View Full Details of Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing HomeMy sister has been looked after extremely well, and has been happy staying at Briggs Lodge. Every member of staff has been kind and considerate and nothing is to much bother.
Generally happy with care provided. Staff are always pleasant. When I visited Mum in December: 1. Her bra had not been correctly fitted. 2. Her commode had some excrement in the bowl. 3. The second floor, where Mum's room is, still smells of urine.
The staff have been very helpful, understanding and supportive of my sister. All the staff are friendly and have made my sister's stay as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. Communication with Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home has been good and any problems resolved very quickly.
Throughout his time with you, we always felt that our dad was cared for with love, kindness, dignity and respect. The staff were approachable and your open-door approach was very reassuring; we were made to feel welcome at all times.
Overall I have no complaints with Briggs Lodge, all the staff are friendly and attentive. We never had an issues with any aspect of my mother's care and only moved her to bring her nearer to my home, otherwise she would still be in residence.
Following a difficult time when I realised I could no longer care for my husband at home, he became a resident in Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home, almost twelve months ago, receiving care in the dementia unit. He is very happy and settled, getting very professional care from all the staff. He enjoys the food which offers excellent quality and choice. The staff are quick to respond to any health problems and keep me well informed if problems arise. They do not hesitate to liaise with the local GP surgery should extra care be needed. I feel all his health and social needs are very well met with plenty of activities helping him to engage with residents and staff alike. I would not hesitate to recommend Briggs Lodge for anyone requiring respite or long term care.
The care provided for my husband has been very good. The atmosphere in the home is pleasant and everyone seems to be happy in what they do. The food is good and plentiful. As someone else has observed, a weak link seems to be in the relationship with the GP, and depends on the feedback between the home and the surgery. There can be long waits to get or change medication and depends on the Nurse Practitioner who visits once a week normally. Similarly, the HQ efficiency is poor. I still have not received a formal request for any funds three months into my husband's stay! One thing that could easily be changed is the very irritating 'phone system. I don't need all the advertising and would like to be able to talk directly to the home.
Friendly and helpful staff. Always seems to be clean and welcoming. The manager, deputy manager and staff are always helpful. Internal coordination and communication are occasionally not as strong as I would wish, but overall, very good.
My mum has been in Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home for over two years now and throughout this time she's had consistently high levels of care and service. Every time we visit the home it's spotlessly clean with staff looking after and interacting with the residents. It seems to have a very good culture and atmosphere inside the home, which is good to know. My mum is very happy there.
The care has been amazing as my mum isn't mobile and they seem to look after her very well, she is very happy with everything which makes this process so much easier for the family. The rooms are modern with en-suite facilities and very comfortable.
A lovely care home, modern, clean and tidy, with fantastic staff. They are professional, well-trained and motivated. Quick to update us when Mum has a problem, fully appreciative of Mum's condition, needs and challenges.
New manager and acting deputy manager are very pleasant and cooperative. They are easy to approach and always make me comfortable.
Mum entered Briggs Lodge on the 3rd of October but sadly died on the 8th of November. Her final weeks were happy and she was well cared for by all members of the staff. She particularly enjoyed her meals! As a family, we were treated with kindness and respect at all times, especially at the end. Briggs Lodge is a bright, friendly and happy place. 10/10.
My father has lived in Briggs Lodge since January, and I have nothing but praise for the staff and the care my father receives. I live locally, so am able to visit often, once or twice a week and always receive a friendly greeting. Although my father hasn't made any close friends at Briggs Lodge, he does enjoy speaking with the staff, who appear to always be attentive and sensitive to how he is feeling. I have no hesitation in recommending Briggs Lodge to others. Excellent care delivered with a human face. Thank you.
I'm hugely impressed by the professionalism and the genuine care shown by every single member of staff I've encountered in Briggs Lodge. When I first visited, every staff member I encountered (even the cleaner), engaged with me and chatted. I would describe the staff as patient, confident and thorough, delivering a high level of care. My mother has improved in the two months she has been in Briggs Lodge. Her hearing aids now work all the time (Mum often got too confused to operate them properly) and she has put on weight (for the last year she'd been losing weight, while insisting that she ate lots). One small improvement would be more efficient telephone contact with residents. At present I have to negotiate two recorded menus then wait in order to reach the receptionist, then wait while she puts me through to the staff on Mum's floor, then wait while they find Mum. A direct line to the first-floor staff, for the use of residents and their families, would save everyone time.
When visiting, frequently advised of staff shortages. Very difficult to contact my mother via phone. My mother does not have a bath very often due to staffing issues.
The care I have received is excellent. The staff are caring, friendly and will respond to any requests cheerfully and make time to chat and are making my nursing care exemplary. The food is very good and tasty. All in all, I am treated as though in a 5-star hotel.
Both parents moved in from Liverpool in February and Dad went, in July. The staff were very supportive. Mum remains and is well looked after. She enjoys the activities and food.
My husband had one week of respite and was happy to return for a second week later. He felt safe and well looked after. Generally, he enjoyed his meals, but sometimes the meat was dry and hard to cut, probably because it had been kept warm for too long! He especially liked the rice puddings!
My mother has only been at Briggs Lodge for a short time, but we have so far found the home to be a happy, caring place, with some members of staff going over and above to make Mother's stay a happy one e.g with hair curling, nail painting and leading for her, as she has little sight. Although my mother can be very difficult at times, especially over food, the staff do all they can to accommodate her needs. An opportunity to discuss her progress would be good though.
