View Full Details of Derby Heights Care Home - Avery HealthcareMum became very unwell and unsafe to be at home alone so we made a family decision to get her into some emergency respite while we sorted a more permanent solution. She had stayed at Derby Heights for respite a couple of year ago and because we were so impressed they were are first place to contact. From the moment I made the initial call Derby Heights team were so helpful and reassuring at such a difficult time for us. They found mum a room at very short notice. The care home is absolutely fantastic and has more the feel of a luxury hotel. Mum is in for 4 weeks and has recovered so much better with all the excellent support from all the team members, the excellent food and the overall great atmosphere as soon as you walk in. As a family since mum has been in respite we have felt so relaxed as she is very safe and well cared for, which gives us time to breathe ourselves. If mum does need to move into a permanent are home in the future Derby Heights will be our first call. A great team.
My father has been in the care home for about 6 months. He has settled in well and he seems very contented in the home. The staff seem to be very supportive and my father seems to respond well to them. We as a family have no concerns and feel that he is being well looked after.
Mum had a wonderful time at Derby Heights during her recent respite stay. She has never stopped talking about the events held during her stay and the lovely people she met. Her only complaint was the noise, being used to living alone mum found the TV in the adjacent room to be intrusive. The garden room was superb with clean fresh surfaces and fittings in good order. Mum wouldn't hesitate to stay at Derby Heights again if the opportunity arose.
Very pleasant. Staff seem happy which means the residents do too.
Both my parents have been at Derby Heights since April my mother with dementia, and my father with major mobile issues. My mother has thrived since arriving and looks so much. My father not so much, but we know that someone is watching out for him 24 hours a day.
I visit at least twice a week. Very friendly staff. The rooms are lovely and usually clean. My family member who is a resident is not always a fan of the menu but does say it's improving. She is well cared for and the staff have all been lovely and engaged with her.
Mum felt very comfortable at Derby Heights and said everyone was kind and supportive. The standard of care was very good. She made a lot of friends (both residents and staff) and was sad to leave. Thank you for making her experience a great one!
We were very impressed with the level of care mum and dad received at Derby Heights. All the staff were very approachable and the care team did an excellent job with mum's complicated needs. The care ran through the whole building whether it be maintenance, housekeeping, laundry and they always had time to pop into mum's room and show a genuine interest. As a family, we were able to relax knowing they were well cared for and had friendships with other residents. Whether it be grandchildren or great-grandchildren visiting we were all made to feel so welcome.
Derby Heights is always a pleasure to visit. The facilities are of a high standard. The staff are always welcoming and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is always happy and friendly. Residents appear happy. I'm very pleased that my relative has settled well and is being well cared for.
I visit my sister regularly and am always pleased with how she is treated, professionally but with kindness the staff are always cheerful and greet me with a smile. I would recommend Derby Heights to anybody in similar circumstances as my sister.
My 93-year-old mother was feeling vulnerable at home and asked us to find her somewhere for a change of surroundings. Derby Heights was able to offer her 8 days of Respite accommodation at quite short notice. My mother wasn't sure why she was there, having forgotten she had asked for a break and so was not the most receptive to the facilities and activities on offer as she didn't accept that she had dementia, and felt that she was in the wrong place. She did however eventually emerge from her room to join in with some of the lovely activities and at times enjoyed herself. She loved the food and the staff but isn't yet ready to stay longer. The family was very pleased with the overall care and kindness of the staff and will certainly consider Derby Heights for longer-term accommodation when the time comes.
When I was initially looking for a care home for my 91-year-old mother Derby Heights Care Home immediately stood out as my top selection. My mother moved there in January 2024 and with the care and support of the staff, she has settled in very quickly. She is enjoying all the events on a daily basis and has met and made some new friends that keep her active something I could not officer if she had remained in her own home.
I have been very impressed with the level of care that my mother has received. She had always dismissed the idea of a care home but the luxurious and high-end decor of Derby Heights gives her the feeling of being in a top hotel. She loves the garden, enjoys the varied activities and is satisfied with the meals. The staff are respectful and make an effort to get to know each resident so that they know what the person wants and expects of them. I would recommend Derby Heights to anyone considering a care home.
My dad has been in your care home 5 visits for a week or more. The overall experience has been truly amazing. Watching how all the staff are with my dad and others is very special. They cannot do enough for you with such a friendly, caring, happy professional manner, it is very moving and comforting to see. The standards across everything are fantastic feels like a hotel - cannot thank them enough for all they do.
I have enjoyed my respite care in Derby Heights. The staff have been kind and helpful. It is a pleasure to be in such beautiful surroundings. Thank you for a comfortable stay.
Myself and family put Mum into Derby Heights when she was diagnosed with dementia after 12 months of worry and upset. The home is a lovely place for Mum to live; she has made friends with other residents and joins in with alot of the activities with them. The staff are first class and very welcoming to us when we visit on a regular basis. Mum's room is always clean and tidy, as are the communal areas. She is happier and more settled than she has been in many months, which is down to all the exceptional staff that work there. There are lots of activities that take place, including ones for special occasions that family can go along to and enjoy. We are informed of any difficulties that Mum may have and are updated on all medical concerns promptly.
When we were looking for extra support for Mum following a fall, we contacted Derby Heights. We had never thought about needing this support, so their advice was invaluable. We were guided through the process of settling Mum into Derby Heights, where she is now thriving!! We have been made so welcome by all the staff at the care home.
Excellent care home - staff are friendly and approachable and the level of service is high in all respects. Good variety of on-site activities and outings to other venues makes life much more interesting and varied for residents. The standard of meals is superb. Really pleased that my mother-in-law lives at Derby Heights and that the staff respond to her needs so well.
The staff at Derby Heights have been extremely helpful in getting my mum settled. They guided us through the process from start to finish with no pressure or hard sell. They are continuing to update us and also updating and adjusting Mum's care as needed. Would recommend Derby Heights and I have visited 2 other Avery homes and their care is consistent across the group. They think about the residents' needs. Their processes are tailored to suit the best possible solutions for the residents. There are plenty of optional in-house activities, good food and there is always someone around for a chat. My mum is loving the home despite her Alzheimer's and is thriving.
Derby Heights was the perfect place for Mum to stay for respite while her new bathroom was installed. All the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make her feel at home. She really enjoyed the food and privacy afforded in her lovely room. Mum likened her time in Derby Heights as staying in a nice hotel. I was really worried how Mum would cope not being in her own home, but she did settle well and the staff were always on hand to assure me she was alright.
