View Full Details of Rush Hill MewsI am happy with every aspect of the care that my father gets at Rush Hill. It has lived up to everything said by the friends who recommended it when I was first looking to bring him down to Bath from Scotland. What I see is a home that doesn't just look to maintain its already good standards: it actively seeks to improve them, involving residents and relatives along the way. The staff are warm, welcoming, and highly competent. I admire the calm, gentle, and confident way they handle my father's moments of anxiety and anger. Through our conversations they have helped me to come more fully to terms with his dementia, so that he and I get the best out of our times together. I love the effort put into providing a wide range of daily activities. It's always good to see the pictures on Facebook, showing dad enjoying himself. And then there are the special activities: I will forever treasure the picture of dad participating in the baguette javelin event at last summer's "Olympics"!
Mum has lived at RHM since July 2024, having had 24x7 care in her house for 2 yrs. Mum has dementia which has slowly developed since her Dad passed in 2015. She's always been very sociable & active. We were worried Mum moving 25 miles to Bath (where my wife & I live) & to a care home but we brought her to RHM for a visit & she she loved it & wanted to move! I looked at all Bath dementia care homes & it was 1 of only 2 I felt happy Mum going to & it def seemed the best option & the extra cost would be worth it. It has been!! She & we are so pleased. A lovely feeling of light & space. Great, friendly staff with good comms skills, lots of staff (compared to many others) which allows them to prevent issues/deal with them quickly. That all means Mum & the residents in general always seem happy. Lots of activities, lovely food, nice garden. RHM is responsive to questions & requests & encourages relatives to come to party nights etc. It doesn't feel part of a big company. 100% recommend!
My father is living with dementia & Parkinson's and has been living at Rush Hill Mews since last summer. I think the care he gets there is excellent; the atmosphere is cosy and friendly, food is great, staff are hugely caring and compassionate and he settled in really well. It's reassuring to know he's in safe hands there. Since my dad has mobility issues, it's also so helpful to have extra services there too such as the hairdresser and podiatrist, and the staff member who organises the activities and events seems to make a huge effort to get the residents involved.
My Grandmother is very well looked after here, all staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Also impressed that there are always plenty of staff available. Now that my Grandmother is receiving full nursing care, the family are very pleased with the care and attention she gets.
Mum has been at Rush Hill Mews since the summer of 2024 having previously spent a year in a different care home. The moving in process was handled brilliantly and the staff were very welcoming and took time to help Mum settle in. The care has been excellent overall. Mum is not always a willing care receiver so the team have had to work really hard to establish trust and a positive relationship to enable care. Mum's room is a reasonable size and she really enjoys being able to walk in the garden and feed the birds. There is a good range of activities available and the team seem to listen to what residents would like and do their best to provide it. They also put on some fun events for relatives to join in socially with the residents. The food is excellent, everyone enjoys the ready supply cakes and savouries in the bistro when they visit Mum!
My mum has been at Rush Hill Mews since May 2024, I have nothing but praise for the whole team, they are all very friendly and extremely caring. They helped rehabilitate my mum after a fall where she broke her hip. Staff are always available if you have any concerns or questions, and my mum is safe and happy. I would highly recommend Rush Hill.
It is a very emotional experience to find yourself in a care home you never expected to be in. I was very nervous on my first day but I had a warm welcome from everyone. I like my room, looking out onto the garden. My room is looked after beautifully. Housekeeping and laundry service are excellent. All the carers are devoted to the residents. I find their care extraordinary, they love their job. The food is very good! We have a choice of activities each week. It all sounds much too good and at the moment it is!
This past week my partner had a major appraisal of his rehabilitation by his physiotherapy and occupational therapy team who declared him their star patient - having 'recovered' from his stroke far faster and far better than anyone possibly anticipated. Probably this was a consequence of his character, determination and the superb care he has received at Rush Hill Mews in Bath. Our thanks go especially to the wonderful Rush Hill team that, night and day, supported us both - from the welcoming smile at reception to every aspect of my partner's daily care, the delicious catering, the lovely garden and the endless effort that was taken by so many to help as much as possible - always with a wonderful smile. The staff became true friends.
Very impressed with the care, friendship and encouragement shown towards all residents by all the lovely staff. They have created a family feel environment including all visitors and loved ones in this, ensuring all relevant parties receive updates on each resident's care and well-being. I can be rest assured that when I am not able to be there my friend is in very caring hands. Would highly recommend it. Thank you.
After looking around the area for a new home for our sister Rushhill came up tops. We did not make an appointment to visit as we wanted to see how the normal day-to-day works. We were made very welcome and given a tour of the building and facilities. They answered all our questions and concerns as this was going to be a big move for our sister. All members of staff were very polite and the engagement with residents was good to see. We arrived at lunchtime and the food menus looked delicious. Our sister is living with dementia so the support and her needs are extremely important. She enjoys the facilities, entertainment and wellbeing activities. Sports day, exercise classes, singing and dancing. She enjoyed having her nails painted and being pampered. We have taken our sister out a few times but she is always happy to return. We are still learning but I would highly recommend Rushhill.
Since my mum went into care at Rush Hill Mews as a family we know that she is being well looked after. The management and all the staff are excellent in all they do. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. My mum is very happy there.
I can’t say enough thank you to the team at Rush Hill Mews. Mum was understandably anxious about moving from her long-term home but the transition to happiness at Rush Hill has been stunningly quick. Everyone at Rush Hill is so kind to Mum and so helpful. Mum is still able to enjoy visits to her previous home, and days out with family and friends, but Mum always wants to be back in time to enjoy supper at Rush Hill, a place that Mum now happily refers to as home. Thank you so much to all who have welcomed Mum and who are caring for her so compassionately and kindly.
The care staff/nurses are lovely and always go that extra mile to make sure my mum is well looked after. She has access to a doctor if she needs one which is a real bonus! The food can be inconsistent in terms of quality but trying to please all the residents, I am sure can be difficult! It was been disappointing that the hairdresser has not been that reliable but now that a new one has just started, so hopefully that has been rectified. On the whole, I am very happy with the care my mum receives at Rush Hill Mews.
My mum joined you in late January and has settled in really well and is very happy. All the team are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is lovely to see my mum with a smile on her face and saying she is happy
Mum came to live at this beautiful nursing home in August 2023. Mum is very happy being at Rush Hill Mews and she partakes in the various activities when she feels up to it. These activities are twice a day and the staff encourage the residents to join in. Mum is always treated with the utmost respect from all of the staff. They are always asking her how she is and if she needs anything. The staff are always friendly and smiling as soon as you enter the building. The menu is like something from a 5-star restaurant. The food is nutritious, piping hot and always looks very appetising. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly and Mum's clothes are always laundered promptly. The staff could not be any more helpful to both Mum and us. Questions we have are always answered by the team. We feel this is an amazing nursing home all round and are so grateful that we could get Mum here. Thank you for all that you do.
If you have to give up your own home and feel this home is a very good place to come, but like everything else in life, you have to make it work. My room is lovely and my daughter has made it like home. The reception and carers are all great and kind and couldn't be more friendly and welcoming.
I have now regarded Rush Hall Mews as my home for the last seven months. My room, my home is lovely and I have direct access to the garden. The staff here are lovely and friendly! The daily entertainment varies and is much appreciated. The food is lovely and they cater for my dietary requirements. Having my laundry done is luxurious, and my room is cleaned regularly. It almost feels like living in a stately home.
The overarching impression of Rush Hill Mews is of a happy, caring place in which the well-being of the residents is always first priority. The staff are, without exception, always welcoming and cheerful, and never mind being interrupted in what they are doing. Alongside this is a high standard of care, with excellent food! I have been very impressed with the welcome I always receive when I visit, from the reception to any staff who happen to be in the corridor, and the invitations to join in with occasional events (such as the Valentine's Day lunch, or relatives meeting) give a genuine feeling of involvement with all that is going on.
A few days before Christmas, my mother was discharged from hospital after falling and breaking her hip; her house was totally unsuitable for her, but thankfully, Rush Hill Mews had a nursing bed available. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and took great pains to make her as comfortable as possible. The communication between myself and nursing staff was very good which I appreciated at this time especially post-operation. All the staff are very friendly, caring and respectful to my mother's wishes. The home itself is clean, light and spacious and care has been taken to make it homely and comfortable. My mother really enjoys the view from her window and is very comfortable in her room - she loves the en suite and the special bed has been of huge benefit to her. On a personal level, I have found it very reassuring that I know my mother is in a warm, comfortable, caring place where she is being well looked after. I would recommend Rush Hill without any hesitation.
Rush Hill Mews is a lovely place. The bedrooms are nicely decorated and being able to put your own pictures on the walls and bits and pieces around makes them feel more homely therefore comforting. The communal rooms are lovely and bright, with nice furniture and ornaments. There are always fresh flowers around which cheers everyone up. Our mother has been at the home for a few months and loves it. She says that all the staff are kind and friendly which is lovely to hear from her. The entire team at Rush Hill are always helpful and professional and never not smiling! Every day there is some sort of entertainment or activity which our mother is enjoying more than we could imagine. Overall a lovely care home. Thank you to all of you for looking after our mother.
