View Full Details of Wykebeck Court Care HomeMum was in respite care for three weeks and she goes two or 3 times a year. This gives me a break and the peace of mind she is being very well looked after. All the staff are lovely, very kind and caring and Mum always gets a warm welcome. Wykebeck Court is a godsend for myself, Mum and family. Thank you.
My father passed away and mum needed additional support for her day to day to needs. At a very difficult time for Mum, and all of our family, every single member of staff at Wykebeck could not have done more to help Mum settle in on the residential floor, and to support us as a family. Every interaction has been met with kindness, consideration and understanding. Wykebeck Court is bright, clean and welcoming. The activities team are superb. From pamper sessions and exercise classes to visiting entertainers or simply watching a film with a glass of wine, there is always something to do. Or Mum could stay in her bright and airy room reading a book or watching TV if she doesn't want to join in (but she ALWAYS wants to join in!). The food is great and Mum thinks that she's putting on weight! There is lots of space around to sit and chat with a coffee when we visit and we are always welcomed. Mum is happy and as a family we can't thank the team enough for their care and kindness.
It was very hard to come to terms with the fact that our mum would need to move into care but we are confident that we have made the right choice with Wykebeck Court. Mum is very fond of her carers who treat her with respect and dignity. We are happy that she has settled well and we know that if we have any concerns there will always be someone to listen.
My mum is looked after on the nursing floor of the care home. She is treated with kindness, care and dignity. The staff are approachable and willing to listen and discuss any concerns I may have. Although Mum has Alzheimer's her face lights up when the carers come to her room and she always has a smile for everyone which shows she is happy.
My mum originally went in for 2 weeks of respite and never looked back. She has good days and bad days! She's missing my dad (who passed away last September) so much and asks for him daily which is heartbreaking for us all. All the staff who had dealt with Mum have been good, caring and helpful. I have got my back!
The staff are kind and looked after my mum, myself and family till the end. The room was clean and everyone was so nice.
My mum has been staying at Wykebeck Court for 2 months as she was very poorly on admission. With the excellent care and support my mum received at Wykebeck Court she is well enough to return home for the foreseeable future. I would like to thank the manager and all her team for providing so much genuine love and care.
Mum was admitted following a 6-week stay in the hospital for a fractured hip and wrist. Due to dementia, she was nursed in bed. Settled well and put weight on. Always treated with great dignity and care. The whole team at Wykebeck also supported Dad on his visits. I feel sure she had the best care in her final year. From the moment you enter the building, you feel the great pride that is taken to make a homely, warm, and welcoming environment.
Wykebeck Court was very caring and Mum was looked after extremely well, this was with her medical needs and her personal care. The facilities are also very well too. I visited twice weekly and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
Mum moved into the home in July 2023 for end-of-life care. She has been made so welcome by all the team and has settled really well. Mum has had the best care and the attention from all the staff has been fantastic. Mum hadn't eaten food due to her condition for months prior to moving in but with time and patience is now managing small personalised meals provided by the dedicated head chef. Mum is able to order food she fancies and the chef and her team go out of their way to provide her with her personalised meal choices. The activity team are brilliant, I visit about 4 times a week and always find the home busy with activities with lots of fun and laughter, I cannot thank the whole team enough for all the support they give to Mum and my whole family.
My mother stayed at Wykebeck Court Care Home for two weeks of respite. She really enjoyed her stay there. The whole team were very friendly and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Her room was very comfortable and tidy. The other residents were very happy and content. There were activities provided on most days. She finds the food to be home and tasty. We are delighted with the care she received at Wykebeck.
Very good staff who make you feel very welcome. Lovely place to stay.
The care given to my mother from all staff at the care home was of the highest quality from the office staff, nurses, carers through to the kitchen staff and cleaners.
Wykebeck Court is a wonderful home, all the staff are incredibly warm and caring and can't do enough for the residents. There are loads of activities for the residents to get involved in and families are welcome to join in the fun. All the care is exceptional and the home is beautifully clean and the food is amazing. I can't thank every one of the staff enough for the care they give my mum.
We have been calling weekly for over two years and we have found everything excellent. My mother-in-law will be 100 years old in October, you treat her like royalty, we are very pleased that nothing is too much trouble - fantastic!
Great place, all staff are friendly and helpful. The food menu is great and varied. Plenty of entertainment going on and well run by the two ladies, should you require anything you only have to ask. The rooms are kept clean and any laundry that needs doing is completed in a timely manner. Always staff about should you need them. Would highly recommend this care home.
My aunt has lived at Wykebeck Court for almost 2 years, on the residential floor. During this time she has come to know it as 'home' and made friends with other residents and 'professional friends' with the staff. As her care needs have increased, the staff have met those needs and ensured there is excellent communication with me. They work as a team, the team includes the visiting GP who manages their health needs and visits the home weekly. The staff offer a high standard of care that is consistent. My aunt has really enjoyed the activities and they really helped her settle into life within the home. The activity coordinator tries to ensure the residents engage with a huge variety of activities that vary weekly. The home is always well presented, the staff approachable and the meals appear appetising. Thank you.
I would like to thank all the staff a Wykebeck Court for their continuing caring support for my mum and other residents. Mum is 96 now and every time I visit which is quite often I am always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome at the home. I see the activity team engaging with residents every visit, they have an amazing amount of varied activities for the residents and all appear to be very happy. My mum has been living at the care home for three years now and as a family, we cannot thank all the staff enough for what they have done and what they are still doing to make mum's days as pleasant as possible. From the cleaners, carers, nurses, chefs, activity team and management just a huge thank you. Keep up the good work.
Outstanding, amazing and caring. This is how all care homes should be run. With care, dignity, understanding and professionalism. The staff and management are amazing and compassionate. My Husband had a very poor experience in another care home and we had to find a new placement. The management couldn't have been more helpful, and after the last experience, it was like being in 5* luxury. All care homes should follow this Bupa care home on how to care for vulnerable people in a respectful dignified way.
My dad was sent to this appalling nursing home from the hospital as his dementia was shocking. The staff were all fine to start with, the building was clean but after a bit of time of being there, there were certain nurses who would lose the caring part of the job. For him they'd go to because they had to, they were cold and at times, heartless. All they care about is money and profit for them. I have spoken to other people who had family there and they say the same about how the home is falling below par of what it should be. The management doesn't care, they stay in their offices and rarely come out to see visitors or residents. Don't send people here who have dementia! My dad died here and it hurts how when he died I told the staff I would be back in a few days. I went in 3 days later to find all his belongings in the corridor in black bags. Disgusting and the cleaner told me it was the home management's decision to do this. They are arrogant very ignorant and self-centred. Avoid at all costs.
