View Full Details of Barony Lodge Residential Care HomeWe are absolutely delighted with Barony Lodge in every way. Dad has settled in quickly and adapted well. We can visit him at any time of the day or night without prior notice. The home is immaculately clean, modern and bright. The staff are outstanding in every sense. Friendly, approachable, responsive, knowledgeable and professional. We have every confidence in them. The food is prepared on site and is exceptional. As visitors, we can also order food so that we can eat with Dad as well. I guarantee that it is excellent! There are a wide range of activities and residents are encouraged to participate. Socialising is encouraged. Dad especially likes meeting up with other men to talk about and watch football together. There are quiet lounges available to retreat to and an outside garden space and patio for soaking up the sunshine in good weather.I would encourage anyone to visit and make an assessment for themselves. Health professionals in our area know the home, and rate very highly.
Barony Lodge was chosen as the care home for my f-in-l after visiting all homes in the Nantwich area. It was chosen for is friendliness & cleanliness. All staff have been approachable, friendly & supportive. They have made great efforts to help my f-in-law settle into his new home. We are confident that we can leave him in the care of the staff at Barony Lodge, it has given us peace of mind after a long time caring for him.
My dad has been in Barony for a few weeks. He has settled in well & seems happy & well cared for. Staff are friendly & provide a warm, homely atmosphere. My mum goes to see my dad regularly & always feels welcomed. This is helping her come to terms with the difficult decision she's had to make of him staying full time in a home. Thankyou.
Mum was here for three years. Unfortunately she now had to go to nursing. Staff here excellent, no job was too much, the cleaners kept mums room clean and tidy. Friendly staff, we were made to feel like family here. Can the carer look after your Jeff (rabbit) and the team leader, don't have too much cheesy toast! Also, the manager, thanks for meals in office we are already missing you but we know you did upmost for mum and now understand this is best for mum if I could give you more stars I would.
What an amazing care home. Friendly and attentive staff, willing to help and assist residents. My dad (very elderly man) is treated with dignity - he is prone to falls so has just started to accept assistance to shower - a real leap of progress. Well done team! My daughters and grandchildren visit often and everyone is so nice. Thank you.
The care home was recommended by our social service provider, of which I had a look around to see what it was like for respite care for my sister, who has dementia. She spent Christmas week there. I found the care home clean, staff friendly atmosphere happy nothing too much trouble. She enjoyed it so much she didn't want to come home. A good result should we want to use again.
If you are coming to stay on respite for a few weeks or just require residential support only and you have very few medical conditions and need a bit of a rest then this place in my view would be good. When you visit here visit all the floors is my tip. If your person has dementia then consider this home carefully and ask questions (tips on dementia UK/Alzheimer's society) Visit a lot of homes that say they offer dementia care and compare. If you do want a really excellent/compassionate understanding of dementia or have more complex conditions/medical that require a bit more care then this home does not have a nurse on-site and the GP practice support could be better in my view. The home could be much more proactive in identifying potential problems particularly if you cannot visit regularly instead of relying on family to bring up issues. Communication face-to-face could be much better in that area. We have since moved our person as their needs were not met by this home.
My wife was a resident at Barony Lodge Residential Care Home for two years and being a frequent visitor myself, got to know the staff well during this time. They were all focused and professional and happy. The food was excellent and I made sure I was always in time for tea and the cook's wonderful cakes and sponges. Activities were well organised and regular. Singsongs were a favourite but sometimes I think I was the only one singing but with an audience. Furnishings are comfortable throughout the building. Sadly my wife passed away in September but I know that her time spent at the Barony were happy and comfortable and for that I will be eternally grateful to all the staff involved.
My mum was a resident at Barony Lodge Residential Care Home for the last ten months. During this time, her condition naturally declined so this was, of course, quite a difficult time for her and us. From Mum's admission to her discharge to hospital, all the staff were unfailingly attentive and considerate of Mum's changing needs. The rooms are always bright and clean, the food is good and varied. There is a wide range of daily activities from trips out to gentle keep-fit classes. Nowhere is perfect all the time but Barony is an excellent care home. Thank you to all the staff.
Mum has been in the care home for about five months and appears to have settled in nicely. The staff treat her with patience and kindness (my mum has vascular dementia). I am always updated if there are any problems, the staff are lovely and very approachable and make me feel welcome whenever I go to see my mum.
The care home staff are so attentive to the residents and their relatives. They looked after Dad so well with patience and understanding and when he was taken ill, they were supportive to us too. They made us feel welcome at any time we visited which is so important when you have a loved one in residential care.
When we arrived at Barony Lodge Residential Care Home, we were all very warmly greeted. Staff were excellent and very friendly which helped to put Mum at ease. The bedroom was spotlessly clean. The whole place is kept clean to a very high standard. I felt my mum was well looked after during her stay. Mum enjoyed her stay and told us so, she said staff were very caring and helpful. We all felt Mum was safe and secure with very good care. I would very much recommend Barony Lodge. The deputy manager, who dealt with Mum's care in the beginning, was also very caring and helpful.
I found all the staff excellent and very helpful. Food was tasty.
Excellent communication about Mum's care. Every aspect was gone through with attention to detail at every stage. The family all feel she is being looked after extremely well - we couldn't ask for better care.
After a few ups and downs, my mum has settled into life at Barony Lodge. A couple of incidents within the first month or so were dealt with immediately; I feel reassured that I can speak to staff about any concerns should they arise. Staff have been welcoming, friendly and always happy to answer any questions. Staff have a good rapport with the residents and visitors; I really feel like one of the family. My first thought after my mum moved in was, "this is how a care home should be run", I still think the same after eight months. All services are outstanding - management, care, housekeeping maintenance, laundry, food and activities; apologies if I missed anyone out. The design of the resident lounge, dining, kitchen and staff area means that a member of staff is mostly present, and residents are rarely left unsupervised. My Mum has her own ensuite wet room and access directly to the garden; we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you, Barony Lodge.
We couldn't be happier with the care and support our dad is receiving and feel very reassured that he is happy and safe living in his lovely new home. Living locally, we asked around about a suitable home for Dad and Barony Lodge came highly recommended on many occasions. Dad has been a resident for 6 months. He loves living there and has settled in so well. You can tell the team enjoys working there and they genuinely care for their residents. They are very knowledgeable and professional, with a wealth of experience. Dad's needs are constantly assessed and we are encouraged to be a big part of this process. The activities are fantastic and are tailored to both groups and individuals. The food is delicious and the building, gardens and Dad's room are always kept pristine and immaculately clean. It really is quite an exceptional place to stay and visit. Thank you.
Barony Lodge Residential Care Home has been, and continues to be the best choice of care home for my mother who has dementia. She is well cared for, and enjoys living there. The staff are all excellent. The home is kept super clean. Laundry is super efficient. I haven’t tasted the food, but my mother enjoys it, and always has a good supply of refreshments. There are many varied activities going on, for which Mum is given the opportunity to join in. The best thing for me is that Mum always says that she loves it there, and that is the main thing.
Staff are very caring with the service user, who is always well turned out and well fed. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and take time to answer any questions I may have. Barony Lodge Barchester Llys-y-Tywysog has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the residents appear happy in their surroundings.
Mum went into Barony Lodge after she continually suffered with cellulitis and constantly being hospitalised, originally for respite, although her date of admission was 23rd March 2020 - same date the UK went to lockdown due to covid. Over the course of lockdown the staff were amazing with her, assisting her with video chat with the family, keeping her occupied, but mostly ensuring she was cared for and safe from infection, providing peace of mind to all the family. Over the next 3 years (or so) Mum built friendships, mainly with the staff and became notorious for her crocheting and making blankets for many, many people, together with her many stories about her growing up and her family. Over the three years the staff have been amazing, had it not been for the fact Mum now requires nursing care, I know she would have gladly returned to the Barony family, I know this because she told me. Thank you to all those who either met, or came into contact with Mum.
From initial enquiry, through the assessment process and the first week's respite care for my mum, the professionalism, thoughtfulness and understanding from all the staff at Barony Lodge Residential Care Home have been exceptional. Their care not only to my mum but to myself and family has been welcoming and tailored to her/our needs. I was able to go away for the first time in twelve months knowing Mum was safe, cared for and well and truly entertained. Her rekindling of an old friendship with another permanent resident on a lower floor was facilitated and encouraged, making Mum's first stay much more happy and homely for her. She is looking forward to her next respite soon and we hope to be able to use this valuable service on a regular basis to support Mum's and my family's needs.
