View Full Details of Weald HeightsMy father has dementia & has been a resident at Weald Heights since December 2024. We have found everyone to be kind, friendly & welcoming to Dad & all our family. He has received excellent care & all the staff have worked very hard to find ways to engage him & keep him occupied. The activity programme is amazing & offers something for everyone. Dad has paritucally enjoyed the wonderful singers & musicians. The food is excellent & we all enjoy the delicious cakes in the cafe when we visit Dad. We feel Dad is extremely well looked after & treated with dignity at all times. Thank you to everyone at Weald Heights.
My husband has been a resident of Weald Heights since late December 2024. During this time, he has been treated with dignity and kindness by all the staff, and although he does not want to join all the activities, he does enjoy the musical afternoons and namaste sessions. He enjoys visits to the cafe and short walks in the garden. I am very pleased with he care he is receiving and I enjoy my visits to see him as I am met with a welcoming smile and happy greeting from all the staff.
Following a health scare my father chose to move to Weald Heights having seen the tremendous care my mother received when she was there. He knew he would be safe and happy and well looked after. At Weald Heights he really felt at home. He loved the staff and the feeling of companionship he gained from all those around him. He loved the reception room where he could read his papers and see the world by. But when his health took a downturn that was when we were simply in awe of the care that was provided. My father was so well looked after 24 hours a day, he was very old school and the respect with which he was treated was wonderful. He might have been physically frail but mentally he was switched on throughout and he would always tell me how well he was being cared for. Losing my father was incredibly sad but thanks to everyone at Weald Heights it was never distressing and we knew that my father passed with love and dignity. We could not have wished for anything more.
The staff at Weald Heights could not have been more dedicated to the care of my father in law for 18 months until he passed over. He was treated with such kindness and dignity throughout his stay. The whole team are top quality and the facilities are brilliant. We visited at different times each day and were always greeted by professional, motivated staff members.
My mother was a resident a few years ago and her experience was so good that when it came time for my father to consider assisted living, there was never a question about where he wanted to live. The home is in a fantastic location with excellent facilities, all fantastically well maintained, but it's the staff that make it so special. Incredibly high standards, all exceptional professional, kind and thoughtful which creates a wonderful atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. Truly outstanding !
After a week in hospital, Dad moved into Weald Heights 3 months ago. He has mixed dementia and doesn't know where he is, but is happy there and very comfortable. The care is outstanding and very professional. Every staff member is so kind, caring and welcoming. They have gone to great lengths to get to know Dad and us, and to find out what makes him tick and what might keep him engaged and occupied. They have even set up an 'office' for him in a corridor, where he can 'go to work'. The food and facilities are excellent. Dad likes going with us to the café and chatting to whoever is there, and has recently enjoyed coffee outside on the patio. The daily entertainments programme is fantastic, with one-to-one chats and garden walks, crafts, physical exercises, hand massage, amazing singers and musicians, and escorted minibus outings. We feel that Dad is being superbly looked after with dignity. We have no hesitation in recommending Weald Heights. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff.
My mother has adapted well to her new environment The staff are very caring, helpful and friendly She is always well dressed with her clothes washed and ironed with none ever going missing! The nursing care is exceptional providing regular feedback She joins in varied activities and musical events on a regular basis From the moment you enter Weald Heights you are made to feel welcome My mother is very happy in her new home
Visited Weald Heights to visit an old friend. I found the home to be very welcoming and friendly. The staff were professional and dealt with me and my friend with care and dignity. I was able to take tea and refreshment in comfortable surroundings. The staff appear highly motivated and happy in their work.
Great experience from the initial phone call to ask for respite for 2 weeks in 1 week's time. The positive response from a particular member of staff organised very efficiently. Lovely warm reception on our arrival. Reception staff, carers catering staff, and nurses are very caring, responsive, and kind. My father felt well looked after and it aided his recovery after a hip operation. The food was excellent, he loved talking about what he'd eaten. The cafe is a lovely place for us all. Thanks. Great experience, would recommend it to all.
Initial contact with Weald has been very positive. The staff are very welcoming and show great care and interest in not only the residents but their relatives and friends. In the short time my wife has been a resident she has felt relaxed and happy and frequently praises the quality of not only the food but the level of care and attention she receives.
My mother, who has dementia and poor mobility, has been at Weald Heights for just over a year. The staff are always caring, professional and helpful. Mum is safe, well cared for and there are always planned events to keep residents busy and entertained.
Overall a caring, well-run home. I would respectfully ask if it would be possible to put a list of unclaimed clothes in the lobby when clothes have been lost or are missing residents' names as it is distressing when items of clothing go missing. If staff do not know who clothes belong to. Thank you.
My mum continues not to engage with activities despite my telling the carers to make it her idea, i.e. "Mum you have booked to see the harpist this afternoon/entertainer it starts in 10 mins", or "Mum it's baking today - you asked to join the class so I'm letting you know it starts in 10 min etc. .....". I've even told them to phone me and I will get her to participate. This makes it her idea. It does not get the beneficial response if they say - 'the art class in on now do you want to come ?', answer 'no'. Last week she did 90 mins of activity only We chose this home as it did lots of things in a day but my mother is not doing them and for £8k a month to sit and do nothing makes me so mad! Also the laundry boil everything despite my labeled clothes and telling them I will launder her jumpers! I am loathed not to let her wear her cozy cashmere jumpers, Alpaca cardigan, Hebridean wool jacket but lazy laundry department refuses to look/feel, so shrunk clothes are in hidden wardrobe.
My father-in-law has been at Weald Heights for 4 years and is happy and well cared for. He enjoys participating in activities, going to the cinema and particularly the outings to pubs and cafes. When I visit I am always warmly welcomed by staff and I appreciate the provision of coffee and cakes! I have got to know a couple of the staff members who look after Dad and I feel that communications are good. I am very happy that he is there and would highly recommend Weald Heights.
My Aunt has been with you for some time now and has always praised the staff for the way they look after her and the comfort and cleanliness of Weald Heights. She has never passed comment to me about any problems she may incur.
My mother has been a resident at Weald Heights for just over three years. During that time her mental and physical health has declined significantly, to the extent she has been bed-bound for and has required complete nursing care for most of that time. My sister and I have nothing but the highest praise for the way the staff has looked after her. They always show great compassion and treat her with dignity, even though she can be a very difficult lady due to her vascular dementia. We are so relieved that we chose Weald Heights as we do not feel there is anywhere else where our mother could have been looked after as well. We have no hesitation in recommending it without reservation.
Although Mum has only been in Weald Heights for 2 weeks she is now settling down and enjoying making new friends. It is a great relief for us to know that she is being looked after and safe. She told me today that all the staff are very kind and helpful. She is enjoying the food and is very happy with her room. It has taken some time for her to settle but everyone has helped in a gentle way. We are so glad that we have Mum close to family and hope she spends her last years in comfort enjoying life. Thank you.
I am very happy with the care and attention my sister-in-law receives at Weald Heights. The staff are friendly and approachable, there always seems to be a happy atmosphere when I visit, I am impressed with the entertainment that is available daily. I also appreciate the wonderful cakes in the downstairs lounge along with the hot drinks, which go down very well after our fairly long journey.
My Mum, who has dementia, has received the very best care at Weald Heights. All the staff are unfailingly kind, attentive and friendly. She says the food is delicious and all the carers are very kind. She goes on some lovely trips out and enjoys a wide range of activities. She especially enjoys the visiting musicians. She loves Lola the resident dog, making friends with the other residents and going for little walks outside. Her family visit often and everyone has been delighted with the standard of care at Weald Heights. My Mum is so much happier than when she was living in her own home with a carer visiting. She is far less anxious. She can relax without having to worry about food or laundry or getting to appointments etc. She is also prompted to take baths, change her clothes and wear her hearing aids. Thank you very much to everyone at Weald Heights - the carers, the managers, the lifestyle lead, the receptionists, chefs, cleaners and maintenance staff - you've all been wonderful!
My mum has been at Weald Heights for around 9 months. During this time she has been cared for with outstanding kindness and dignity. She has been on so many trips out, including the seaside, which is fantastic. The entertainment is superb, lots of music of all kinds, with regular live performances. The amazing care staff look after her every need, they know us so well, that it feels like visiting a whole family. We couldn't be happier about our choice to have our mum looked after in such an amazing place. We are forever grateful to the staff, who work so hard to create a home-from-home feel. Thank you so much on behalf of me and my family.
