View Full Details of Southwell CourtThis home was chosen by my mum online out of all the ones available in the area. We were very apprehensive about how Mum would settle after a few bad experiences in the past and feel so relieved that from day one Mum has not made a negative comment and remained the happy smiley Mum we know. This is a testament to the care home and all it has to offer. Excellent all around.
Southwell Court exceeded my expectations. The management and staff are always available to discuss your loved one's care. record-keeping with respect to medication is excellent. Lunchtime encourages residents to eat together, there is also a communal lounge, daily activities and generally plenty going on but also the ability to enjoy the privacy of your room. There is an informal atmosphere, great management who are very hands-on themselves, and excellent carers who are passionate and compassionate. The informal atmosphere and professional care leaves you feeling it is a real home.
My mother has physical restrictions and anxiety problems which are very demanding conditions. She has been at Southwell Court for 5 months and I have visited frequently. The management is always accessible, if you phone the call is always answered quickly with a proper response and information. The home is always open and welcoming. The carers are a team that you get to know, they are attentive to a quick response buzzer system that works very well. They are professional, kind and compassionate and I feel my mother is in a safe environment with great care.
My mother is very new to Southwell Court. However, it's very important to recognise the help and support given to me by a particular lady, she is a credit to the company. The home is a credit to the company. Early doors I know but my mum has settled so quickly and this is down to effective leadership and great team work. Thank you to all staff, well done, you are all fabulous.
The care and attention given to my poorly mum has been excellent. They also had time to explain all that was happening and what was going to happen. I also was given some comfort and support when it was needed. Very thankful.
Everything was good. The food was excellent. Would come again.
During my three-week stay, I can find no fault with staff, food, cleanliness or activities.
Found everyone approachable and helpful. Even though Dad didn't want to join in, he was always given the opportunity, and staff always kept popping in to make sure he was ok. Thank you.
Although not mixing with other residents, Dad enjoyed his chats with members of staff. We found the staff friendly and attentive.
I cannot fault the care, compassion and attention my mother and my family received. Sadly my mum's time was short, but at all stages, she was treated with dignity and respect. During her end of life and after, the staff looked after us as well as Mum. Thank you; it made a difficult and sad time as easy as it could be. Forever indebted.
In the brief time, my mother spent the last few weeks of her life, she was treated with love and care. The staff are exceptional, offering her dignity and respect. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this care home. Patients and their families are made extremely welcome and comfortable. Thank you, Southwell Court.
Dad moved to Southwell Court permanently after a short period of respite care there. He loved it. The staff are so caring and thoughtful, often going the extra mile for both Dad and for Mum when she visited. They were always welcoming and friendly and knew exactly what was happening all the time. Dad loved the activities and all that was going on. The staff managed to make what could have been a difficult time for all of us so much easier. Dad was really happy in his new home. Thank you.
When Auntie had to go into the home, she was not happy about it. She had tried some but was not happy. But when she came here, she loved everything about it, and we are very happy with every about the home. Staff are lovely. The care she is giving is excellent. We could not have wished for anything else. I would like to thank everyone for making Auntie so happy.
Me and my nan agree that all the staff are lovely and overall happy about the service she is provided with.
The staff and food are excellent. More than happy for my mother to be here. Great job! (All concerned).
We had concerns about putting Dad in a care home and viewed a few. When we walked into Southwell Court and met with the manager, we knew straight away we would like a place for Dad. He was fading away at home and talked about giving up, but since being here, he is improving every day and looks really well for his age. He looks forward to the activities and is getting his sense of humour back; he even said, "I might make 90" - (he's 85).
At some stage in everyone's life, you have to make very difficult decisions. A few months ago I had one of those decisions, which was admitting that my mother would be "better off" in a care home, where she would be looked after and cared for. Of course, that is only part of a difficult decision. Where is the best place to meet her needs? Sometimes good fortune falls on you. I wanted somewhere that was local to her family, so we chose Southwell Court. The first weeks were anxious. Would she like it? Will she be treated with dignity? What will the staff be like? I have to say that I could not have hoped for a better outcome. The staff make or break a care home, and the staff here certainly make it. I thank them for the care that they show my mum and the treatment she receives.
Mum was nervous about moving into a care home, having lived independently for 98 years, but she need not have been. Southwell Court is clean, modern and light, and the staff are caring and attentive both to the needs of the residents and their relatives, and within a couple of weeks, Mum was referring to Southwell Court as home. We had originally proposed to move her to another home in the group after a period of respite care, but Mum decided she wanted to stay because she liked it where she was! Mum has a small appetite, but nothing was too much trouble to prepare if Mum fancied something to eat, and the entertainment kept her amused and occupied.
I live in the States, and the people at Black Swan are taking care of my parents. From me calling up to check on them and the way they treat my mother and father as their own family, I cannot praise enough every person that looks after them. If it came to a time I was required to go into a care home, this is the place I would want to be. Thank you isn’t enough for me to know my parents are well looked after.
Southwell Court too my father on a day's notice of respite care. They could not have been more helpful and friendly. My father felt at home within a day and loved the company, quiet, entertainment and food. The family were also made very welcome, even with the Covid situation.
