I have been delighted to see my friend looking so happy, clean and well-dressed whilst she has been on respite care in Birchmere Mews Care Home. She has been encouraged to be her "best-self". I stayed and had a meal with my friend which was of wonderful quality. It was well served and tasted delicious. Congratulations to the chef. Staff and management are kind, congenial and work well together as well as being exceptionally supportive and kind to the residents. Well done!

After many years of refusing any outside of family help my 99-year-old mother agreed to nine days respite in Birchmere Mews whilst I took a holiday. On telephoning her from Cornwall I was told 'I'm staying!'. Since then she has settled well, made friends and joined in most of the activities. As a family, we have been delighted and relieved by the whole process and particularly by the warmth and support shown to her and us by every member of staff. This has been particularly in evidence today - Mum has become unwell and the care shown to her plus the communication with me regarding her condition has been exemplary. She telephoned me to tell me how kind everyone has been to her and to reassure me she feels better. She, and I, could not ask for more.

I am absolutely delighted with my choice of Birchmere Mews Care Home for my mum. I had looked at four dementia care homes and Birchmere jumped out as an absolute star because the staff, particularly five members of staff, created such a great first impression. They are so warm and welcoming. There are great activities for the residents if they wish to participate, amazing choice of food, beautiful ensuite bedrooms and it just felt right for my mum. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and both senior care staff are meticulous in following up with the doctor, district nurses etc. It is such a hard decision to make, placing a loved one in the care of others, but the home has exceeded my expectations. Both my mum and I are treated with kindness, warmth, patience and compassion.

My aunt has been residing at Birchmere Mews since last November. From the moment I went to look at this care home, the staff have been helpful, attentive, courteous and so friendly. All the staff have made my aunt feel at home there, and nothing is too much trouble. She loves to go out on the regular trips around the area and there is always some sort of activity going on. It is very well-run and extremely clean, and all my aunt's needs are met with a smile and a cheery word. My aunt is often encouraged to have a coffee and a chat with the lovely staff. The team really try and make the residents stay there as happy as possible. I would have no hesitation in recommending Birchmere Mews - what a super care home. Well done to everyone who works there.

Mum was admitted only a short time ago but I have nothing but praise for all of the staff for their care, friendliness and enthusiasm. It's clear that standards are high in all aspects. It really is faultless.

Very caring staff. Mum loves her room, she is so much happier now she has someone around all day. The only area Mum talks about in a negative way is the food. She enjoys her breakfast and especially the soup but is less keen on the main meals.

My uncle was only at Birchmere Mews for 5 weeks before he passed but the care he received was 100% he settled in straight away and the careers were brilliant with him I have to say thank you to the home manager and customer service manager for the help they gave me in getting him into Birchmere and settled, Birchmere is a lovely home from home happy clean place to be thank you to all the staff for giving him the best five happy weeks.

I could not wish for a better place for my mother to be cared for. Such lovely, caring staff who think the world of her, and it shows. Attention to detail, lovely personal room, comfortable social areas, and beautiful dining room. Special thanks to the customer support manager who has gone the extra mile in providing support to me, my brother, and my sister in these most stressful times visiting my mum! Thanks to all your staff!

We are really pleased with how well and how quickly Mom has settled in at Birchmere - many thanks to all the staff who have helped with the transition. The facilities are excellent, everything is nice and clean, and it's good to know Mom is eating and drinking well - she has even put on a bit of weight which is great. The entertainment team are also fantastic and have got Mom involved in lots of different activities including dancing, painting, singing and a trip to the supermarket. Would highly recommend!

I would just like to write a review about Birchmere Mews Care Home to put on record for anyone who is needing a care home for anyone who is special to them. If you choose Birchmere all I can say is you will not be disappointed. My mother has been there eighteen months now and being as though I live 40 miles away, the peace of mind that she is being well looked after by the excellent staff there really helps me to stop worrying. I would highly recommend this home to anyone, the activities they do with the residents and trips out are brilliant and also the advent of social media, I like how on those platforms they keep it all up to date regularly so I can see what my mum's been up to, which is normally revolving eating, drinking and most definitely, dancing. I’d also like to commend all the staff who also have a smile and make you feel very welcome when you arrive, especially the receptionist who has to put up with me when I come in. Well done to everyone at Birchmere and thank you so much for looking after my dear mum.

My father has been a resident for just over a year now and the staff have worked hard to successfully settle him into his new life. He has had a couple of brief visits to hospital and on both occasions the staff were extremely caring and professional in arranging his return. I particularly appreciated the way in which I was kept informed at all times. It is always comforting to know how well he is being looked after.

My mum and dad have/are receiving excellent care from professional and truly caring carers. Neither of my parents has been easy residents to manage, but the patience and care shown by carers and support staff have been wonderful to see. This isn't an easy job and not well paid, so I have immense admiration for those who carry out the role with such heart and kindness. Support staff, are also a joy, including reception and laundry staff and others I have forgotten to mention. We have, however, had a glitch around payments, where we have been charged for a further month's stay, even though our dad had passed away. We appreciate automation is probably at the heart of this, but it has taken nearly a month and several interventions to try to get this put right and we're not quite there yet. This isn't a great situation to be in at an already emotive time. In all honesty, I'd put 4.5 stars where I've marked up 4, so please take this into account if you can. A massive thank you.

Birchmere Mews is a fantastic facility, beautifully decorated with activities every single day. The trips out are amazing, to local libraries, coffee shops and nature spots. The quality of food is excellent and all of the staff are very welcoming, helpful and function as a team. The most important of all is my mum is safe and well cared for.

My mum has been a resident at Birchmere Mews for almost 2 years and our experience of the care and support given to her in that time has been exemplary. It continues to be so in 2024. After a care plan review, Mum has moved into a new room. The home manager sorted this out swiftly with a selection of rooms for Mum to choose from and on the day of the move, staff were on hand to help us with the process. All staff were aware of Mum’s move and are continuing to ensure that she is happy in her new surroundings. We are always greeted with a smile when we visit Mum.

I had to make a big decision by putting both my parents into a care home recently, which was a bit distressing. However, with the help of the carers and the admin staff, this was made very easy. Their knowledge and understanding made everything run smoothly. They have taken a few weeks to get used to their new environment, but the carers have been very kind and nothing has been any trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending Birchmere to anyone else considering a move for one of their relatives or loved ones.

My father has lived at Birchmere Mews for almost a year now and I have nothing but praise for this lovely care home. The staff are fabulous, professional, caring individuals who are dedicated to making the residents happy. We, as visitors, are always made very welcome and feel part of the big family. There is some form of entertainment every day from impromptu garden parties in the summer to visits from professional singers and movement to music sessions. My father is happy and very well cared for. Thank you.

The care home staff are fantastic. Hardworking and caring. They are aware of my mother’s needs and work specifically towards them. Cleaning and laundry standards are very high. The manager listens to ideas and requests and acts on them. Since December I have been able to book meals or use of a quiet room with Mum. This has made a difference to her experience as she is not mobile enough to take out. The well-being team gave out on some really good experiences for staff. Reception staff are polite friendly and efficient. The meals given consistently been of a high standard. The chef does an amazing job. Things are very well maintained by the site crew.

We are really pleased that our mother is happy at Birchmere and are most impressed with the very welcoming and caring staff. All staff listen to concerns and act on them straight away. The variety of activities is amazing - there is always something going on at Birchmere. The home is always warm and very clean and smell-free.
