View Full Details of Mountview Care HomeDad originally went into Mountview for two weeks of recuperation after a pelvic fracture, which he then extended for another two weeks. Two days after he'd gone back home he declared he wanted to go back full time which was a great comfort to us as we knew he'd be safe there. He really enjoyed living at Mountview as the staff were very friendly and very caring and he was well looked after. The nice thing is that over the year he was there, there was minimal turnover of staff which created a very nice caring atmosphere. There are activities on offer every morning and afternoon but it's not a problem if you don't want to get involved. The staff were exemplary during Dad's last few weeks, making sure he was comfortable and also making sure any family visitors were fed and watered. The homemade biscuits and cakes are very good! I cannot thank Mountview enough and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
Sadly, our mother was hospitalised for 4 weeks following several falls. On arriving at hospital, where she had travelled unaccompanied by any staff from the care home, I was shown photographs of a large bedsore on her buttock (a 'never event' according to the NHS) and another on her heel. These were obtained during her time at Mountview. We were told by the home that she had Impetigo (a highly contagious skin disease caused by poor hygiene). Even if this were the case, it still reflects appallingly on the home. Cosmetically, this home ticks most of the boxes, and some of the staff who work there are genuinely caring individuals. Unfortunately, our experience was devastating and highlighted the shortcomings of care, empathy and compassion that she was often met with. Avoid!
My sister who sadly passed away in Mountview in December had been a resident for nearly 6 years in all that time she was cared for with total love and affection by all staff at all times. I never heard her complain about anything and for me, I couldn't think of anywhere better to have a loved one reside either for short or long-term care. These places come at an expense but in my experience, Mountview is exceptional in its approach to caring for those who need it.
Mum has been at Mountview for 6 months now and we are so pleased that we chose this care home for her. The staff do a great job. They are cheerful, friendly and supportive to families as well as residents and are very caring, they know Mum so well and she enjoys living here. Mountview has a wonderful family feel about it that makes it a truly welcoming and homely place to live.
I have just completed the repatriation of my 75-year-old sister back to the UK after 55 years in Canada. I visited 8 homes to review and compare. Mountview came tips by miles. The home is clean, bright and cheery. The staff are friendly, smiley and very helpful - great place.
Dad appears to be very well cared for. The staff are always welcoming whenever I visit. The building is very well designed for ease of access and social areas. Knowing the high standard of care has greatly reduced stress levels for Mum and the rest of the family.
My father was 100 years old when he came to the care home and was there for 10 weeks before he sadly passed away. Every single member of staff treated him with care, empathy and respect. making his short stay there as pleasurable as it could have been. The home is very clean and well furnished, the rooms are lovely and nothing is too much trouble in making his room 'home from home'. The staff cheerful and positive and always something happening, and plenty of entertainment. Family welcome to come and visit at any time. Would highly recommend Mountiew to any friends.
The care and attention my husband received during the two months he was with you was exemplary. I would not like to pick out any individual as all from management down to cleaner were kindness itself.
The home really is a home from home. Staff are caring, kind and compassionate often going above and beyond creating an atmosphere of extended family. Rooms are large, well-equipped and nicely decorated. The home is spacious, has exceptional facilities and is always clean and tidy. The food is freshly cooked and is varied, healthy and delicious. I am always impressed with the home and its staff when I visit my aunt. I have no hesitation in recommending Mountview.
My mum has been in Mountview since 2018 and has been very happy there. The staff, facilities and activities are excellent providing Mum with a safe and secure environment in which to live. In my opinion, Mountview is an excellent residential care home which I would strongly recommend.
Very friendly staff. Great enthusiasm!
The home is a lovely place. Most of the staff are lovely and really good at their job. Some, it would be nice if they would be a little more welcoming. I understand if it a times a very challenging job. The receptionist at the weekends is lovely and always has a welcoming smile. Overall, a nice home.
I was really glad to see where my sister was living, as I was concerned because she moved from very near me in Rochester, Kent to live near her son who lived in Loughborough. But once I had visited and seen the care home, her lovely room and all the facilities there were for her to use, I felt so relieved and happy, especially when I met some of the staff and saw her laughing with them when I arrived. All the staff were very professional and caring.
Once again, very impressed with the home. Mum has been able to settle in very quickly due to the excellent care and support of everyone working at the home. The facilities are wonderful and Mum has everything she needs that she had at home, plus lots of daily activities. She is particularly fond of the homemade cakes and desserts. We have such peace of mind knowing Mum is at Mountview.
Mum has now been at Mountview for 14 months. I can honestly say that every single time I visit, generally twice each week, it is a positive experience. Mum is always very well cared for and relaxed, which is lovely to see. Mum enjoys her own company but joins in the activities that she enjoys, and the staff are always happy to help her get to them. She has made friends with several residents and staff. As a family, we were extremely concerned that Mum would not adapt, but we all agree that it is the best thing that we have done for her and Mum is very happy.
My mum’s been a resident at Mountview for more than a year and I only have praise for the care she is receiving. The staff are excellent and the facilities are second to none. In my view, my mum couldn’t be in better hands.
I have been a visitor for over two years now, calling almost every day. On every occasion, Mountview is clean, calm, professional and caring staff at every turn. I am always made welcome. The resident I visit is always well cared for. I come into contact with not just the carers, but the management team, cleaners, hairdresser and kitchen staff, I know them all very well - they are like a big extended family. I would recommend Mountview to anyone who wants an exceptionally high standard of care for their loved one.
Absolutely home from home for my mother, who with her dementia can be very awkward and difficult at times. The home take care, make sure she is well looked after, clean, tidy and well-dressed at all times.
Mountview Care Home took my husband for respite care at short notice. They were efficient and he settled in. His conditions were not easy for staff to deal with but they all managed. It became clear that my husband needed nursing care and so, after six weeks, he left to enter a nursing home.
Fabulous care home and incredible staff. My mum has vascular dementia and after a recent hospital admission, we realised she could no longer live independently. Unfortunately, she didn’t think she was ready for a care home. The staff could not have been more helpful, talking us through the process and giving us an extensive tour of Mountview. They visited my mum and talked her through the process and were really understanding with her. She moved in, initially, on a respite basis but this was soon permanent. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. There is an extensive program of activities every day and even trips out. The food is great and all homemade. It’s been a difficult process made much easier by the wonderful staff.
