View Full Details of Leycester HouseMy 90 year old mum moved into Leycester House in May 2024 when she was struggling badly, both mentally and physically. Almost immediately we saw a drastic improvement in her well-being. Her comfortable room is on the nursing floor and the level of care and nursing is superb. She has a great relationship with the nurses/carers. She looks and acts 20 years younger. The admin/reception/catering staff I've come into contact with are lovely. The private dining room and bar area are attentive. The events organised are frequent and varied. It is a really happy place to visit. I've got my mum back and want to thank everyone at Leycester House for making that happen.
My father was sadly not at Leycester House for long due to the nature of his illness, but the end-of-life care he received was exemplary. The nursing staff worked proactively and sensitively with the local GP practice to ensure Dad was pain-free and comfortable in his last days. Lots of welcoming smiles for us as family and two staff members in particular could not be more generous with their time. The rooms can sometimes feel quite small but the bar was well stocked and looked after!
As my husband became increasingly unwell, the time came for him to go to Leycester House, where he had spent a fortnight a couple of months earlier to give me respite from attending to him at home day and night. He knew that he was going to a home that had looked after him beautifully, so he was pleased to go there again. Leycester House has a happy atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and they always greet residents and visitors with smiling faces. He enjoyed the meals, and visitors are encouraged to join the residents for coffee, tea and homemade cake and, if ordered the day before, lunch, which was much appreciated. In fact, visitors are welcome to visit whenever they choose. My thanks go to all the staff for making a previously unknown experience for me and my family as good as it could possibly be.
Following a short stay in hospital, Leycester House was absolutely fantastic in the way they adapted to my Dad's new situation and requirements. Despite his advanced dementia and inability to really express himself, it was clear that he was thrilled to be back 'home' with a huge smile for the care staff who welcomed him back. Nothing appears to be too much trouble and they are always thinking of ways to improve his quality of life. They are also always so kind and supportive to both myself and my elderly Mum. Thank you all so much.
Carers have been fantastic especially two of them, cannot thank them enough.
Fantastic care home. Lots of activities for residents and their families to get involved in. The staff always friendly and the whole place is so welcoming to not only a new resident but also their family. Mum had a fabulous stay at Leycester house and as a family visiting her, we had a fabulous time too. My children and I were included in any of the activities. I could also come and sit in the bistro and have lunch with my mum. I felt reassured that Mum was being well looked after when I wasn't with her. They supported and promoted independence when needed and supported my mum in doing her physio-led exercises. They were fantastically proactive at sorting out medications/prescriptions on a bank holiday weekend - thank you.
Amazing home friendly and the staff are out of this world can’t do enough to help at every step of the experience. Would highly recommend looking around this home. My mum and stepdad have been happy from the first day and continue to be so taking part in the activities and enjoying the singing and other entertainment laid on by the home.
My elderly father has been at Leycester for a year now, and I can thoroughly recommend the home. They describe themselves as a hotel with care, and they have lived up to that claim and more. My father was getting confused with his pills and medical appointments, and these were successfully transitioned to Leycester, who have proven to be extremely reliable, ensuring his complex requirements are carefully and accurately dealt with. This is of great relief to the family, and he is in great spirits and never grows tired of singing everyone's praises. All the staff have been both lovely and extremely professional in all matters. We'll be taking him away for a few days in October, and I know from prior experience that everything will be carefully packed for him, all his medications will be arranged in individual bags carefully labelled, etc. We are so glad we chose Leycester over the other homes we considered.
We have always been very impressed by the standard of care at Leycester House and the hard work and kindness of the staff. This was especially evident when my mother celebrated her birthday this month. Everyone made it very special for her and we enjoyed an excellent lunch together including the unexpected arrival of an amazing birthday cake. We took great comfort from the day knowing that my mother is being so well looked after.
My father-in-law was admitted for respite as he was getting very confused with his Parkinson’s meds and was lonely and had deteriorated from the Covid isolation. The staff at Leycester House could not do enough to settle him in and make him feel safe and welcome. We feel much happier knowing he is being looked after and has company now.
Leycester House Care Home is an outstanding setting. All the staff are welcoming to visitors and go out of their way to make my father-in-law feel special. The level of care and professionalism is high. There’s a variety of activities and my father-in-law is happy and thriving and absolutely in the right place.
My father was discharged to Leycester House from hospital unable to walk and very confused due to his dementia. The moment he arrived I felt his mood and demeanour lifted, it was as though he woke up. Within a day he was standing and there was a smile on his face. I put this remarkable transformation to the fabulous staff at Leycester House. The staff here clearly love their job and it shows. Dad was treated with dignity and respect. What was intended to become a final stay ended up becoming a rehabilitation, something I understand is quite rare. While Dad still has ongoing challenges, the help of the Leycester House team have allowed him to return home to be with his family. If we needed help again we would not hesitate for dad to return to Leycester House to receive help from the Leycester house family.
An outstanding setting. A sensitive mix of friendly and supportive, compassionate and professional medical care. It truly does what it says on the tin (brochure). What more is there to say?
Leycester House is exceptional in every way. The staff, including administrative, management and those providing direct care and maintenance and subsidiary services to residents and visitors are outstanding and highly professional as well as kind and caring. The standard of nursing care provided and personal contact with family and friends is exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone there. I cannot recommend the place highly enough, and as a retired hospital consultant with close to forty years spent working in the NHS, I feel I can recognise the quality of service for what it is. My wife was looked after at Leycester House for the last three months of her life and could not possibly have been in a better place.
Lovely care home with a great friendly feel to it. They take great care of my mum and the nurses under the Lead Nurse's wing are all wonderful. There are special little things that the carers do that make such a difference from bringing their children into holding mum's hand when she has her leg dressed, and hugs at night. As family members, they are all very caring toward us as well, and we are grateful to all the staff for their kindness. The food is lovely and the afternoon teas are a real treat which also goes towards making visits a little different. Thank you, everyone!
My father became a resident on the nursing floor at Leycester House in March 2022. Leaving his home after 61 years was not easy for dad but everyone at Leycester House went above and beyond to ensure a smooth transition for him. The whole process was dealt with the utmost sensitivity, dignity and respect. Choosing Leycester House was not a difficult decision to make as mum has been a resident receiving 5 star care here since January 2020. I cannot speak highly enough about the incredible care and service every single person who works here provides. It is so reassuring to know that both my parents and all the residents are being so well cared for by the most amazing team! Thank you to each and every one of you!
Leycester House is a purpose-built nursing/care home with all the facilities that we required. The staff go above and beyond normal standards. The food and service are first-rate. My partner has been made so welcome that I do not stress anymore about her well-being.
From our very first contact with the staff at Leycester House, it was clear that this was a dedicated and highly professional team. From the first assessment visit to dad in his own home, good relationships were formed and dad was treated with warmth and respect. His admission was arranged at short notice because of the urgency of care for him. However, no corners were cut and everyone went the extra mile to ensure his needs were met. The environment and facilities are top class, comfortable and well looked after. All staff were delightful and worked hard to put dad at his ease. The nursing care was excellent. The nursing staff always had time to talk and explain what was happening. They offered so much support both to dad and to me. I could not have faced the final stages of dad's life without their care and encouragement.
I have been treated with kindness and consideration. Help has always been on hand. I have enjoyed all the activities and I was encouraged to join in as much as I was able to.
After a prolonged period of hospital treatment, it became clear my mother would need 24-hour nursing care upon discharge. When I began the search for a suitable home nearer to myself, several friends recommended I consider Leycester House based on their own experience. From the very first contact and without exception, I found a highly professional, caring and compassionate team from the manager down. My many questions were answered openly, honestly and with patience. I was given help, support and reassurance with each stage of the admission process. Since Mum moved in four weeks ago, I have witnessed her improvement due to the excellent care she has received. She is treated with dignity and genuine compassion. The facilities and standard of care are excellent. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I feel included in every aspect of mum's care and that we are working together to ensure this chapter of her life is the best it possibly can be, which is so precious. Thank you!
