View Full Details of Ruddington Manor Care CentreWalking into Ruddington Manor and not really knowing anything about home care. My mum was welcomed so lovely, and it's been the same every day the staff are not just caring to my mum but also caring to me & my family and knowing my mum is being cared for and safe is our main concern. The staff have really wanted to get my mum's needs so they can help her join in with all the activities and seeing by the photos that are sen,t she has a smile on her face.
Good care ,food, entertainment, management, nurses, cleanliness, facilities etc, staff are kind and caring , in spite of poor pay, I do think all carers should be paid more, as it is difficult for all care homes to recruit staff.
My husband has now been at Ruddington Manor Care Centre for 8 months and I am so pleased that we found this wonderful nursing home. For me the criteria of a home is that it should be staffed always by kind people and I feel this happens here. This includes not just the manager and carers but all the staff be it hospitality, catering, admin, cleaning, maintenance and laundry. I feel sure that it is a happy and safe place to be. Thank you all.
My Dad has only been at the Ruddington Manor for a few weeks but has already settled in very well. All the staff are very helpful and friendly making him feel at home from day one, the food and daily activities are excellent. There is always a nice atmosphere whenever I visit which makes it feel like a big family rather than a care home.
My Mum moved here after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Sadly she only lived for 10 more days but the manager and staff gave her wonderful care. It was lovely to know she was in good hands for her last days. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff greeted you when you were walking around. The room was very comfortable and clean.
Mum arrived at Ruddington Manor on 12th April 2024, from that day she has been cared for by both Management and staff with dignity, compassion and respect. Housekeeping and meals are of a high standard too! Most of all everyone is very friendly and helpful when you visit which makes a great atmosphere for both residents and family. Most importantly Mum is really happy too!
My mum was transferred to the care home at the beginning of January 2024 on end-of-life care. Mum's health improved after a few weeks, and she was able to visit the lounge and eat her meals in the dining room. The staff were all very kind and caring and respected Mum's wishes. Unfortunately, Mum's health deteriorated, and she passed away at the end of March. The staff were all very attentive to Mum in her final days and to myself as I was there at the end. The home is modern, clean and comfortable. If I had to go into a care home, if I had a choice, I would pick Ruddington Manor.
I visited a few homes in the area, however, we decided this was the place as it felt like a real home very warm and welcoming. My nan stayed here during her end of life which sadly was just over 3 months and during that time she was shown compassion, respect and love by all who work here. Due to her illness and previous care history, she was a very scared and vulnerable woman and was made to feel safe instantly by those who cared for her here. The home is truly a home, not just a place where our elder relatives go to stay. It is welcoming, clean, and enjoyable for both residents and visiting family members, the staff are not just staff but an extension of the family. From the staff working here to the residents sitting in the reception enjoying a cuppa, cake and chat it’s a wonderful place for your loved ones. My nan recently passed away and her time here was a real blessing. Thank you to all, you all deserve your wings. I will truly miss and treasure the time my Nan spent here with you all.
My wife is being very looked after here.
Both of my grandparents are currently staying in Ruddington Manor Care Centre and have been for some time. During this time, they have been well cared for, fed well, socialised well and their basic needs have been met well. Their medical needs have been met well and whenever myself or my sister have approached staff, we have always been heard and helped. I have felt at ease knowing that my grandparents are in this facility due to the level of care that they have been given. Overall, it has been a positive and supportive experience.
My mother has been here for about eight weeks. We, as a family, have been happy with Mum's care. You have made Mum's stay a happy experience; she feels you have looked after her well. The staff are really good. Nothing is too much. Thank you to all at Ruddington Manor.
My mum appears to be looked after very well. The carers are kind and respectful. There is a focus on rehab/improvement, which is good. The head nurse is very approachable and always has time to talk and listen to any concerns.
Just a thought on food - consider most/all residents have dentures - skin on fruit and any hard food is a problem.
I am unable to review this place without breaking the policy content standards. It was a joke from start to finish. I would feel better if he was on the asylum seekers' barge. I hope others are not fooled by the place.
Clean, wide corridors. If that is all you want from a care home, then this may be the place for you. However, I do not recommend this place if you want even basic, person-centred care that can be relied on. Staff focus on tasks, rather than care. I have never seen a member of staff just spending time with a resident or having a chat, yet I have seen them sat in the lounge doing nothing. There is no "team" approach. Staff work on the basis of "that's not my job" instead of, "it's everybody's job". Communication is poor and cannot be relied on. I have the same conversations over and over again. The care plans I saw were poorly written and there was little evidence that staff read them and certainly did not act on them consistently. If I asked for even basic care tasks to happen e.g. personal hygiene, I was made to feel like a nuisance. The culture which comes from senior managers is one of "accept poor standards or leave!"
I am happy with the care my mum receives. Staff are very caring and supportive.
My friend was a resident at Ruddington Manor for almost five years. Her move to be in full-time care was a big decision, as she was always an independent lady. What a very good decision that turned out to be. She settled well and really became part of the family, Ruddington Manor was her home. All staff have been extremely caring. At the end of her long life, they showed huge kindness and there was a genuine fondness, it was mutual. Thank you.
Since my mum became a resident of Ruddington Manor Care Centre last July, her health and wellbeing have improved significantly. Overall, we are very happy with the care and service she has received.
My mother was in this care home for ten days. Safeguarding concerns. The name on her door wasn't changed. I was told inappropriate information in reception about my mum. The ambulance crew also made a complaint. I complained to the home and the care commission. I am relieved to see the latest inspection is required improvement. The home admitted my mother. Couldn't get a drink because she couldn't walk to where they had left the water! Terrible, terrible place.
Thank you to the carers, nurses, OT, Physio, Housekeepers and Reception staff at Ruddington Manor Care Home. The care received on the pathway 3 floor was second to none. My mother was well cared for and the staff were professional, kind and caring to an Alzheimer's resident with challenging behaviour. Thank you for all your support.
