View Full Details of Scissett MountOur Dad came to receive his end of life care, in January 2025, together with the help and support from Kirkwood Hospice. The compassionate care given to Dad from all the wonderful staff, made such a difference at a very difficult time. Scisset Mount is very clean and comfortable, and no matter what time of day or night, nothing was ever too much trouble for Dad or the family. We would highly recommend them.
My father in law came here for end of life care at the end of January. Unfortunately he wasn't here long but the time spent there was made very comfortable for him. The reception staff always made us feel welcome at anytime of day or night. The carers were always very kind and caring. Just what we wanted. The home was always very clean and they kept my father in law very comfortable for his last month with us. Thank you.
My dad came in January 2025 to receive end of life care along with help from a local hospice. From the moment dad arrived the staff were very caring and compassionate which is what we all wanted as a family for dad. He praised the staff for all their help and in dad's words they are brilliant. We found the home very comfortable, nothing too much trouble and very approachable. Would highly recommend.
I regularly visit my brother-in-law and I cannot stress the excellent care he receives at Scissett Mount. The staff are amazing. They provide stimulating activities and are keen to interact with the residents, while showing empathy, kindness and respect. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the reception staff, management team, housekeeping staff and carers. The resident's rooms are attractive and offer pleasant countryside views.
My sister was transferred from hospital just before Christmas and my wife and I first visited within a week or so. We cannot speak highly enough about the entire establishment. She has progressed massively. The nursing home cannot be faulted. It is spotlessly clean, has great general and communal facilities. However, the most impressive part of the overall care relates to the quality of the staff. From reception to the nursing staff, they are all so attentive and caring. My nephews have made an excellent choice on behalf of their mum.
First-class environment for the residents including the menu and food provided and the cleanliness of the whole place. Most of all the first-class and friendly staff make visiting our relative a pleasant experience and we feel confident he is being well looked after and enjoys living there.
My Mum is really enjoying living in your home. She loves the trips to the theatre and the cocktail evenings. She is now enjoying baths which she hasn't done for years. She responds well to the calm and caring atmosphere created by all the hard-working staff. Every member of staff is kind, caring, thoughtful and respectful. It is nearly a year since she arrived so depressed that she didn't get out of bed for three months. She is now able to enjoy a different life without my Dad and I am very grateful.
Several times a week I have visited my friend. The staff always made me feel welcome and part of a family. The activities of which there are many daytimes, evenings and weekends, something I have never witnessed in any other care home. During my time I was able to observe good practice of person-centred support each and every time something we both appreciated very much. I also saw dignity, respect and compassion shown during my friend's final days, a team to be proud of, I will never forget you.
My husband is well looked after. The cares are so kind.
On the first day, I visited to see if it would be the right setting for my mum I received a warm welcome. I could clearly see the home was person-centred led. I took my mum to see if she would like it, she felt quite at ease with the staff and other residents. From the my mum moved in they provided a warm welcome, offered her a fruit bowl for her room and can clearly see this home is resident-led. All staff interactions are respectful and understanding of resident needs.
The team at Scissett Mount are truly great, they facilitated our grandad's 80th party in a private room with cakes and sandwiches, thank you all for helping us make his day special, as well as the great care you already provide. A special thanks to one staff member in particular for all your help (and for the coffees) you're an asset to the team.
The staff are very very kind here - they looked after both my mum and dad and showed great empathy when my mum died and have gone the extra mile to make sure my dad has been okay since her death. They are gentle and take time to build a good rapport with their residents.
Dad was falling and having toilet accidents constantly at home. We got him into Scissett Mount. It took six weeks for him to settle but now he loves it. Loves the staff. Has a much better quality of life.
The care and support my mother received during what proved to be her last month of life was exceptional. All staff were as supportive to us, her family, as they were to Mum. The thoughtful care, concern, communication and compassion were wonderful and made the experience of Mum's final weeks and days so much better than they might have been.
Mum has been at Scissett Mount for three months and is very happy with her care. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. When there have been problems, the management have taken the issue on board and dealt with it.
Having visited my close friend many times, I have always been warmly welcomed and find the care home to be very well run, friendly and exceptionally clean. My friend has settled in well and loves her spacious room and says she is well looked after and seems very happy. The management and staff are very friendly and approachable and are always around to answer questions and provide support. There is a great mix of regular activities and this includes events in the care home and opportunities to go out into the community. There are different outside spaces where residents can walk, sit and enjoy the fresh air. There is a lovely onsite vintage cafe where both residents and visitors can mix over a hot drink and cake.
I came to the care home never expecting to go home and have been given such exceptional care and support to improve my health and mobility that I am returning home against all my expectations. I have always been treated with dignity and respect and I feel I am not leaving carers but leaving friends.
I stayed here for respite care, having worked in care all my adult life, including some dodgy places, I was apprehensive before going. I needn’t have been. The entire staff team are lovely, encouraging and friendly. I felt listened to and safe. The team encouraged me to remember things in a way I could by engaging in conversations related to my interests. The two weeks have flown by and if I require respite again in the future I would not hesitate to contact them. The outdoor area at the back is peaceful and calming.
Staff are friendly, caring and patient. Continuity of senior staff means they pick up trends in residents' condition. I have never heard a raised voice from staff. Rooms are a good size, clean and with a nice view from most of them. Not the cheapest home available but the level of care and general atmosphere makes it worth it.
Our friend seems happy and settled. She has a lovely room, which is light and airy. The staff are always friendly and helpful whenever we visit, and our friend says that they are lovely.
