View Full Details of Lostock Lodge Care HomeThis is such a wonderful place. Immaculately maintained. It gives real hope for the care and love shown to older people who may be otherwise overlooked. The people who work at Lostock Lodge are angels.
All the staff at Lostock Lodge are extremely warm, welcoming and professional. They engage with the residents well, creating a happy and caring environment. The communication has been good and I feel well supported by management and the team whilst my mum settles into her new home. They have been adaptive to her needs and go above and beyond to ensure she is well cared for. The accommodation is great, both clean and well-maintained and the food is excellent. Overall, a very positive experience.
Found the home to be extremely clean. The staff were very professional and were very engaging with everyone and always ensured that only my friend was okay they made sure I was too.
Very helpful information from the team on the reception area as to what is going on in the home. Very clean and welcoming. Arrived just before meals and the food looked and smelt lovely. My friend is very happy there. The staff are always helpful and kind.
Visited my friend who is in the care of Lostock Lodge. Everyone is extremely helpful, polite and from what I saw the service from the staff was first rate. My friend is very happy in this home.
Care home staff always polite, friendly and helpful - senior care staff have an excellent understanding of resident health, needs and behaviours. Because I live at a distance and my parents cannot communicate well by phone, it would be good to have more regular updates, maybe on a monthly basis, and as I cannot attend relatives meetings, it would be good to have minutes recorded and available. When I do have updates, communications are clear and detailed and assessments and care plans always very transparent and well-considered. The Care Manager has a thorough understanding of my parents day to day and longer-term care needs and works to manage their care in an empathetic and supportive manner. Accommodation is clean and well-managed and drinks and food always available - social activities are varied and delivered from an enthusiastic team. Reception always responds to enquiries and requests and is a valuable link to staff and records - always friendly and understanding.
All staff polite, the home is always clean. My nan loves the activities and food and she getting there now with meeting new friends. Nan always looks happy and clean and tidy when you go. One of the activities that my Nan really liked and told us all about for weeks was the singers that came in and they were dancing with her.
A very good purpose-built facility that is fully accessible to visit at any time. The staff are caring and make my mothers enjoy her time there. The management team are easy to speak to and quickly resolve any issues. My mother highly rates the food and thinks of Lostock Lodge as her home
Overall the provision provides a good standard of care. Staff are attentive to individuals' needs and are caring towards the residents. On occasions the home does appear to be short-staffed, especially when a more needy resident takes precedence. Food is of a high standard with a good variety, and it's nice to see residents encouraged to sit at the table for their meals. Any concerns are acted upon by management and a response received in a timely manner.
The staff at this care home are incredibly considerate and kind. Our Mum is not the easiest resident to deal with as her needs are complex. The home deals with her situation really well and it provides relief to myself and my sister as we know she is being cared for and is safe. There is a genuine endeavour to want to help Mum’s condition improve/settle and we are very grateful. We would be very stuck without Lostock Lodge.
My father has been a resident at Lostock Lodge since April 2022, The care and genuine affection he receives is second to none. He is encouraged to be as independent as possible but receives help as and when needed in a very understanding way. All the team are incredibly helpful and friendly - they are Dad's extended family! I live in Portugal and the reassurance I get from knowing how well Dad is cared for is a great comfort. I am informed of any changes immediately but trust the team to manage Dad's care in his best interests. I visit for a week every month/6 weeks and during my daily visits to the Lodge I witness first-hand the upmost care and attention the staff give to all the residents, not just my father. I must also add that the food is fabulous! Such a great choice and so tasty. Even if Dad wants tea and toast at 2 am this isn't a problem! Thank you to everyone at Lostock Lodge - you are all truly amazing!
My mum struggled to settle initially due to being fully independent prior to a stroke. Since residing at Lostock Lodge Mum’s mobility and overall health has improved significantly. Mum still has a level of independence and the family have peace of mind knowing Mum is well cared for and safe. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful.
Mum was taken into Lostock Lodge originally as respite during the pandemic but ended up staying as a resident for the last 4 years. From the very beginning when we had to leave Mum at the reception, the staff were incredibly patient and caring, explaining to us what they would do to help Mum and took their time to make sure we were happy with everything they did. Whenever we visit, staff are taking care of Mum, giving her hugs and taking time to talk to her and we are fully reassured that she is receiving the best care possible. When she began to decline, we were told immediately and the staff always make sure we are fully informed of any changes in treatment or medication. We were very nervous about releasing Mum from our care but we know she is getting A-star class care at Lostock, from staff who know Mum and her condition better than we do, and provide the care, understanding and patience she needs, probably better than we could. A fantastic team all round, thank you, Lostock.
Mum was taken as a respite case originally then due to a change in circumstances she is now a permanent resident with dementia. The home has been amazing all the way. Staff can’t do enough to help. Due to my location, I am unable to visit as much as I’d like but the staff make sure I have regular updates, she is now engaged in activities which is brilliant to see. They have helped with other medical conditions making sure she has the right care from the GP. It’s lovely to see the pictures on social media of her enjoying herself. Food options are good with various options per meal. Snacks and drinks are always available and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I was very apprehensive about Mum going into a home, but Lostock Lodge has surpassed all expectations. I would recommend this home to everyone. Staff fully engage with the residents and understand that each person is an individual and has different care and support needs. Excellent home.
It has taken a couple of years for me as a relative to feel listened to. My mum is unable to make her views clear and needs support in all areas of her care. I now feel she is very well looked after. The food is excellent and mum has put on weight. The wellbeing team are now active and tries and provide a wide range of activities. The staff know Mum’s needs and are so friendly and approachable. They have not only given mum support but I’m given support too from some of the staff. It isn’t easy being a relative going to see your loved one and I do feel this is an area that still needs more understanding. Everyone has different experiences with the care their loved ones receive and I do feel that at times I’ve had to chase things up more than I should have done especially when it comes to more personal care and care plans being updated. Very little interaction with the manager but care staff, hospitality and housekeeping are excellent.
Mum who has vascular dementia aged 94 is so well cared for, it gives us peace of mind. After a recent fall and visit to the hospital, the care staff do their best to keep her moving and as independent as possible. The attention to detail regarding her independence I cannot fault. The kindness shown by all the staff here is remarkable considering the challenges dementia brings. We as a family feel very supported.
Mum (94) moved into Lostock Lodge 4 months ago and settled quite quickly. She is well looked after and treated with kindness. The staff are friendly and cheerful, any requests to help mums wellbeing are addressed efficiently. They keep me informed of any issues about my mum.
Always a welcome when we come to the home. The home is always in an immaculate condition. The residents always look cared for and are kept clean. Senior care staff are always available to discuss any questions.
Mum was at Lostock Lodge for four years until June 23. Her care was incredible. Her end-of-life care, I have no words - 41 hours I sat with Mum, and the staff were amazing! If I needed a 10-minute break, somebody sat with her, never was she left alone! She was able to die with dignity and peace. The staff knew her like her own family; they became her family! Her independence was never taken away from her; she was encouraged always to do things for herself. Oh, a final note, the food! Oh my goodness, fresh every day, and the cakes I will miss! What a chef they have! Thank you to everyone - I will miss my visits.
I would like to thank the staff and management for their care and patience looking after my Mum, they have gone out of their way with the ongoing care they provide, we are very grateful. Thank you for all your support.
