View Full Details of Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery HealthcareOverall my experience of placing my precious mum into care at Astbury Manor has been a positive one. Each member of staff always tries their best and if you ask for advice they will give it to you. Negotiating what mum's needs are and how they will be met has been my personal biggest challenge. I must commend the senior staff for help in navigating this difficult but essential letting go process with kindness, deep compassion, and integrity. It is mum's family now and she is blessed. Mum is thriving and much more relaxed. Thank you to each member right across the home, you each play an equally important part.
Well, I'm overwhelmed with the support and care given to my mum on her respite stay. I left them with a lady who was suddenly falling a lot, they kept me informed and supported Mum wonderfully. All the staff are very cheerful and all staff have a rapport with every resident. Thank you all from management down to all care staff for their support of me and Mum.
My mother has been a resident for six months and has settled in well. This is due to the diligence and care of the staff. It is a safe, clean and comfortable environment, with staff who provide personalised care and support. My mother's complex needs are understood due to their effectiveness of care. There is a wide range of activities to cater for all the individual needs of the residents and a good quality of food choices. My family and I are very happy with the care that my mother is receiving.
Nan has used this service for around 6 months and has settled in wonderfully. We know that she is always safe and supported well by the staff. The level of care is fantastic, and Nan has expressed how much she enjoys being here and chatting with staff and other residents. You can really see the care and attention they put into each resident. The home is very communicative, and the staff liaise with us continually surrounding Nan's care and progress. I feel very content knowing Nan is here and receiving such a high level of care.
Activities not used, except 2 quizzes and a couple of films. Short walks in the garden are appreciated.
The team have been instrumental in supporting both Mum and I in the transition to a care home. I had many questions and many 'What if...' scenarios that were answered honestly and with empathy. I wasn't sure a care home was the right place for Mum, but Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare is a wonderful place with caring, kind staff. Mum is content, enjoys having other people to chat to and said that she feels very safe there. Whenever I visit, Mum is busy! She's either involved in an activity, watching an old film in the Cinema Room or getting her hair done at the Salon. I really feel the positive experience is owed to the team.
Astbury Manor Care Home is five star. My mother is extremely happy at Astbury Manor. All the staff are great, the receptionist staff are amazing and so friendly. I would highly recommend Astbury Manor. Every time I visit my mother she tells me how happy she is that she moved there. Well done to all.
I could not be more happy with the care my stepmother is receiving. I was very apprehensive about moving her into care but she is happy, well looked after and has developed excellent relationships with many of the team who care for her. Everyone seems to have her best interests at heart and respond to any confusion with kindness and professionalism. I also want to mention the office team - I am always phoning or emailing questions or requests and they are always responsive and helpful.
Mum has been a resident for over eight months. My brother and I had to make a very difficult decision to move Mum out of our old family home and into a care home. After visiting a few care homes and not feeling overly reassured, we then happened upon Astbury Manor. As soon as we entered Astbury Manor, I felt immediately comforted and knew this would be home from home for Mum. We have no regrets now in making this decision and know that Mum is being well cared for with dignity and respect. I can always get hold of Mum on the phone and visiting hours are never an issue. All staff from front of house to back of house have a very positive, welcoming and caring attitude. For the first time in many years, I genuinely feel relaxed knowing Mum is safe and secure. I think Mum now has a better social life than me as there are always daily activities to keep her busy and she is never alone unless she wants some quiet time to herself. All in all, I cannot recommend Astbury enough.
My mother has been at Astbury Manor for quite a few years now since it first opened. She has been extremely well cared for by all members of staff. She requires a lot more care now as her dementia has deteriorated a lot within the last year. I feel that the staff go out of their way to make sure that all her needs are met and are always open for discussion with regards to her well-being and the best way to achieve suitability for her requirements at this stage of her life. I always receive up-to-date information with regard to her medical needs and any treatment she may require. This gives me total peace of mind knowing that she is well cared for. The staff are always open to listen if I have any concerns. I feel that the staff are making sure that my mother is as comfortable as possible and ensure safeguarding is adhered to.
My grandma came in for 2 weeks respite in October 2022. Astbury Manor was the first home we looked at as it's the first time we have needed to look for alternative care options. The Customer Service Manager was amazing showing us around and straight away we felt at ease with how informative she was on everything that goes on during the days and nights and we knew grandma would be well looked after here! All the carers looking after grandma were always happy to do anything for her and always so chatty with us when we came in to visit. She was clean, happy and very content while staying here which put us at ease too. Great facilities, always clean when we came in and great food! When we have to look into extra help for grandma again, Astbury Manor will be our first option for sure. Thank you to all the carers for all looking after grandma so well!
The staff are approachable and are caring towards the clients. The facilities are clean and welcoming. Catering is very good and we are confident the clients are well cared for. Although the staff are approachable it would be welcoming to have them approach us when we visit with an update on how our loved one has been since our last visit.
Mum has previously stayed in a different care home, however, after a respite stay at Astbury Manor she changed her view and asked to live there on a permanent basis. This was a real change for mum as she was determined to stay in her own home. However, the staff, the care, the atmosphere, the facilities and the food helped mum to make this decision.
Everybody took such loving care to make sure I was happy and comfortable. Checked on regularly day and night to make sure I was alright. Every one of the staff was wonderful.
My father has been staying as a resident at Astbury Manor Care Home since September 2021. I have been very happy with the care being provided and the attitude and professionalism of all staff. I feel very comfortable that my father is getting a well-tailored care plan, consistently executed, with a very personal touch. I am always kept well up to date with my father's care and needs, and feel very welcome when visiting, with all staff clearly knowing how my father has been. The facilities, look, and feel of the care home are excellent but more importantly, is the care and compassion received by my father from all the staff - most reassuring.
Regarding my review on cleanliness, this applies mainly to my husband's bathroom which on occasions has required the toilet cleaning, and on numerous occasions, there have been no towels. Also in my opinion the towels are in need of renewal. Occasionally I have found the general toilet in need of cleaning. As far as the food is concerned, I can only comment on my husband's opinion which is that portions are rather large and supper too early. Could be more variety.
It was a difficult decision to make and even looking around the home for the initial visit was difficult emotionally, however, on meeting with the staff and in particular the Customer Services Manager, her care, support, and compassion was outstanding. Found the home to be welcoming, warm and comfortable. Loved the decor and the general layout. Having looked around a few homes around Bracknell, this just felt right. It looks more like a 5-star hotel than a residential home. Friendliness of all staff as we come and go, and able to take Dad out freely with no restrictions or the feeling of breaking free a prisoner. I am very happy and relaxed he is in safe hands and in a warm secure home.
I cannot rate Astbury Manor highly enough. At very short notice they got mum in for respite care after an illness and she stayed for a month. The care she received was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, even when she decided she would like to move rooms. In fact when she decided to move rooms one of the carers said she would get mum to meet all the residents on that floor for dinner the night before the move, so thoughtful. The home is spotless and very well staffed and they ensure the complete safety of the residents with excellent Covid protocols. The meals are of a very high standard, and mum could have a glass of wine with lunch and dinner, a real treat for her. They catered so well for her as she has trouble eating, and would ensure that if needed something soft and easy to eat was prepared. There was always something going on and mum loved the cinema room. They really take care that the residents' dignity is preserved. Thank you to the Customer Service Manager and all the team.
The staff at Astbury Manor have been friendly, welcoming, and incredibly kind. They made my mum feel so welcome. They were also very patient with all of my questions! The activities are all well thought through and there is a very calm and happy atmosphere.
My Father stayed at Astbury for 2 weeks of respite care and also with a view to actually becoming a resident. The staff were exceptional and made him feel so welcome, they adjusted to what his needs were without hesitation. The facilities were of a very high standard, my Father commented that the food and the choices available were also to a high standard. I would highly recommend Astbury to my friends and family either as a respite care option or as a permanent care option.
