View Full Details of Cedar View Care CentreWhen I walked into Cedar View, looking for a home for my mum, I straight away felt a warmth that it was home. Mum was unable to verbally communicate but that did not stop the staff talking to her. They treated her with respect and always kept me updated with how she had been throughout the day. The staff are wonderful and always make time for me. My mum was well looked after all her needs physically and mentally were met by the staff. Cedar View is truly home from home.
Whenever I visit my friend she is obviously very content and happy. She tells me about the staff who care for her with such kindness. I see this for myself whilst I am there. The individual rooms are well designed and kept clean by the staff. The food is delicious as I have enjoyed lunch with my friend on special occasions. I would be happy to live here myself in time!
I first visited Cedar View Care Centre with my husband in October 2023. We booked a tour with the aim of finding out if it would be suitable for my mum. My mum has Alzheimer's and now needs 24/7 care. Before we had even finished the tour, we knew it was the perfect place and were reassured that she would be safe and well looked after. At the time of admittance, she also had a chronic skin condition on her legs which was not getting better but with the expert nursing care she has received that is massively improved and it is no longer a serious concern. I look forward to visiting my mum there and we have all got used to the routine. There is a good, reassuring atmosphere at Cedar View and the staff are caring and attentive. If I have any concerns or issues, I can raise them and they will be addressed, either at the time or at one of the regular residents family meetings held.
I'm very happy with the care my mother has received since arriving a few months ago. The staff are excellent and the facilities and rooms are very good. I don't feel we could have asked for more.
I can only say what a wonderful place Cedar View is. My mother has been here since February. It took me a long time and many homes to discover Cedar View. My mother has settled very well. All the staff are courteous and respectful and treat everyone with dignity, hardly surprising. When you meet the manager, who is exceptional, if you need to speak to her about anything - she is always available. Please do not hesitate if you are thinking of a home for your loved one. You can make your room as personal as you wish.
Good.
My mum has been at Cedar View Care Centre for the past month. She receives exemplary palliative care at the home. All nurses and carers are kind, professional and engaged. They know residents well and are able to spot early signs of deterioration in health. The facilities are clean, meals varied and activities entertaining. The manager is an excellent problem solver and makes sure the home runs like a clock! Her smile, compassion and genuine interest in my mum made a huge difference. Importantly, the staff understand the stress on family with someone at end of life and are also looking after me, not only my mum.
I moved my mother to Cedar View in August 2023 after a six-month stay in hospital in another part of the country. Her mental capacity and overall health had deteriorated during her hospitalisation but I was delighted with the care and support she received from the staff at Cedar View, some of whom became great friends to my wife and me. I visited pretty much every day for the last eight months of my mother's life, usually in the evenings but at other times too, and always felt comfortable and happy with the level of care. I also appreciated the kindness of everyone there on and after the day my mother passed away. I would definitely recommend Cedar View.
Why do friends and family (registered) not get a formal notice letter when residents require equipment for furniture that the home does not provide? E.g. wheelchairs, footrests, reclining chairs. A formal letter or email seems fitting.
Our father had an excellent nine-month stay in Cedar View - most importantly, he felt at home there, and we were able to trust that he was safe and well cared for when we could not be with him.
I try to visit my husband twice a week and everything carries on as per usual, not making more fuss because of visitors being there. Lovely staff go above and beyond their duties to keep people fresh, clean and well fed and entertained. The place always feels and smells clean. Staff are very friendly and caring, my husband couldn't have gone to anywhere as good as Cedar View Care Centre.
To everyone at Cedar View Care Centre. I wish to thank everyone, really everyone, at Cedar View Care Centre for their selfless, loving care extended to the resident over his long stay at the home. After being resuscitated, on the request of our estranged daughter living abroad, he was at ease despite being totally dependent on round-the-clock care. His care was totally selfless and loving and he was looked after with unbelievable support. He was at ease and happy. He surely was not an easy patient, but the home's care and understanding was beyond belief. Thank you. May he rest in peace having succumbed to COVID on 19th February, having managed several times to overcome the virus despite his weak physical state.
A fall at home, leading to hospital meant Mum had no choice but to move into care. Initially as respite care but, happily, she decided that she quite liked Cedar View and agreed to move in permanently. My first impression of Cedar View was that it was a clean, modern, purpose-built facility that was well-maintained. Equally, all of the staff greeted us on our visit with a friendly smile, as did many of the residents. This continued throughout Mum’s stay. Discussions regarding Mum's care have been thorough and a genuine two-way conversation. I have been greatly reassured that Cedar View wanted to know and understand Mum and cater for her specifically. I have been impressed by the attention to detail and touched by the care and kindness of the staff. Efforts are made to find suitable activities, and Mum took part in and enjoyed, things I would not have expected! Above all, Mum was well cared for and happy in her final months. I highly recommend Cedar View.
My close friend had been at Cedar View since May 2023 until passing away in December 2023. The care she received during her time there was wonderful, even the care all staff gave to myself and the rest of family, they were so supportive, always lots of tea and coffee and a cuddle if needed, especially during her palliative care. A very caring run home with caring staff. I am eternally grateful for all the love and care that we have received. Would highly recommend Cedar View. Thank you all.
My auntie was a resident at Cedar View from April 2023 until December 2023 when she sadly passed away. During her short time at Cedar View, the care she was given was above what we could have ever imagined. She was looked after so well and not only did the staff at Cedar View look after my auntie, they looked after us as a family too. We cannot be more thankful. Cedar View really go above and beyond for the residents and their families, and even though my auntie was nursed in bed for quite a few months, the activity department ensured that she was still engaged with on a daily basis like they did with all residents. During her final weeks, everyone went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and staff bought us cups of tea and refreshments continuously through this time. I couldn’t recommend Cedar View enough to anyone looking for a 5-star care home. Thank you to everyone who helped us as a family and for looking after our lovely auntie.
Cedar View is an excellent care home. We are so pleased that we chose this home for our mum. The staff here are so caring and genuine. Mum stayed here for 18 months, but sadly passed last August. However, we stay in touch with Cedar View and the staff are so welcoming. We know that we can always pop back there for a coffee and a chat. Cedar View held a memorial service for all the residents that had passed in 2023, which was very touching. I would not hesitate to recommend Cedar View to anyone who is looking for a place for their loved ones. We count ourselves very lucky that Mum stayed here.
My mother lived at Cedar View for the last three months of her life. During her stay there, the care given to her by the manager and deputy manager and their team was exemplary. I cannot praise them enough. They were kind, thoughtful, efficient and professional in everything that they did. Under their care, mum was eating and drinking better and was no longer lonely and bored, as she had been at home. Her room was always clean and was well furnished and, when she was confined to her bed with illness, the extra touches supplied by the staff to keep her surroundings interesting were very thoughtful. She very much enjoyed the activities provided and joined in with far more than we would have expected of her. Their thoughtfulness even extended to us, Mum's family. We were always kept well-informed of all that was going on and even on one occasion when my wife and I had travelled a long way to visit were provided at their insistence with sandwiches. We cannot recommend them too highly.
Very friendly, caring staff in all fields. Kindly and understandingly competent when dealing with residents. Very good at liaising with families/friends. Flexible. Very tolerant of residents' eccentricities. Excellent following a resident's husband's death and very kind and generous post-funeral. I am extremely grateful that Cedar View Care Centre had a vacancy when an urgent placement from hospital was needed.
My 86-year-old father has been a resident since April 2023 having been at a different care home before this. I visit him three or more times a week and this care home is amazing in terms of facilities and the care he receives. The management team are 'on the ball' and for the first time, I do not need to worry about my dad. I can relax knowing he is getting first-class care.
In my eighties, I was brought here to recover from damage after a fall. The staff have been friendly, caring, gentle and efficient and a pleasure to know. I shall miss them. I was pleased to have freedom of movement to walk about and exercise. It has been a very positive, rewarding and heartwarming experience.
