lounge particularly good when visiting with friends and relatives.
Myself and my sister visited Abney Court around 12 times whilst our mother was in the home. We both found the staff to be very rude and not at all caring for our mother. The carers on the other hand were very kind and considerate. It was the floor manager and floor manager's assistant and the entertainment manager were very rude and really could not care less for our concerns. If you were sent to Abney Court from hospital, you were treated differently to the regular clients. We ended up hating the place at the end of Mother's stay there.
A very attractive environment both inside and out. The staff, at every level, are friendly and attentive.
February - transferred from hospital following a shoulder replacement to begin my recovery before going home. The staff have done everything to make me feel welcome and very supportive. I would thoroughly recommend Abney Court to anyone needing treatment.
It is first class, everything is very good, wish I had been told about you when my father was in the care home. You are the best, my mother is being very well looked after.
This care home is fabulous, the staff are superb, caring, friendly and fun, excellent food and the very best about this home is The Grove Cafe on the ground floor where you can help yourself to tea, coffee and juice and twice a day the chef put fresh cakes out, here you and your relative can sit and meet with their visitors and other residents and their families it gives a bit of normality, I can’t praise this home high enough and would recommend it in a heartbeat.
All the staff at Abney Court are kind and caring whilst maintaining a professional approach. I do not worry about my mum as I know they have her best interests at heart. If ever there is an issue I am informed straight away. My mum is content and well looked after.
I only came in for respite because of the damage to my house so I was able to see to myself. Most of the time, food was acceptable but became difficult due to shortages and difficulties weren't helped by strikes and staff shortages but the staff certainly looked after me. I'm now at home but do visit two ladies I shared a table with.
Whenever I have visited I have been impressed by the home. The staff are friendly and caring, the rooms are very well-appointed and public areas are spacious and welcoming. The outlook onto the gardens is lovely. Abney Court Care Home has a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
From the moment I stepped into Abney Court, I knew my aunt would be very happy here, and she is! After just one week, she feels settled, secure and happy. All the staff are warm, friendly and kind. I couldn't ask for more.
Excellent service. Mum is happy when she is here - giving the family peace of mind. All visitors are made to feel welcome too.
Fantastic care was given to my mum during her stay at Abney Court. The staff members are an absolute credit to the company, no task was ever any trouble! Meals and rooms were excellent. What else is there to say except "thank you to all". Would definitely recommend to anyone needing/requiring care for themselves or their family!
