View Full Details of Worthington Lake Care HomeVery nice location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Every where is clean, food is excellent.
Very happy with everything here for Mum and Dad.
Exceptional care and support, not just for my mum, but that consideration extending to her family too. Always keeping us informed. Thank you.
Our friend, a window and an only child with no children or siblings, sadly developed Alzheimer's disease. She asked me to be her support and power of attorney along with her cousin and her son who live in Durham. She was asked but didn't wish to move to Durham. I was asked to choose a home in Wigan. Worthington Lake was my choice and the family agreed. She had lived there nearly four years. The management were amazing and she had the best life possible with her new 'family'. A beautiful and amazing home.
We feel that our relative is safe and secure in the friendly, reassuring atmosphere created within the setting. Although our relative can sometimes be challenging, she is treated with the utmost respect. Staff are excellent, friendly and sympathetic to house guest's individual needs, to which they cater for in a caring and loving way.
Mum's been in the home for now 6 months and has settled in amazingly well. All the staff are wonderful and welcoming. Communication is good if there are any issues. We are extremely happy that Mum is both safe and happy in her new home.
I regularly visit a resident here, and each time I have been I have found Worthington Lake care home to feel warm and welcoming. It doesn't have the feel of a typical care home it feels more like a home away from home or a 5* hotel. The meals are homemade each day and include lots of variety. The staff are friendly and warm and are happy and smiling which is really nice to see. Residents are smartly dressed and the home itself is very clean. I was impressed by the activity schedule and the number of trips out for residents in their own minibus. I would highly recommend this care home.
Outstanding care home with lovely staff. Very caring of mum and attentive to her needs. Excellent personal care - thoroughly recommend.
I am so glad we chose Worthington Lake for Mum's twilight years. Due to her dementia, she may not always want to be there but it is comforting to know she is safe and looked after so well. Mum loves all the staff who treat her as their family. The staff are all super friendly and approachable. With beautifully decorated rooms, you can make you own and in a beautiful setting around the lake, where they walk round often. I would not hesitate to recommend Worthington Lake. Thank you.
The care given to my uncle during his stay has been wonderful. The care home is so welcoming and staff are friendly to all visitors. My uncle is settled at Worthington Lake Care Home and we never thought that would be possible. I love seeing all the events and photos on social media too. Thank you.
Beautiful home, staff very friendly and helpful. My brother-in-law is well cared for. Staff very supportive to both service users and family. When you arrive in the home it is like a five star hotel.
Very good understanding of the needs of the residents as well as of the visitors.
Mum is very well looked after in nice surroundings. Always something going on and happening activities-wise. Food and drink is very very good with an ever-changing menu. Staff and management in Worthington Lake are very professional and caring with all residents. In conclusion, I would recommend Worthington Lake as an ideal care home.
My father has been a resident at Worthington Lake for almost a year now and I have nothing but praise for the home and staff. They are always so very kind, caring, attentive and cheerful and treat my father with dignity and respect. In addition, the facilities are exceptional, and the home is modern, spotlessly clean and above all homely. My father has a spacious ensuite bedroom which is always clean and tidy when I visit. The food is home-cooked and very appetising and my father especially likes the mid-morning and afternoon sweet and savoury treats. He also enjoys participating in activities such as trips out for lunch or listening to musical performances on the piano. I feel my father is being very well cared for at Worthington Lake and would have no hesitation recommending the home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment. All in all an exceptionally well-run home.
Family and friends are always welcomed by the staff and management when visiting. Any questions answered and concerns about health within a professional manner. The staff deal with residents with kindness, care and dignity. Meals and other daily treats are presented well and look very tempting. Activities are well arranged including outings at different times and places. Quiet piano performances produce relaxation or alternatively a good sing-along.
The quality of care provided at Worthington Lake is outstanding. The staff know the residents extremely well and there is a desire to ensure they feel at home, are well cared for and enjoy life. Residents are encouraged to take part in activities inside and outside the home, such as swimming, ice skating, and music groups. The home has excellent facilities and is set in beautiful surroundings, while my dad's room is very clean, spacious and homely. The food is excellent quality with a roast and buffet on Sunday dishes included on the menu for certain residents and a special cake made by one of the residents. We have noticed a considerable improvement in my dad's mental and physical health since he moved in, which is entirely down to the care and commitment of the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to ensure his needs are met. Heartfelt thanks to everyone for improving my dad's quality of life; although it was a difficult decision to move him out of his own home, it's the best one we could have made.
An excellent home from home for our mum. The quality of care for each individual is amazing; staff know the residents well and go above and beyond to meet individual needs. The home is spotless, the food is good quality and varied and day to day activities reflect life as it could/would have been at home. There are regular trips out, e.g. Sea Life Centre, walks around the lake, lunch in a local pub, visit to Haigh Hall, shopping trips, Valentine's dance in the church hall as well as something happening every day in the home. We love the relationships with a local nursery, music group, etc. Residents spend lots of time outdoors: Mum loved the gardening! There’s always something to look forward to, always a celebration. We can’t thank the staff enough for their individual and personal care and commitment and would recommend Worthington Lake Care Home to everyone. Thank you for everything that you do. You are an amazing group of people who make a real difference!
My mum has been in Worthington Lake Care Home for about eighteen months now but every time I visit I am still reminded of just what an excellent choice we made for her. Apart from being a beautiful care home in a beautiful location the main thing really is the excellent level of care provided to my mum by the most dedicated, professional and caring people I could ever have hoped for. Thank you all so much.
Mum moved into Worthington Lake Care Home in October 2021 along with my Dad, they were not coping at home with Mum's dementia and Dad's deteriorating health - sadly Mum is now there on her own, but the care she received through the difficult time of losing Dad and ongoing care she receives is amazing. Worthington Lakes is a beautiful care home, well designed with a modern, clean and spacious layout, the rooms are large and provide everything Mum needs. The staff are so helpful, knowledgeable and caring, it is very reassuring knowing that Mum is so well looked after. Mum has not looked so well for years, she loves the position of her room as she can see everyone coming and going, and most importantly feels safe and secure - thank you everyone at Worthington Lake Care Home.
My mum recently went into Worthington Lake Care Home unwell with dementia and not eating and drinking as she should. Staff at Worthington have now got her eating and drinking and with all the activities they are making/bringing out in her the best she can be. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and quality of life they have given to her.
