View Full Details of Brockington HouseThis is a modern purpose built care home. It is extremely well run with caring staff who all come across as individuals who really care, are always ready to help and appear happy and fulfilled in their work. A wide range of activities are available seven days a week. My mother was isolated and lonely as well as prone to worry before moving here. Since then she has turned a corner and is perfectly content.
My mum has settled in well due to the staff, pleasant, kind and respectful manner at all times. The whole building is spotless. The rooms are welcoming and home from home. Lots of things to do on a day-to-day basis which is good for the mental state of my mum. Any questions are always answered at any time. Very much like a calm space and very sociable people who seem to enjoy each other's company.
We could not be happier with Brockington House. Just knowing my mother is receiving the best and kindest care we could hope for gives us peace of mind. She is comfortable and content. The manager and staff are warm and attentive to her and communicative and understanding with us. None of this comes cheaply, of course, but we are prepared to pay the high fees to ensure her utmost well-being.
Mum has been here for over four years now and it's a lovely place for its residents. I've recently visited a number of homes in the area and Brockington House is, most definitely, one of the best and vastly better than most. The building is a safe, clean and good-looking place but of course. it's the staff that make the difference. Cleaners, maintenance, admin, activities, physio, hairdresser, management, nurses and carers - they're absolutely marvellous. Caring, knowledgeable: keeping residents safe and happy.
My mother has been a resident at Brockington House for over three years. After a couple of months, she was moved to the dementia unit where she settled very quickly. The care she receives is excellent, she is treated with kindness and dignity at all times and I am always kept informed of anything that relates to her. The manager has always been extremely professional and helpful with anything that I have requested, as has every single member of staff who will do everything they can to ensure the residents are well cared for, happy and safe.
Mum and Dad moved into Brockington House September 2020 during lockdown. Their need for care was urgent and we feel fortunate that a room was available at very short notice. Dad, sadly, died four months later. Mum stayed on and is now 100 years old. Over the last four years, all the staff have been wonderful. She is very well cared for in this beautiful home and when we visit, our family are made to feel welcome as part of the Brockington community! A lovely party was arranged for her big birthday and Mum was thoroughly spoilt. We highly recommend Brockington House and their kind, dedicated, caring staff. Thank you.
My mother came to Brockington House in October and the home and staff have been absolutely fantastic with care for my mother. The home has a wonderful atmosphere and is created by the wonderful staff and the facilities provided by the home. Many thanks to all.
As soon as we entered Brockington House, we knew that it was the right place for my mother... It's like walking into a five-star hotel! My mother has now been in here for twelve months and during that time, she has been looked after so well - nothing is too much for all the carers. There are so many comfortable sitting areas for all the residents if they need some peace and quiet and so many wonderful organised games that they can join in if desired. All in all, a wonderful retirement home/hotel.
My father is very well looked after and finds the staff are lovely people and the care he receives is excellent. As a family, we really enjoy visiting him and the staff and now feel we have an extended loving family through the care he receives and the lovely staff. We thoroughly recommend Brockington House.
My dad has been a resident at Brockington since April 2024. I cannot fault the care of the staff, who feel like an extension of our family already. They are always looking for ways to make residents feel special, whether that is with birthday celebrations - the cakes are delicious, or with their ´resident of the day'. Dad thinks the carers, housekeepers, nurses, activities organisers and receptionists are all brilliant; they make any visitors feel welcome, they all know dad well and show affection for him. There is always someone available to call on, speak to and ask questions of. Dad has been made very welcome since he moved in and although the transition from living at home to moving into a care home has been challenging, the staff at Brockington could not have done any more to help dad settle. Thank you.
Today I received a telephone call from a senior member of staff regarding my aunties care. Firstly, I wish to comment on how friendly and professional the staff member was on the call. She explained that my auntie was resident of the week and what this would entail and did I have any concerns. Well my auntie has been a resident at the home coming up 5 years and what can I say? On behalf of my auntie and family, she is more than happy there. Each member of staff from carers, housekeeping, entertainment, reception, kitchen staff are very caring and nothing is to much trouble. It truly is a beautiful home with lovely gardens. Thank you once again to you all, oh and don't forget her glass of wine!!
My father was at Brockington for 17 months. The care home looks like a hotel. He was in the dementia wing. There were some exceptionally good carers but some struggled understanding dementia. The management was poor and after only two weeks I was called to a meeting. I was told my father needed to leave. After asking various questions about an incident that had occurred, it was evident that a full investigation hadn't been made. I was told he could stop short term but needed one-to-one care which would be charged. The following week I had a call from the Manager to say that the 'incident' wasn't my father's fault, it was another lady's, and she had subsequently left, as she was a "troublemaker" (No, she had dementia). Lovely premises, and some good staff but a poor Manager. After 17 months they said they couldn't meet his needs and he needed to leave.
My mum received a high level of care from the staff team at Brockington House Care Home over a period of a year within excellent facilities. The staff team supported her through a very difficult time and gave her the opportunity to progress with her life, beyond her stay at Brockington House. She was treated with patience, kindness and warmth and she was able to make a recovery at her own pace. We're very grateful that she had the opportunity to receive support from the team and make friends with other residents, which gave her purpose and direction.
Came for lunch with my grandmother who recently moved in. The facilities, staff and food are fantastic. The interior design is stunning. Overall it is a fantastic place. Care really is a priority here.
I was greeted on arrival by happy and welcoming staff, who gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. My room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view of the garden - bees, lawns, flowers, pigeons and a squirrel to watch. All the staff were extremely tired and caring as well as very patient. I had a chest infection while staying there but it soon cleared with antibiotics and then I was able to join in with the many activities. I give them all top marks! Well done!
The atmosphere in Brockington is warm, caring, calm, and thoughtful. The staff are unfailingly friendly and smiling. It makes me very happy knowing that my father is being looked after so well in such a great place by such a wonderful team.
Excellent care and support from the staff, very good facilities and a wide range of activities. A very happy and caring feeling towards the residents and a warm reception from the staff every time I visit.
My mother has been living at Brockington Care community for over 3 years. During this time, she has been well looked after and cared for by the staff. All staff are friendly and supportive. My mother lives with memory problems and the staff are extremely kind and do their best to encourage her to participate in the many activities on offer such as music, scrabble, keeping fit and outings.
I always find my sister well cared for. Her room is tidy and my wife always remarks on the cleanliness and crispness of the bed linen. Taking a peek at the menu, there is a good choice and on the occasions we have arrived at lunchtime it smells appetising.
During January I attended a birthday lunch at Brockington House for my friend who lives there. The private room set aside for these functions was beautifully presented. The food and table service were as of the quality in a first-class hotel. The care is faultless and more than meets the changing needs of my friend.
