View Full Details of Daffodil Lodge Care HomeMum was a resident of Daffodil Lodge from January 2023, until March 2024, and during that time she was cared for with respect and dignity from all of the fantastic staff. She was originally there for a 6-week assessment, which became permanent, and as her daughter I really could not have chosen a better home for Mum. She enjoyed all the activities Daffodil put on, and loved having her hair and nails done - we had Mum's 90th birthday last year, and all the staff went above and beyond to give her a day to remember - something Mum's family will always remember. For anyone looking for respite, short/long term care for their loved ones, I would have no hesitation in recommending Daffodil Lodge, they gave Mum a home-from-home environment, her every need was taken care of, they were so considerate of her family also.
I have found some staff very good however far too many agency staff: different companies. Residents with dementia need regular faces and more input from staff without having to be told to carry out activities. Organised activities are very good but staff should be doing more throughout the day.
Wonderful staff. Good food. Very helpful people run the place. Could not ask for better.
Regular updates given. Informed of any issues/sickness immediately. Layout of lounges small and not always a member of staff in the lounges at anyone time which is a falls risk for patients with dementia. Manager passionate about her job and the residents.
Mum has been a resident since 2020. Her mental well-being has greatly improved since being at Daffodil Lodge Care Home. The staff are wonderful, the activities are amazing and I cannot praise enough the care that Mum has received. Due to health and personal reasons, I cannot visit Mum but I know she is well cared for, loved and happy at Daffodil Lodge. I am kept up to date with her care at all times and it is so reassuring. Thank you.
Excellent staff and regular activities and outings for the residents. Highly recommend. My mother is very happy at Marina Care Home.
I am very pleased with the experience and service provided to my mum. She has been a resident since the opening of the home and really is happy here. The staff are great with her and take care of her. I would suggest her room is in need of decorating, this hasn't been touched in her time living there, with the renovation of the top floor it would be appreciated if current residents also got use of the makeover.
My husband has now been in Daffodil Lodge Care Home for seventeen months. The whole team on all levels are very conscientious, helpful, kind and caring, which means so much to know my husband is well looked after in a happy and safe environment.
Due to a poor experience with a previous home, we moved Mum to Daffodil Lodge Care Home on a recommendation. We have been absolutely delighted with the wonderful, homely atmosphere within the home. All the staff treat Mum with the utmost respect, I have also witnessed this with the other residents too. Mum is cared for very, very well. I visit the home very regularly and I am always welcomed in, regardless of time. Mum is always happy to chat with the staff and smiles when she chats with them. Highly recommended!
Staff are excellent and always ensure to contact if needed. Care is second to none and staff are welcoming and cheerful whenever we come to visit.
My husband has been in Daffodil Lodge for five months. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked for him but that is not a reflection on the care he has received. The home is kept spotlessly clean, the laundry service is excellent. My husband had a really nice room. The staff are very caring and have been very supportive. The food is good. Occasionally personal hygiene has been a problem but overall Daffodil Lodge is like a big family and would use it again.
The staff at Daffodil Lodge are wonderful, very professional and kind, caring and makes me feel happy that I know her every need is cared for as though she was at home with me. Words cannot express how happy I am and so grateful to the staff as to how well look after and tend to my wife's every need. Thank you so much.
My brother resided at Daffodil Lodge for twelve months until his death in January 2022. Due to Covid restrictions, I was not able to visit him inside the home until he was on end of life. However, there were times when I could take him out and he enjoyed this and always told me how good the food was. The staff were very helpful and kept me informed of his condition as he had Alzheimer's.
The staff are very caring and attentive. They looked after my elderly mother until the end and the staff could not have done more - they also helped to arrange birthday parties and included the residents in activities over Christmas and the New Year. Such happy memories.
Dad was a resident at Daffodil Lodge from June 2021 to January 2022. He settled in very well and we were able to fully utilise the fab location for twice-weekly wheelchair walks in the sunshine along the marine lake. I didn't get to go inside much due to Covid restrictions but needed to on a couple of occasions. The interior is very homely, welcoming and unpretentious. The focus is on giving honest, warm-hearted and supportive care. The staff are attentive, whilst also focussed appropriately on maintaining high Covid standards. The food looked tasty and appropriate. The Facebook page is welcome, even for me as a local. Dad sadly became bed-bound following a recent hospital visit and has now needed to move. We are really sad about this but understand his care needs have changed and wish the staff and residents at Daffodil Lodge all best wishes. With grateful thanks to the team.
Due to present situation I cannot comment on certain things. I haven't seen my husbands room, however, he is very happy with it. I'm impressed with their safety arrangements for visiting during Covid. The staff seem to be very efficient, friendly and helpful, no hesitation in arranging for my husband to go to hospital when they were concerned, also very supportive to myself. After 40 years of marriage, being separated, even my husband having dementia, is a shock.
The staff are always friendly and helpful when I phone they have provided a clear indication about Mum's health and wellbeing. As I live a long way from Daffodil Lodge it's always good to see photos of mum and the activities she has been doing. I look forward to being able to visit soon.
My mum who is nearly 94 has been in Daffodil Lodge for well over 3 years. During this time she has been very pleased with the care and attention she has received from all the staff. I also have been very happy with the calls I have received from the care people saying that my mum is fine and gosh we had a good laugh today. My mum unfortunately slipped and broke a bone in her leg, the response and help from the staff was incredible, kind, caring and loving. Their attention to detail in Daffodil is super. The rooms are kept clean and tidy. The food is always yummy my mum says. So you need a loved one well looked after, just plonk a yellow flower in your thoughts...Daffodil Lodge.
Very caring and compassionate staff, particularly during lockdown while I have been unable to visit as mum is bed-bound. I really appreciate the steps they have taken to keep mum safe in these difficult times. I originally chose the care home because the staff were very accommodating and its a good location. This meant we would be able to take her out in her wheelchair as it is walking distance from the marina, a park and nice streets, and although we are not able to utilise this any longer it was very useful when she first moved in.
Recently I had a friend who stayed at Daffodil Lodge for a respite period. She was very happy at the home and said that the staff were lovely and very caring. She said that she felt very safe at Daffodil Lodge and if she needs to come back for another respite stay she wouldn't hesitate but to request returning to Daffodil Lodge.
