View Full Details of The Place Up Hanley LtdBeing a former RGN nurse who has working in nursing, this is one of the nicest I have been in. The staff are good and very helpful, it is very different being a resident to being a healthcare professional. Anything you need is provided for and explained in a helpful manner. Meals and entertainment is very good.
Such a welcoming place! From the first time, we contacted The Place and helped to settle my brother in, all the staff have been helpful and welcoming. Needless to say, the facilities and activities are good and varied, so like every day is safe, comfortable and with plenty to be involved in if a resident needs them. Very pleased with all that is offered and the standard of care.
The staff are really friendly, approachable and deliver excellent care with such compassion. The home is well-led, has great facilities and nothing is too much trouble for the team. Everywhere is so clean and the environment is comfortable. Thanks for everything you do for my mum.
It's very good here.
This is a brilliant place to be taken care of. The staff are absolutely brilliant. I have no complaints at all, the staff including domestics are great, helpful, caring and supportive. The activity coordinator is also wonderful.
I think it's a great place to live.
Overall, the home and staff are really good. Very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely home.
I am very happy for my son to be here. The staff are great with him, and I know he will be looked after. Many thanks to all the staff for all the care they given to him.
In October 2021 my aunt moved into the home as she was no longer able to care for herself at home, From day one we knew the right decision had been made she settled in very well over the next months, Her health deteriorated so her care needs changed. I feel that the staff are meeting my aunt's needs to the best of their ability she is well cared for and happy and we as a family are kept up to date on any changes as and when required. When I visit the home I always feel welcome and made comfortable by the staff. If I had any issues I feel confident that I could approach the management/ staff and these would be dealt with. Keep up the good work you do well in a very challenging environment.
The main care staff are lovely and caring but the management cannot handle complaints adequately. Residents wander around the home alone, unsupervised, often in a distressed state or confused and the staff are nowhere to be seen. There is often a strong smell of urine in the corridors. Cleaning staff do not know how to clean properly. Residents enter other residents' bedrooms freely and often verbally abuse innocent residents - no staff presence. When too many complaints are made management removes residents from facilities such as en-suite rooms as 'punishment'
The staff was difficult to find (couldn't find staff). Residents wandering corridors. The corridors were clean (but smelled of urine). The room was clean but stuffy and messy (the resident was not aided in keeping the room tidy as things in strange places were not put away properly). Access to any rooms (all unlocked) residents in any room are free to wander into all rooms! No visible cleaning rotas or resident shower rota (not able to say when the resident was last fully bathed) - no en-suite shower or toilet) public toilet small/cramped - no access for frame or wheelchair and very smelly with a wet floor!) Faulty entrance/exit door. The staff I had contact with were pleasant and helpful.
After spending 2 months in the care of the staff at the place. It was my decision to ask if I could still visit and possibly help out in any way I can with activities and getting food/drinks for my friends who are residents.
Amazing care home, care staff are lovely and welcoming all the time and nothing is too much bother for them. Managers seem really considerate and accommodating. My uncle is very settled here and feels happy and safe. Definitely made the right choice of placement here. Thank you to you all, you bring a smile to my face every time I visit after a hard day at work.
My grandmother moved into your home during COVID and although it was a very difficult time the staff there made us feel at ease and kept us updated on her care. Initially, only window visits were allowed until you had a room converted to accommodate inside visits in a pod-like room to keep our relatives safe. This was of great benefit to my family and we appreciated all the help that we received in those initial months from the lady on the front desk and the Deputy Manager. Her carer always kept us updated on my nans care and this really reassured us that we had made the right decision. Although nan is no longer with us we know that the last 2.5 years of her life were made all the better for the care that your staff gave to her from day one to the very end. It has taken a while for me to do this due to a lot of personal loss around the time of losing my nan but I felt that I needed to reach out to say that the above-mentioned staff are a real asset to your company.
Good sized accommodation, nice rooms, friendly staff. Lots of games and activities going on, nice grounds outside.
Dad was well cared for during this period, and enjoyed his time there. Now he comes in to visit staff and friends he made whilst there and has said he wouldn't mind moving back if there comes a time when he can't cope.
After spending 2 months as a resident I think it says it all when he's wanting to come and visit twice a week to see and help out with the residents and staff alike who he refers to as his friends.
Lovely care home, staff very friendly and helpful, residents all look happy.
My husband was given a warm and friendly welcome when he first arrived at the home (evening time) when he was very confused and frightened and the staff have always been caring and patient with him. I like the fact that I always get a friendly greeting whenever I make my regular but unannounced visitors.
My sister is very well cared for. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
