View Full Details of Oakdale Care HomeBeautiful home. Staff very accomodating + friendly. Friend very well cared for.
Oakdale is a caring community that really goes above and beyond. They have taken the time to get to know my father and all his little quirks and treat him with great care and attention. The Care Home is frequently thematically decorated. Yesterday, everywhere was filled with red for Valentine's Day. It looked lovely. There is a warm welcome every time I visit, and there's always time for a chat or any questions. Activities, food, housekeeping and admin all add to the excellent care that my father is receiving from the nursing staff and carers. Well done, everyone!
So loved seeing mini Shetland pony dressed up. All entertainments. Carers are especially kind hearted and jolly. Great surroundings.
Really lovely atmosphere in run up to and over the Christmas period. Lots of activities for everyone to join in with and everyone encouraged to do so. The home was really well decorated to add to the festive feeling. Loved all the little extras and effort put into making it feel special for everyone and so lovely on Christmas day for families to be able to join the residents in celebrating the day with a fabulous lunch. Big thanks to all the staff it's very much appreciated.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Mum really enjoys the entertainment and activities.
Set up run very well. We enjoyed a meal with the resident. Always good to visit.
Very impressed with all the events that are scheduled. My mother-in-law loves all the entertainment and animals. The carers are very friendly and go out of their way to help. We enjoy the hot drinks machine when we visit.
Mum has been in care since July 2024. There have been some problems with laundry going missing and some instances where the food could be better. However, the care Mum has received has been amazing. Her health and mobility has improved and she enjoys the company of others and the staff. All the staff are so welcoming to relatives and Mum always comments on how friendly and helpful they are. Mum is very happy.
Staff excellent and home very friendly and welcoming. Excellent event for Remembrance Day.
Just had a fantastic afternoon celebrating Armistice Day. Excellent presentation, staff were amazing, the buffet was brilliant.
The staff and home are really caring and attentive.
All the staff put on an excellent Remembrance service for both residents and visitors.
Such a lovely experience every time we visit our friend. We enjoy it as much as our friend. The staff and facilities are absolutely superb!
I like the place. Very nice atmosphere.
Ten out of ten on every count. This is a wonderful rest home, very friendly staff, very clean and fresh. My friend is staying here, we often join in the activities and have enjoyed lunch with her. Her health has got so much better and her walking has greatly improved.
Was excellent. We loved the singer and the dancing. A particular member of staff and all the staff did an amazing job, My friend loved it. Thank you.
Attended a very enjoyable summer fete. The staff must have worked very hard to make the afternoon fun for the residents and guests. The garden in which it was held was very well kept and with luck, the sun was shining.
My husband and I recently visited Oakdale for the first time to see a cousin who had recently been transferred from hospital. Although ill, he was able to convey how happy he was with the care being provided and felt very fortunate to be ending his days in such beautiful surroundings. We were so impressed with the quality of environment, inside and out. Staff were very welcoming, personable and caring.
I do not know how this establishment is allowed to care for people with dementia. My experience shows they haven't got a clue as many of the staff are not trained to care for people with dementia. They have a fun day to raise funds but in any care home where the management has any sense, it would not be appropriate as residents with dementia would become distressed with the proceedings. Avoid at all costs.
The Oakdale Care Home took in my mother-in-law at short notice due to a traumatic experience in another home. The staff were extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make this respite experience a great one. The luxury accommodation and gardens are superb. The permanent residents seem at home and enjoy the activities, food and care. It is a difficult time for vulnerable adults to be in a different environment to their one home with strangers but Oakdale has really tried to make this transition work. The nurse is also available 24 hours which is added reassurance as my mother-in-law was recovering from an acute illness and needed reablement to be independent again at home.
