View Full Details of Abbeyfield WoodlandsI would not hesitate to recommend Woodlands. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and well-presented. All the staff are dedicated to the residents and soon become family. Nothing is too much trouble and the management team is always on hand if you have any questions. You only need to go and have a look around to know it’s a very special place. Unfortunately, my mum passed away in January but the staff were at hand to help us in any way they could, at what was a very difficult time.
My mother absolutely loves living in her apartment at Abbeyfield Woodlands. She has the right balance of independence and care. She particularly enjoys the communal aspect of lunchtime, an opportunity to socialise and not cook. She raves about the choice and quality of the food. Her apartment is superbly laid out, meaning she can access the kitchen, bathroom and outdoor space with ease. The staff are excellent. They look out for her without being intrusive in any way. As a family, our only regret about Abbeyfield Woodlands is that our mother didn’t take the opportunity to move there earlier.
Excellent and professional care has been given to my mum and dad for the last two and a half years, would recommend to anyone thinking of renting a apartment. The apartment are generous in size and very comfortable.
My mum has been in Abbeyfield for just under a year now. She has had increasing care needs during this time. All the staff are fantastic, they treat her with care and dignity and will always go the extra mile to make her comfortable. They are on hand for her emergencies and check regularly when she has an issue. I cannot fault in anyway the care and consideration provided by everyone.
The first impression on entering Abbeyfield Woodlands is of a clean, modern, light and airy facility. There is always someone in the nearby office to welcome you in a professional manner. The individual apartments are roomy, light and modern. Residents can take their own furniture, which helps with settling in and making this their new home. The staff are friendly and always available. They go above and beyond to make residents comfortable. There are activities every day, quizzes, games, music events, and art activities with a designated coordinator. Food is varied with good choices every day, and the chef is always eager to make something special if needed. The grounds are well-kept, accessible, and popular with residents. The manager is easily accessible and demonstrates good leadership. A lovely place for citizens in need of some extra support to live.
Mum is celebrating her second year here and the difference it has made to her quality of life, physical health and mobility and mental health is incredible. Because of the care, companionship, support and improved diet she had transformed from being house bound to now walking 1.5 miles regularly up and down hills, and has developed a social life for the first time in years. The staff are incredibly kind, friendly and helpful creating a warm and welcoming community. They don’t talk about dignity here. They just treat everyone with respect and real affection. Being able to bring her cat with her was also an unexpected bonus and we were allowed to have a cat door put in. I had not imagined we would be able to find, or afford, such a perfect home for Mum but seeing her really enjoying her later years here is a blessing. If it were possible to pre-book a place, I would definitely be wanting to do so for my husband and I here.
My mother has been a resident here for ten years and could not be happier. The management and staff are amazing and make her feel safe and loved; they have become like family to her. She enjoys lunch every day; the cooks are amazing and accommodate her every need. The management team are very happy to help with any queries and are proactive in ensuring her needs are met. I have total confidence in the management team; they are always on hand to chat with, and I really feel they understand my mother's needs and quirks! The environment is always a happy one; it’s beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. They have a variety of entertainment, trips out and activities in the Home. The on-site hairdresser is fabulous; my mother loves having her hair done there. The gardens and outdoor space are beautiful too. I would not hesitate to recommend Abbeyfield Woodland, it gives my mother her independence but also a loving team of people looking out for her.
