View Full Details of Mountbatten GrangeMountbatten Grange is a wonderful place ! My mum has been a resident here for a couple of months now and I have nothing but praise for all aspects of her stay from the surroundings, cleanliness, food and care . Everyone is so lovely it really makes it feel like home from home
My sister became a cherished resident in Mountbatten Grange in October 2024. We, (her family) were uncertain how she would settle in her new home, having had one to one care in her own home for several years. But, from day one her arrival was a great success, both for her and her anxious family. She was charmed by the activities and stimulation. Her medical needs were monitored weekly (and more frequently when needed.) Her usual routine of little treats was maintained and her hair and nails, always so important to the glamorous lady that she was, were also monitored meticulously. Because of her progressing dementia, she could not handle incoming calls from members of family and so we had to rely on the staff in Mountbatten to keep us fully informed. No matter how often we phoned, regardless of timing, queries were always addressed with friendliness, good humour and caring comments. This was a great comfort to us as a family.
We needed a care home quite quickly in Windsor for about 3 months. Mountbatten Grange isn't cheap by any means however it's a few notches up in terms of surroundings, decor and furnishings. It's a posh care home without a doubt! All of this is of course a consideration but not anywhere as important as the personal interaction that my mum would be receiving from the staff. The question is do the carers and staff really care? Well, when my mum finally left Mountbatten Grange there were tears not just from my mum but the staff as well and that tells you all you need to know. The staff are brilliant and they and the home come with a 5-star recommendation from me, no question!
We moved mum into Mountbatten Grange several weeks ago. It got to a point where she needed 24-hour care. From my first phone call, the whole team have been so supportive. It's a huge decision but the team have always been there to support the family not just Mum. It's a home from home and we know mum is being well cared for. The residents have so much to keep them occupied and engaged. For any family, it's a huge move but We can honestly say the Mountbatten Grange family are amazing supportive and understanding of individuals' needs.
The full range of emotions are at play in taking, justifying and then living with the decision to move a loved one into a Care Home. Whilst it's a difficult one, knowing that it will never quite be a "Home-from-Home", Mountbatten Grange comes as close as it could possibly get. It is not just the consistent level of professionalism demonstrated by all members of staff from receptionist, entertainer, nurse, chef to manager; it is the collective generosity of spirit, kindness and empathy of an entire team that sets it apart. It feels that you are not just engaging a care home, you are entrusting an extended family. It is this that makes the decision the right one for me, my family and my parent.
There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the home, with attentive and caring staff. Lovely cafe area for residents and visiting family and friends to use. Overall we are very satisfied with the care our mum is getting.
There are care homes - and then there is Mountbatten Grange. Care homes vary considerably in their facilities, location, activities provided and price but the most important thing that they can offer is care in the best sense of the word. Good care is priceless and this is where Mountbatten Grange scores so highly. The care staff are superb, patient, kind and engage empathically with both residents and their visitors. This extends from the management to all the staff who make everyone so welcome. Hurrah also to the chefs for the mouthwatering cakes and savouries they produce for their cafe every day. Choosing a care home is a very emotional and difficult choice to make but there is a warmth and sense of camaraderie there that makes you realise that you have made the best choice.
Mum came to Mountbatten Grange for 2 weeks respite care while we were away on holiday. Mum had concerns re the bathroom, mainly the shower but she said it was the best, better than her shower at home. The staff are incredible really good with the residents and their visitors. The home is really nicely decorated. The staff made sure she was included in all the activities on offer. She especially enjoyed the physio sessions and has carried them on now back at home. Also the card games. When it was time for her to leave all the staff available came to say goodbye to her and gave her a lovely send off back home. Will certainly use this care home again and would recommend to others.
Excellent care was given to my 99-year-old father who went in very poorly for two weeks of respite care. He was so well cared for by the manager's team, he was up on his feet and able to walk out to the car. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this outstanding care home.
My husband was in Mountbatten Grange for three years. He was very well looked after by all the wonderful staff. He passed away at the end of March. I was told it was not good for me to cut off just like that. I come in twice a week and see all the staff who always make me very welcome and I visit people that I know.
Such a lovely, friendly place. I am so grateful for how looked after my nan in her final days. She was always comfortable and loved the surroundings and the farewell she received will always live with me. Thank you so much.
My dad became a resident at Mountbatten Grange in April and has settled really well. His health has improved, he has gained weight and his anxiety levels have visibly decreased. He has spoken very positively about his care, including the activities laid on and the food. All of the staff have been friendly and welcoming and are always willing to give us feedback.
A few years ago I spent countless hours looking for the right care home. I visited about 20. Mountbatten Grange was head and shoulders above anywhere I visited. My mother has been there for a few years and they have always gone above and beyond. She is treated well and the entire staff genuinely care about her wellbeing.
My now 94-year-old mother has spent the past 21 months at Mountbatten Grange, she became a resident after a number of dislocations to her hip and the onset of vascular dementia. She arrived in a leg splint however after 6 months of dedicated care by the fantastic staff and one-on-one attention by the attending physiotherapist her splint was finally removed and her capability to walk with her walker unaided was achieved and maintained. My mother is adored by the staff, her character enjoyed and encouraged, more so now that the dementia is progressively having its impact. It is without doubt the best facility any son could wish for his mother approaching her final years. It is unquestionably 5-star in every single aspect of its being.
My mother has been at Mountbatten Grange for about a year and her health and general well-being have really improved more than I could ever have hoped. I am amazed at the care and concern the staff have all shown and how warm the atmosphere is - there always seems to be something happening in the way of an activity, a group event or a hair appointment, so that life is made as pleasant as possible and her immobility is offset as well as it possibly could be. There are regular physio sessions and a sense of medical attention given unobtrusively. Her mental state is so much better I think than it was before she moved here, as she has lots of interaction with people and carers are always popping in for a quick chat. It has been quite an eye-opener for me as I had assumed a care home would not be quite like this, but the staff are really bringing off a small miracle in what they provide here. The food is also excellent!
My father became a resident in Mountbatten Grange in late January 2024. Immediately my sister and I were pleased with the care and attention given by all members of staff. My father has remarked on numerous occasions how wonderful the staff are. He has become involved in twice-weekly exercise activities which have helped his mobility. Having lived on his own for a great number of years when he could go days without speaking to anyone other than on the phone, he has now has daily contact with staff and fellow residents and this can only be good for his mental welfare. When my wife and I visit him we are always made welcome, invited to have a coffee and some pastries. We also get an honest feedback on how my father is doing. Overall we are very pleased with treatment and friendship and care.
Consistent, caring staff looking after father. All staff have a “very can-do attitude” in their approach to their jobs. From the manager downward, the resident is always at the forefront of their minds when making decisions regarding their welfare and safety. Well done, all.
My mother was at Mountbatten Grange for end-of-life care, and I cannot praise the staff enough. Although this nursing home is an amazing facility, it is the generous, kind nature of the staff that makes it superb. Not only do they care for the residents, they care for the family and friends of the residents compassionately - this is what sets them apart. From the initial contact with two wonderful ladies to the receptionists, catering, cleaning and nursing staff, this is a working family who work seamlessly day and night, and nothing is too much bother. Small touches made a difference - a radio and a fluffy duvet. I cannot express my thanks enough to all the staff for making my mother's last couple of weeks so peaceful and caring. Thank you from my heart.
The very first time I visited Mountbatten Grange Care Home I knew that my mum would feel comfortable living here. The ambience, decor and facilities make you feel like you’re in a beautiful hotel and the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The manager is so accommodating and helpful to ensure Mum has her every need taken care of. One member of staff, in particular, also has been really helpful at all times with the administration and other questions I have as well. The activities are so varied and in the space of just over a month, Mum has joined in so many things she would never have experienced at home, like painting, making things, zumba, puzzles, singing, jigsaws and pumpkins for Halloween. The activities staff and the other caters all help to make this time fun with her. The team on floor 3 are all so friendly and caring too. Best decision I had to make for my mum's care.
After having visited and researched many local homes we moved my wife (who suffers from Lewy Body Dementia) into Mountbatten Grange in October last year. This is always a very difficult decision but, from the start, the staff made every effort to get to know her and to welcome and settle her in. A few months in, she is indeed settled and content. These things take time - and the team working with my wife and our family knew that and have been patient, friendly and attentive throughout. We are very grateful to the staff and to other residents and their families for their care and attention. Mountbatten Grange now feel like family.
