View Full Details of Pear Tree CourtThe Pear Tree Court has been a wonderful care home for my father during his stay there. The staff, carers and nurses have been outstanding and I cannot fault them. They are kind, caring and very understanding. My father is very happy at Pear Tree Court and this to me is paramount in my father's welfare. I go home contented knowing he is being looked after and cared for 100% 24/7. All the team are kind and very caring.
My nan has been in Pear Tree Court since January and is settling in nicely. She has already been moved rooms to one with a garden view which hopefully she will get to see soon but has been very poorly since Christmas when she was in hospital with flu and pneumonia. The care staff are very attentive to detail and making sure she has everything she needs. The chef also is great and knows her favourite foods. The facilities are good and there is a cafe where you can make yourself coffee and there are homemade goods for all to eat. Upstairs there is a cinema for the residents which has even been made to look as such with proper seats. All the staff and reception are very welcoming and friendly. You can visit as much as you like. I am especially impressed with the timetable that goes out every week with different events and sometimes birthdays that they can all participate in. Hopefully nan will get better soon and enjoy some of these.
Pear Tree Court is a wonderful place in all respects. The staff are amazing and work so hard to ensure all the residents' needs are met. Mum has been there for 18 months and is very happy, she has made friends and has the choice of many activities if she wishes to join in. There is a hair salon too and also regular pampering sessions where Mum has her nails painted which she loves. Pear Tree Court has a very homely feel and is beautifully furnished and comfortable. The food is very good and the chef always ensures residents favourites are on the menu. There are no restrictions for visiting and there is a lovely coffee shop and garden area. I attend the regular relative meetings, which are held by the management and are very helpful in hearing about future plans and events and a chance to ask questions. Although the management have an open-door policy so it's always easy to speak to them should you need to.
Pear Tree Court is a lovely place. Not at all the typical idea we have of care homes. It is bright, modern, clean and beautifully decorated. Very well laid out with lots of lovely rooms for activities or quiet moments should you need them. There is a coffee shop with drinks and cakes for residents and visitors and a large garden. The dining room is lovely with amazing food on offer with a change of menu every day. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and everyone greets us cheerily. Our Mum has her door open so staff and other residents often pop in for a chat or wave as they go by. It has been a big adjustment for our Mum and not without difficulties but after a few months she is feeling much more settled. It has been a huge relief for our family to know that she has 24 hour care and is safe. One issue is that staffing levels are not always as good as they should be. Our Mum has sometimes still been in bed until late morning when visitors arrive. Care on the whole is great.
Pear Tree Court has a warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff are very welcoming to us and very caring towards our loved ones. The accommodation is first class and refreshments are always available for both residents and visitors. The decor is pleasing to the eye, homely, and well thought out. The building is secure and safe for the residents although staffing levels as always in nursing homes could be improved; the staff however who are here, work hard and cover their respective areas of responsibility very well. Nursing care is good. The doctor visits every week. Amenities for the residents are good, with plenty of activities to keep those able happy, including arts and crafts, singers, music, and trips out. (And much more).
Our mum has been a resident of Pear Tree Court for four months now. In that time we have been quite blown away by the warmth, energy, and fun that has been shown to Mum. From the lovely atmosphere in the coffee shop to the amazing in-house activities to the outings - including a boat trip on Southampton harbour - to the exceptional level of one-to-one connections with the care team and mum's meds, it's been a reassuring and comforting journey for us. Mum often says to us that she's in the right place. She has more fun and laughter and nonsense than she ever had living on her own. It's an amazing residence!
My experience of the care home is that it is all good. I can go to the care home when I like to see my mum and it is all ways in a clean and I can speak to staff about what is going on with my mum, thank you.
Pear Tree Court is a friendly, comfortable , safe home, the staff are so helpful, nothing is too much. My husband really enjoyed his respite stay. The food is good, and the rooms are very nicely decorated. On a nice day the garden is lovely to sit in, with a nice coffee from the coffee shop, lots of flowers and lots of birds come to visit.
Very friendly and helpful, they make it feel like home.
My mother came to Pear Tree Court after suffering multiple hip dislocations, and a right hip 'revision' (replacement). Mum didn't really want to go into a Care Home but I convinced her, particularly as I no longer drive and she would be close to me. Personally, I think the care she has received has been outstanding. The staff are very supportive and caring and Mum's experience has given me some peace of mind. The only downside is that Mum has stayed in her room and has not wanted to go to the dining room, one of the many lounges, cinema room, bar or garden so I cannot comment on these facilities. Hopefully, Mum can start to go out and get the full experience.
My dad used to live alone in his house for over 30 years until he was unable to look after himself properly after a fall. Losing one's independence can be difficult to adjust to and moving to a new environment only compounds the fear of change. Although Dad has only been at Pear Tree Court for a few months he has settled in very easily under the circumstances. The highlight has been the home's agreement for Dad to have his mobility scooter stationed outside of his room and allow him free access to use it to travel around the village at his leisure. This single act has granted him some of the independence he missed, as he has already travelled to the local pub for Sunday lunch.
Very impressed with the staff and the care team. The communication is excellent both by phone and email. I could trust them with the medication my mother needed. A homely atmosphere and able to visit 24/7. I would recommend Pear Tree Court.
My aunt fought against going into a care home for a long time but really was not safe at home. Following a recommendation she agreed to try Pear Tree for two weeks and decided after a week to stay! She is a very different woman now - it's as if a weight has been lifted off her. The staff are all lovely and there are so many activities including outings. She loves the bingo! The coffee lounge is very handy. I would thoroughly recommend Pear Tree Court.
Led by dedicated management, the hard work of the various teams at Pear Tree Court providing good nutrition, social enrichment, control of medications and a safe comfortable environment, is evident on a daily basis. Thank you.
I looked at many homes before deciding on this one for my Mum. She needed support after two months in hospital. The first month has been one of adjustment for Mum from her own house to a home, so there have been some ups and downs. Overall it is fabulous, and compared to other homes I visited it is bright, modern, clean, nicely maintained and the staff are very friendly. Mum loves the food, and the chef has gone the extra mile to get her things she enjoys. The activities coordinator has also worked hard to get Mum engaged and enjoying activities. I love that it is dog-friendly so Mum’s dog can visit, and the coffee shop for residents and visitors is great, as is the hair salon. The only issues at the moment are the irregularities in getting Mum up and dressed in the mornings, which is not always done at a time she would choose and she gets anxious if there are visitors coming or activities on. Overall we are very pleased so far.
I cannot fault anything at Pear Tree Court. All of the staff are warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and every member of staff has taken the time to know the residents as individuals. Pear Tree Court is always clean and well-maintained, both inside and outside. There are so many activities for residents to join in with and it feels like family.
The care, love understanding, and attention my Mother gets is exemplary from every member of staff. Safety is a high priority. As a family member, it is a very traumatic and worrying time to admit your loved one in care. A certain member of staff made the process smoother, answered all my questions, walked me through the process, and made my personality-less anxious. Pear Tree Court has a needs improvement CQC rating in 2021 he was upfront about this, which impressed me and I appreciated his honesty. I did research this before and concluded it was several years ago, but I thought I would visit, and glad I did. I don't believe they would get this rating now as I have found nothing but good practice and care. Pear Tree Court facilities are modern with a homely feel, including the rooms. Nice gardens and there is a cinema room, hairdressers, café, bar with pool table available. Nice clean dining room and lounges. The food is good and varied. They do a good variety of activities and 1-1s. Highly recommend!
The first time I walked into Pear Tree I felt that this was the place that I wanted my Dad to be. It had a nice aura about it and I knew for the first time in a long time that he would be safe. The staff has been brilliant and it was great for them to tell me stories about my Dad hunting constantly for food (even though he had just eaten) and some of the other things he gets up to which tells me they adopt a very 'hands-on' approach and go out of their way to help and make him feel comfortable. Also, credit for finally managing to get him out on trips, etc... he was adamant he wanted to go nowhere but now I see him visiting all sorts of places. When I hear staff saying that they love their jobs and their residents you know you have made the right decision.
My dad was a resident up until his death. He was made to feel welcomed and well cared for. He was a member of the Pear Tree family. Enjoying the amenities and trips out. He always complimented how wonderful the food was. Dad was known as the ice cream man as every day at 3 pm he had his ice cream - all this facilitated with care. Thank you for making Dad’s final months comfortable and welcoming. I live in Ireland and I felt comforted that Dad was well cared for.
As my daughter remarked to me; you would have to go a long way to find anywhere else where all the workers look and act as if they really are happy and enjoying their work. All staff go out of their way to make sure that the residents are superbly looked after and are content. My special diet was always ready without any fuss or problems. A big thank you to all staff.
