View Full Details of Bridge House Care HomeTo have to move a loved one from hospice to a nursing home is frightening. But from the lovely receptionist, nurses and carers at Bridge House Care Home, we were looked after as a family. My sister, the patient, received all the medical attention she needed along with all the care and kindness. The staff are like one big family and work together to ensure patients are happy and go the extra mile to make sure all their needs are catered for. A great big thank you Bridge House for helping us through a traumatic time. We will always be grateful.
All the staff, from management down to carers and cleaners, were brilliant. Nothing was too much. Everything that Mum required in her final weeks of life was provided to make her feel comfortable and at ease. Communication was excellent, especially when it was said that she didn't have long to live, giving us the opportunity to be with her for her final breath. Spotlessly clean and more like a five-star hotel with first impressions putting us at ease meaning it was a pleasure to visit.
Do not look anywhere else, the staff in Bridge House Care Home are sent from heaven. My mum's time in care could not have been better, not only did they care for my mum, they cared for every visitor she had. The facilities are wonderful.
My mum was at Bridge House Care Home from October to December for two months. Mum, very sadly, passed away there on Thursday 5th December. We were so very impressed at how staff from all levels showed so much dignity and respect to Mum and us at this very difficult time. We feel very lucky that our mum was able to spend the last few months of her life in this nursing home and to receive the care, support and humour that the staff provided. Huge thank you to everyone.
I attended a relatives meeting at the care home to listen and contribute, the meeting was very well put together making sure all relevant points were covered according to the agenda and also any issues that we had were answered and made note of, the meeting was attended by different staff from different departments so all questions where given a appropriate answer, all the information was put to us in a very professional manner making sure that we understood all the points.
Thanks for all the care you gave my dad. He was only with you a short time, five months, you made a huge difference, looking after Dad who couldn't do anything for himself due to late-stage Alzheimer's. As sad as it is to know he has passed, you gave us the last day with him and supported us, as a family, up to his last breath, contacted the funeral director for us too, we will always remain grateful. The home itself, all staff/carers, we will always remember your dedication and dignity to Dad. Thank you.
My mother moved into Bridge House Care Home in August. She was allowed to bring some furniture and pictures which helped her settle in. The staff are all wonderful. They are very patient and look after all of the residents very well. She is taken into the shared dining room every day which is good because there is always something happening. Very pleased she is at Bridge House.
Our dad was a resident of Bridge House Care Home, for what turned out to be the final four months of his life. Bridge House was welcoming from the first visit, with easy visiting access at all times. Dad was on floor two and his family want to express thanks for the professionalism and care shown to dad by all the staff. While there were a few teething issues getting Dad settled, these were soon sorted. The whole family were grateful for the efforts made by the nursing staff in particular, to keep Dad out of hospital and make sure he was settled and happy. We are grateful that he was able to spend his final days at Bridge House being looked after by staff who knew him and cared for him. We are also grateful for the help and support given to the family during this time. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bridge House.
All round, great experience, would highly recommend this care home. Staff and management are brilliant. They really looked after my mother in her last year of life. Thanks for the care and help. We would use again.
I wanted to give a shout out to all the amazing staff on floor 2 who made dad's last 12 months of his life as comfortable and happy as possible. There were a few hiccups in the early days, which are to be expected, and were sorted quickly. Dad's wellbeing and care was their priority, even though he could be very challenging at times, they knew how to handle him whilst still being respectful and understanding. I know he was happy most of the time but unfortunately dementia played a big role in changing his personality and him as a person. However he still had his cheeky banter, joked and laughed with a few of the staff who understood him and laughed with him. Which made him a happy man. Dad was looked after with dignity right up to his final days. Thank you so much from us both.
A safe and secure environment which has allowed my uncle to live without worry for our family.
My mum went into the home quite quickly following an end of life diagnosis. She was on floor 2. We had been recommended the home via colleagues at work as I work for the NHS in the area. The treatment and care my mum received was amazing. She thrived in the home and stayed with us a bit longer than we expected. The nurses were great, caring and kind and always spent time with mum when we could not be there. There was a real family feel in the ward that is hard to put into words. At the end, the level of care that she and my family received was second to none. They made the hardest days much better, getting us drinks and food and even laying a mattress down for us to sleep on so we could stay with her. For this I cannot thank them enough. They stayed with her until the end and for this I will be eternally grateful.
The care on Floor 2 is amazing. My husband had a really bad pressure sore the nursing staff cleaned and redressed the wound as advised by tissue viability. And a Big thank you to the care staff who turned him every two hours day and night as per protocol never moaning about his challenging behaviour to me, they are so kind to my husband and myself. The wound has now healed but still, the staff care for him so well making sure it doesn't break down again. I am truly grateful for everything that they do. All the staff are a credit to you, nursing staff, caregivers and hostesses, laundry ladies even the maintenance man everyone is amazing to my husband and myself thank you.
My wife and I visited several care homes prior to visiting Bridge House Care Home. We were met by a member of staff who made us all so welcome. My mother-in-law has now been in the Bridge House Care Home since May and she loves it. Everything, so far, has been five-star plus. You must visit to get a great feel for the place and the staff.
Mum recently moved to Bridge House from another care home so we could be nearer to her. We were a little apprehensive as she was settled in her previous place. But a few weeks on, we are delighted with the move. When we visit Mum is up and dressed and she is sleeping so much better as she is more active throughout the day. It’s great to see her joining in the various activities. I actually didn’t recognise her in a recent photo as she looked so happy and was smiling and that is a testament to how well she is being looked after by the lovely, attentive staff. If you are considering care for your loved one then you really should consider Bridge House as it’s everything you could want for them.
Dad had to leave his previous care home due to a deterioration in his condition. It was recommended that he access EMI Nursing care due to his challenging behaviour. Unaware of the difference between EMI Residential and EMI Nursing care, I approached Bridge House Care Home. Dad was assessed within 24 hours and accepted. His care was phenomenal during his short stay. Despite the best efforts of the team, Dad deteriorated and passed away within 3 weeks. The end-of-life care that Bridge House provided (and the local palliative care team) was exceptional. His passing was without pain and dignified. I will be forever grateful to Bridge House.
We moved Mother here from another home as we moved house and wanted her to be near us. In the first week, she had some problems which were handled very sympathetically by staff. However, since then, we have been delighted by how she's settled, how well she is cared for and generally, she seems much happier. Is always dressed and occupied when we visit.

Mum now looks on the staff as her friends and enjoys taking part in all the activities that are on offer. She loves having her meals with other residents and is very happy at Bridge House.
Bridge House Care Home is, without doubt, one of the best care homes in West Yorkshire. My aunty is treated with dignity and nothing is too much trouble. Always a lovely atmosphere within the home. You are greeted by all management and staff. So pleased we chose Bridge House.
The home and staff have delivered wonderful care to my mother-in-law since she moved there ten weeks ago. All the staff have shown patience and professionalism and are happy to explain any queries which I have had. My mother-in-law is in a spacious, modern bedroom, she is kept pain-free and is happy with her care.
