View Full Details of Holmesdale Day CareI care for my client on a Shared Lives Placement and he has been attending Holmesdale Day Care for 4 years now. He has two days a week and although he is non verbal he really seems very happy to be there. It suits his needs beautifully, and the staff are kind and sympathetic to his various conditions and abilities. It is always a pleasantly quiet and calming environment with lots of therapeutic activities on offer. I would definitely recommend this type of day care for anyone who needs a specific care plan or is perhaps older and is looking for a comfortable home from home type setting.
I only went to the day centre once a week, to give my husband a break to go running. The staff were lovely, they became my friends. The food was very good, I have a special diet, as I have to go gluten-free and the member of staff that cooked my lunch was very careful and a very good cook, she even managed to make cakes I could eat. Nothing was too much trouble. I can say the staff were lovely. As my illness progresses, I will have no hesitation to go back to them. At the moment I am at home waiting for this horrid Covid business to pass. I can say the staff were really lovely and I found only kindness and friendliness when I stayed there.
My husband, who has Alzheimer’s, goes to Holmesdale Day Care twice a week. It has a lovely homely atmosphere. He receives great care and attention and of course a tasty lunch each time. He is always happy to go and I am so pleased to have found somewhere so safe and welcoming for him.
My husband loved going to daycare he was very happy there and was looked after very well. Nothing was too much trouble, lovely people.
My recently widowed 91-year-old mother who is registered blind used the daycare service mainly for company. My mother was complimentary of the home-cooked lunches, friendly staff and enjoyed the relaxation of spending time with another lady who enjoyed chatting and playing cards. For me, it provided daytime respite with confidence in the safe and homely environment of the service. I give an overall rating as excellent as it was just what my mother needed for a while during a difficult time.
As a carer, I need a days respite and Holmesdale Day Centre provides this. It is a very welcoming, warm and homely place with good food and individual client care. I have no qualms about leaving my husband for the day and I feel he is in safe hands. The staff are all very obliging and friendly.
The client I support has been attending Holmesdale Day Care for the past year and both she and I are extremely happy with the service provided. We have found the care to be person-centred, focusing on her individual likes and needs whilst providing a safe environment and excellent personal care. She has been supported in forming new relationships and as a result, lovely friendships have been established. The staff and management are all very kind, caring and welcoming and I can honestly say nothing seems too much trouble to them. There is always a variety of activities on offer and a quiet area for relaxing, reading or watching TV. We are provided with a daily diary which is very helpful if you are supporting someone who may not be able to communicate what they have been doing. The lunch and snacks provided are varied and balanced and my client is able to choose what she wishes to eat. Most importantly my client loves attending Holmesdale and has a wonderful time!
I found the whole experience with Holmesdale Day Centre excellent. My mother, who is suffering from dementia, enjoyed her days there very much. The level of care and consideration could not be topped. She was constantly stimulated which made a big difference to her condition. She was treated with dignity and a great deal of care. The whole process to join the centre was made very easy by the staff and management. I would recommend Homelsdale to anyone.
My husband really enjoys his time at the day centre, he visits twice a week and has made a friend while there and they sit and watch films that they both like together. We can't praise the staff enough for all the care and attention they gave to him.
I am so pleased to have found this centre for my mother. She is 90 years old, and needs lots of 1:1 care to keep her mind and body active and she definitely gets this at Holmesdale. The staff are attentive and caring and make mum feel part of the family while she is there. I am also impressed with the amount of feedback I get from them. They are working with me as part of a joint team - with mum's needs at the centre. The activities and the interactions with others there are just what she needs. Thank you to all those involved.
Holmesdale Day centre service has provided my grandfather with a great friendly place to visit a few times a week. Including food, drink, entertainment and socialising with others that attend, as well as the people who work there.
All of the staff are extremely helpful, polite and engaging. My dad always has a lovely time. There are always other people to interact and enjoy activities with that he couldn't enjoy on his own at home.
My husband has been going to Homesdale Day Care 2 days a week for the last 13 months. He is very happy to go and I can leave him knowing he will enjoy being there and will be well looked after. I have no worries during my free time, and he comes home having had a nice lunch and a stimulating time.
Very friendly, supportive, one to one care, able to speak in confidence and intelligent and informative conversations. Lunches provided were adequate. Lacking entertainment, it would have been good if there were games such as chess, cribbage, billiards etc. However overall a good experience and a nice environment to be in.
My mother is currently living in a local care home. She suffers with dementia but needed more stimulation by way of conversation and one to one interaction of interesting pursuits. We have been delighted in the change in my mother. Although she goes only twice a month we have already seen the difference in her. The care and attention she receives is wonderful and we are very grateful. We would recommend the Day Centre to anyone in our situation.
My husband has attended daycare every Thursday for the last three months sometimes and extra day per week for other events. It gives me respite one day a week. I am his only carer 24 hours a day. This is a very nice clean home with owners on site most days plus the cares are very kind and friendly. They play suitable games with my husband who is very difficult to please at times with me. They bought in a drafts board and various ball games and many items of interest.
My mother uses the day care service provided at Holmesdale twice a week. She looks forward to her days there and loves being able to talk with others and sit in the conservatory reading papers and enjoying games etc. A glass of wine with lunch and then maybe, if booked, a visit from the hairdresser. Staff are always friendly and on hand to help. Highly recommend this day care centre and more importantly, my mother does too.
My husband enjoyed his days at the day centre so much that sometimes it was difficult to get him to leave. His personal likes and interests were all well catered for. My only regret is that you do not take residents with dementia as I would have had no hesitation in leaving him in your caring hands.
Coming to day care has made such a difference to my life. I was so isolated. I really look forward to coming, such a lovely atmosphere, lovely company and so friendly, made such an improvement on my life. I do appreciate attending, having reached 90 years, not able to get out often and meet and make new friends in such pleasant surroundings and so thank yo to everyone who has provided this for me, otherwise I wold be so isolated. So many thanks to everyone for arranging this for me.
