View Full Details of Barchester Queens Manor Care HomeThe Queens Manor showed an exceptional level of empathy and dedication during my aunts stay. Everyone was kind, responsive and gentle. My aunts dignity was at the forefront. I wholeheartedly recommend this care home and would not have wanted to be anywhere else at this difficult time. Thank you for everything!
Our family are delighted with all of the help that Barchester Queens Manor Care Home has given our mum. She has thrived dramatically since arriving in June. This has been due to the personal care and attention given to her by all of the staff. We are so pleased that she has got her sparkle back. The admin assistant, in particular, was a breath of fresh air when we needed help most and she has continued to be a positive influence for Mum and all of her visitors.
My mum is a resident of Barchester Queens Manor in Edinburgh. She tried respite at other care homes and really, really didn't like them. Queens Manor is a qualitative step up from those other homes. The home is not too big, and there doesn't appear to be a high turnover of staff, so residents have the time to form meaningful relationships with individual members of staff. Time and care are given to residents' individual needs and wants. My mum has been encouraged to bring things from her family home to make her new room her own. When my mum had a tumble, appropriate care and due thought were given before contacting emergency services. Despite the mess she left behind, her room was spotless when she got back there the next day. Mum's been there for almost 6 months, and there's been no real issues at all during that time.
My gran has been living at Barchester Queens Manor Care Home for two years now and it is nothing short of excellent. The attention to detail, commitment of staff and care given is second to none. We attended their event on Saturday and it was amazing. The event brought great memories back for my gran and allowed us time to spend at an event as a family. Who knows if this would have ever happened without Queens Manor. Thank you.
I attended the Queens Manor Fringe festival with my family, what a great day for everyone! My gran loved everything that was going on from the street act, canapes, cocktail bar and Jazz band. It was all lovely and well organised. Staff always go above and beyond at Queens Manor and they are all amazing. If anyone is looking for a fun, caring and beautiful place to live, look no further than Queens Manor.
My mum enjoyed the recent Fringe event where a wonderful jazz singer performed songs from the past. The host was witty and welcoming and the singer was accompanied by 2 excellent musicians. The home had gone out of its way to organise an entertaining afternoon with drinks and homemade snacks. My mum is a fairly recent resident and, as a dementia patient, lives on the first floor. Initially, she took part in some activities and was included in 2 outings which she enjoyed very much. Unfortunately, she doesn't always realise what is on offer and relies on family or members of staff to encourage her to participate. Otherwise, we have been very happy with the care my mum is receiving and appreciate the hard-working staff and the care they give to the residents.
I visited with my Grandmother on their open day in May. Staff were very welcoming and friendly along with great management. The home offers plenty of opportunities for the residents. The building was lovely and clean. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Care home is a new build, well-designed, clean and tidy. More importantly, all the staff are friendly, polite and very caring. How they do the job I don't know!
I had my lunch with Mum today. Excellent food and service served in a small private lounge with a lovely view of the garden adjoining the home and its car park. Highly recommend dining in to avoid the chilly weather outside. Lunch by the way was mushroom soup and chicken supreme.
What an incredible home! The manager and her team run a fantastic home. It’s warm, welcoming and very luxurious. The staff were professional and curious. I would highly recommend Barchester Queens Manor Care Home to anyone looking for a care setting.
Mum came into Barchester Queens Manor Care Home for four weeks respite and was so happy she stayed! The staff were very welcoming and the surroundings are very attractive, immaculately clean and comfortable. Mum settled immediately and enjoyed all the activities. The staff are extremely caring and friendly and welcome family and friends. A big thank you to them all for a job well done.
My great-aunt has stayed in Queens Manor Care Home from June 2022 and loves it. She wasn't getting enough social interaction at home and Queens Manor is a hive of activity with something always going on. Their recent Fringe Event was great and offered something for everyone. The food has good variety and the care and compassion shown is second to none in the area. 100% recommend.
This is a wonderful care home for anyone considering becoming a resident. The facilities are quite unmatched making it a clear front-runner when looking into options in and around Edinburgh. What really stands out is the level of care and attention given by each department. They seem to be very inclusive when considering meal options, activities, and level of care. Would absolutely recommend going for a look around and speaking to the team if you are interested in this location.
I see all the staff working together for the residents, whether it be the everyday get-together or in memory lane. Respect and dignity are very much a high priority for each and every resident. Commitment to quality of care, as there is a resident questionnaire and discussion group weekly. Compassion and improving lives, I personally agree and witness - lots of opportunities for events happening. With the care that is taken with our loved ones overspills to the family members, we feel overwhelmed with the fact that we are as one and kept informed frequently. This is a very high standard of care.
One of the best-managed healthcare facilities I have ever experienced. Kind, compassionate, skilled care consistently delivered.
My dad moved into the care two weeks ago, the staff have been fantastic, making sure the transition from hospital to care home went smoothly. His room is lovely and very homely, he has lost a lot of weight whilst in hospital but the food at Queens Manor Care Home is excellent and he likes the choices on the menus. The staff have been very helpful too, even tagging all his clothes which was a great help to his family. Special thanks to the senior carer for sorting out his medication. Would definitely recommend the home in the future.
This is an exceptionally good care home. The staff are beyond equal and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or family. The level of the home sets an excellent example and this is mirrored right down to the cleaners. The food is good but it is a struggle for staff to meet budgets at the current time.
Dad has now been at Queens Manor for three years. All the staff are lovely and Dad is very well cared for. It's very comforting to know that Dad is safe and happy. There is plenty of activities throughout the week to keep everyone entertained. My sister, brother and I are very happy we chose Queens Manor for Dad.
This home has provided so much care and carers that give so much to us all. The entertainment is superb, with plenty of choice of things to do. The food is excellent with good choices. This place has helped me to find myself again and get my life back together. A big thank you.
Overall, I am happy here. There is a good atmosphere and the staff are helpful and happy despite being hard worked due to shortages, which may be why it has taken so long to get baths and hair washes at regular intervals. I have a good room with access to a spacious outside area and am able to indulge in gardening activities. I appreciate having my own desk and bookcase which allows me to continue with various projects via the internet.
