View Full Details of Ferrars Hall Care HomeI felt great relief leaving my husband at Ferrars Hall after a difficult time with dementia much worse. His room is very comfortable. I am impressed with the cleanliness and freshness of the home each time I visit. The staff are really caring and I admire them as it must be really difficult at times on their shift. It is hard to visit my husband in this situation and I feel worse after a bad day. The staff though are very friendly and supportive which helps. My sons and I feel happy that my husband is in Ferrars Hall and we chose the home that is so good.
The carers are so kind and helpful even when they are stretched beyond with their duties. The majority of the staff are excellent, but there are some passengers and some who are unprofessional. The cleaning staff are cleaning somewhere all of the time when I am visiting. Food and drinks are excellent considering the numbers and clientele being catered for. They are very kind to let me have my meals with my husband, beautifully served on a table for 2. The room for entertaining our family and friends is excellent. The activities are excellent but could do with some in the long evenings.
My aunt has been in Ferrars Hall since May 2023. My aunt settled in straight away and seems very comfortable and content in the home. The home is extremely clean, the food is good, and the facilities are great. However, the biggest asset of the home is the staff - all of them from those working in reception to the Managers to the care staff are exceptional. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and excellent with the residents. The home undertakes a lot of activities with the residents and visits out into the community. The home has also helped us manoeuvre through the complex social care funding processes which has helped relieve a lot of the stress involved.
Ferrars Hall was recommended to me by a neighbour whose mother is a resident. It is better than a 5 Star Hotel, my mother 92, was admitted to the hospital for the first time, ever, this year, very frail with an infection, she and I jointly decided she could not live alone anymore when discharged. After about 6 weeks of living in Ferrars Hall she has acclimatised to the routine and staff and is now very happy, I would say much happier than when living alone in her flat. Now, she is wheeled by the carers in her chair to breakfast, lunch and afternoon goodies, my mother says the food in the restaurant is in her words, very tasty. The carers are all so good and mostly the same people, which is so important, not to mention the whole home is immaculately clean and the management are so helpful. My mum's room, which is near to the hairdresser's room, where she has her hair done every 2 weeks, and a chiropodist every 6 weeks, is better than a 5-star hotel for sure.
Since being at Ferrers Hall my mother has regained her confidence, she feels safe and secure in the knowledge that she will come to no harm and that there is always someone on hand to guide and support her. The staff are all extremely attentive to all the residents, this I have always witnessed when visiting, which is often. The team are always respectful and have a professional, friendly and positive approach to all situations. The team provide stimulating and inclusive experiences and whilst encouraging they do not force anyone to take part in anything. I have seen the benefits of these experiences first-hand, with my mother, she now has choices and purpose. As a family member, I am always kept well informed of all things relevant regarding my mother's care, this comes from not only the immediate care staff but also the management staff. Requests and suggestions that are made are always well received and acted up to if practicable and possible.
I visit Ferrars Hall 4 or more times per week so have ample opportunity to observe the facilities and treatment of mum and other residents by carers and other staff. Care and respect for residents is without exception excellent. My mum has no complaints about her treatment or food and is very happy and well entertained and cared for.
Very caring staff, lovely environment, and all food cooked from fresh. My Mum is very well looked after, safe, and content. An on-site hairdresser is much appreciated by my Mum, and also the visiting chiropodist.
My mum moved into Ferras Hall 2 weeks ago. We were all somewhat apprehensive. However, the transition could not have gone more smoothly. The practical details were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The carers helped my mum settle in by encouraging her to join in with the other residents for the morning and afternoon activities. Shared meal times in the dining room helped her to get to know staff and residents alike. In addition, the 24-hour support available has given my family and I, peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and caring environment.
Ferrars Hall is like a 5-star hotel, from the management team to the cleaners everyone is amazing. Nothing is too much for anyone to do and they are always willing to go the extra mile. Residents are extremely well treated and there are many activities and outings to stimulate and stop any boredom.
From first contacting Ferrars Hall I can only say amazing things. Extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. All the staff are kind and helpful and will go the extra mile. My father-in-law settled very quickly, which in my opinion says how professional the home is caring for him and his individual needs.
Mum's health declined quite dramatically last summer and she could no longer manage at home alone. From our first enquiry to our regular visits all staff have been welcoming and helpful. They greet residents and visitors by name. Care is exemplary and accommodation bring and always clean. Mum misses her former village, but everything has been done to help her settle. Food is varied and always looks appetising. As Mum does not have dementia she doesn't always find activities stimulating but best efforts are made and the visits that are arranged are always welcome.
The care home is great the staff, is well trained. They do their best looking after the residents. The care home is welcoming and the manager is also great and willing to help and address all problems.
This review is about my mother who is very happy and well looked after by the care staff at Ferrars Hall Care Home. The care home is well led by a good and consistent manager.
Sadly my Father passed away recently, he was one of the longest-term residents at Ferrars Hall. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Ferrars Hall for the kindness and compassion they showed to both my Father and his family. The standard of care has always been exemplary but it was especially so in the last two weeks of his life. Every need was taken care of and he was treated with great dignity and respect. The coordination with the local healthcare team was excellent. This is my second review of Ferrars Hall but I feel I must praise them for their care at the end of my Father's life. Thank you to everyone.
My father-in-law was at Ferrars on two different occasions, the first for respite and the 2nd to be there more permanently. The stage he was in with dementia made him very anxious, unsettled and unsafe on his own. He was at a very high risk of falls and was unable to care for himself. The facilities were of a high standard, as were the food, drink and activities. He was not really able to take advantage of this as he was unaware of his needs, nor was he able to vocalise them. The staff ensured he was always appropriately dressed and clean. He enjoyed the meals at the home. The home and his room were always clean. When it became more unsafe for him with this level of care, the staff at Ferrars raised this with us so that we could find somewhere able to meet his increasing needs.
We moved my father into Ferrars Hall care home after he lived with us for two and a bit years. We were concerned that he was at risk of falling because he was wandering at night and we were unable to care for him both day and night. He was in Ferrars Hall between mid June and early September 2023. Sadly he had multiple falls during that time, despite the 24 hour care provided and the last fall put him in hospital for more than two weeks with bleeds on the brain. At this point the care home refused to take him back, yet deducted a whole month of fees for time he was not in the care home which they still haven't reimbursed. We were unable to find any spare beds in other care homes in the region because of two care homes closing down at that time so had to move him to Droitwich near my brother. The care home is very nice to look at but can be short-staffed at times and we believe this contributed to the inability to monitor my father.
My father has been at Ferrars Hall Care Home for over 6 years. He has always been treated so well and his care has been faultless. Dad and all the extended family who visit him are treated like family members. All staff are very attentive and I feel so reassured that Dad is having the best care. The culture of the staff is first class. It is a very comfortable care home, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Dad thoroughly enjoys the food and the staff always tailor specific dishes when required. Without Ferrars Hall Dad would not have made such a good recovery following his stroke. All staff have gone above and beyond, and any health concerns are noted promptly and dealt with straight away by medical teams, which is reassuring for the family. Thank you all so much.
Since my mother-in-law has been in the care home, we have nothing but praise for the attention to detail of care given to her. This is our first experience with any care home, and being apprehensive about having to find a care home for her, this has been nothing more than a positive path for both her and us as a family. She is very well cared for in all aspects of her life; she has indicated to us that she is happy living there and gets on very well with the staff and careers. This puts all our concerns at ease and makes it easier for us to have a normal life as well. Thank you to all careers and all the other staff helping her.
All staff are professional and caring. Giving time and individual care for my mum. The care home is clean and welcoming, a lovely, calm environment to work and live in. I have described Ferrars Hall Care Home as “it’s just like a hotel” with its lovely furniture and upholstery too. You can phone or email anytime you need to and have always been kept in the loop by return calls and emails. I am very happy and have recommended Ferrars Hall to many people.
I visit my husband. Carers are keen to help and know more about the patient. They encourage him to become sociable. I was pleased that I could take afternoon tea with him and had my own plate of sandwiches while he ate his afternoon tea.
