View Full Details of Cherry Blossom Care HomeMy dad spent his last few weeks at Cherry Blossom Care home and he was so looked after. The staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. Dad has been previous for respite care and it was his choice to go back there, when he realised he needed more help. From the receptionist, management, care and nursing team on the 2nd floor, the maintenance man, you were always guaranteed a friendly welcome. I always felt that dad was being very well cared for and I wish he had more time there to appreciate everything they do. I would recommend Cherry Blossom to everyone and I thank you all for everything.
Mum is always happy when we visit. The staff are wonderful with mum and always take time and chat with her. Mum enjoys meal times and is generally always in good spirits.
The carers that are here are absolutely wonderful. But there aren't enough of them.
My wife and I have the privilege of visiting residents and participating in activities with them. We are impressed with the care the residents receive as it's obvious that the staff have a deep affection for the residents. The care and respect shown by staff towards the residents is truly amazing, it's as if the residents are part of their family. The staff from the receptionist, who is outstanding as the first point of contact to the nursing, carers, cleaners and maintenance staff are a real credit to your home.
Mum always seems happy and content, so that makes me feel the same. Staff are always happy to answer any questions I have. And lots of smiles from the moment I walk in to reception. Thank you.
I visit my friend weekly and have been very impressed with the facilities available to both visitors and residents. The staff are welcoming and friendly and appear to be caring towards the residents. There is a bistro cafe on site, where we can help ourselves with hot drinks and or biscuits, etc. It gives a lovely opportunity to relax with residents.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. I have noticed how caring the staff team appears to be. The building and facilities are very impressive. Every effort seems to have been made to enable my friend to have the best quality of life possible. Having visited many care homes in the past this one stands above all.
I recommended my Mother-in-law for respite here, care is always excellent. From reception to units very satisfied with the care of my Mother-in-law.
The first thing you are greeted with is a smile and a warm welcome by the receptionist, on my way to visit my partner I am greeted with a good morning or hello how are you, which gives me a warm feeling. The treatment my partner receives at Cherry Blossom is fine and excellent.
My uncle has been extremely ill during his residency at Cherry Blossom, during this time the staff have nurtured him to much better health, his appetite and weight have improved along with the overall quality of his life. I am very happy with how the staff keep me up to date on all aspects of care.
All Cherry Blossom staff are wonderful, they have given my dad the best possible care, throughout the home, always willing to answer any family questions, and took the time to build caring relationships with him. Highly recommend this home, he was happy to be there and sad to leave!
Every staff member at every level has ensured my mother the highest level of care for the seven and a half years she has lived at Cherry Blossom. I am sure that all Mum's positive and genuine care was firstly implemented from the wonderful registered manager and passed on professionally to all departments of staff; housekeeping, chefs, catering, senior admin, activities and all nursing staff and amazing home services. An especially big thank you goes to all night staff caring for Mum during her final days and their loving support for me.
Overall, I feel Mum is well looked after, and the staff are friendly and supportive.
The staff are very competent and attentive. My mother has settled in very well. She is happy with food, comfortable asking for help and getting to know other residents, and gets involved in activities. Great atmosphere and staff, call me by name! Thank you.
Absolutely brilliant care, nursing team fantastic! Good choice of meals. Everyone is respectful to Dad and relatives. Cannot rate this place enough. Both myself and sister felt so relaxed and happy the first day Dad was transferred. Amazing team: receptionist, cleaners, and all nursing team. Cannot thank you enough, you are all fab!
I have visited Cherry Blossom on numerous occasions this month and have always been welcomed by the friendly, cheerful receptionist by name. I've noticed that they are replacing carpets, which is lovely. The staff are always available if you have any queries. The rooms are clean and tidy and my friend has her hair done every week. There are always activities where she can attend and often visiting singers or entertainers. I highly recommend them.
My mother-in-law rang me at 10pm to say the night staff were refusing to put her to bed. She then rang back again at 10.15 pm in a distressed state saying she was tired and stuck in her chair. She then called me back at 10.30pm and was really unhappy saying” they won't listen to me”. Whilst she was on the phone I heard the night staff shout at my mother, "As I keep telling you, stop ringing the bell, I will put you to bed when I have time". Obviously, she didn't know I was on the phone and could hear my mother being shouted at.
Mum spent 21/2 years of her remaining life in Cherry Blossom and making a decision on behalf of a loved one is not an easy decision to make, however I can say in all honestly Cherry Blossom was and is a very good choice fo us to have a made. The staff were professional and lovely people as were the clerical staff, many became more like good friends over time. Facilities were sufficient and the hair salon staff were brilliant. I shall keep in touch with them.
Taking money from patients: My family and I are really disappointed with Allegra Care Cherry Blossom Care Home. At Christmas, we got a call from Allegra Care saying we owed them £30 and they wanted reimbursing. Apparently, Allegra Care Cherry Blossom had invited a ‘salesman’ into Cherry Blossom to sell scarves and handbags to the elderly patients. We were told that my 95-year-old father who was suffering from dementia had ‘wanted’ to buy my 94-year older mother who was also in Allegra Cherry Blossom and suffering from dementia, a matching scarf and handbag for £30. Both my mother and father only left their rooms to eat in the dining room. Obviously, this was money money-making scam as they were selling raffle tickets the same week to raise money for the staff Christmas party. We refused to pay and took the scarf and handbag to the Allegra management who were incredibly dismissive, stating, “Well you got your money back what’s the problem?”. The Management was really unprofessional.
My wife spent eight weeks at Cherry Blossom following her discharge from hospital and was made to feel welcome by all the staff. Her room was clean, bright and airy and she seemed to settle quite well. The staff cared for her efficiently and treated her needs with respect. Whenever myself and the family visited her we were usually greeted cheerfully by the staff who had time to answer any questions/queries we may have had. I was able to enjoy Christmas Day lunch with my wife which was much appreciated. She received cards and Christmas present and also a bunch of flowers for her birthday soon after which was a nice touch. When leaving to come home it was nice to see how many of the staff came to see her and wish us both well before we left.
