View Full Details of Falkland Grange Care HomeThank you all for your excellent care for my father. He came to Falkland Grange Care Home for a 2-week respite whilst I had an operation and then decided to stay due to the lovely staff, excellent facilities, great food and a good selection of activities. Thank you for looking after me too!
The activities are good. Staff are friendly. Care seems appropriate.
Excellent staff all round. Good activities and amazing care is always shown to our friend.
I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent changes at Falkland Grange, my dear friend once lived. It's with a heavy heart that I must bring these concerns to others considering this to be a good care home. During my last visit, I noticed a stale odour upstairs, which I reported to the receptionist downstairs. Unfortunately, I found his response to be rather dismissive. This encounter, coupled with the overall decline in the home's atmosphere, prompted me to share. Falkland Grange has seen many staff changes recently, including several outstanding carers, management who were friendly and attentive. The warmth and cleanliness that once characterised the home seem to have diminished significantly. I have observed growing dissatisfaction among residents and families. The care staff previously provided excellent support for my friend, who lived with dementia, but due to recent changes, family felt it necessary to relocate her. It's very sad to see the large decline in the home.
Falkland Grange goes the extra mile to care for their residents. Not only do they do all the essential caring and wellbeing duties professionally, they also stimulate them with many extra curricular activities that give the residents a sense of engagement with the community. There are visits by children who sing; experts bringing animals in to stimulate the audience, and local events taking place. There is bell ringing and carol singers at Christmas too. All relatives are encouraged to be involved in events and talks and attend as many as they can. The staff at Falkland Grange are friendly and open to discussion about all things that matter to the family members they care for. I often pop in for coffee and a chat with my father and the friends he has. My father enjoys his time there, and is safe and well looked after. Thank you
I have visited many Care Homes over the past 20 years as three members of my close family have needed to move into care. From our very first visit my son, daughter and I were very impressed with the manner in which we were treated and the warmth shown to us by all the staff as we walked around the home. Since my husband moved into his lovely room we have been very impressed. Many staff made a visit to his room and introduced themselves to him and have subsequently continued to engage him in conversation. We feel he is well cared for and very safe in the environment. The Activities Team have taken an interest in his interests and are eager to encourage him to get involved. We are of the opinion that Falkland Grange is the right place for him. Thank you everyone.
Falkland Grange is a beautiful care home. I have my old brother with Dementia and my mother with Parkinson both have moved here in the last few weeks. So far I cannot fault this home all the staff are so helpful. Last Sunday we booked the family room to have dinner for all the family, the head Chef was great, he was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, a very good service provided by Falklands from what we have experienced thus far. The rooms are wonderful like a hotel to be honest and the common room areas are wonderful. I was so pleased to see the range of activities that are available to the residents to make their stay mentally active and stimulating. They do all they can do to make your loves ones stay as enjoyable as possible. Very pleased that my auntie was lucky enough to get a place. The overall level of care and service is fabulous. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the care home.
My Father moved into Falkland Grange and all the worries of living alone and looking after himself disappeared. The staff have the approach that "nothing is too much trouble", which he really appreciates. He finds chatting and joining in activities with other residents mentally stimulating.
I had a very brief visit but was warmly welcomed by friendly staff and happy residents. Lots of activities are put on for residents with plenty of options available for them. Cracking cups of tea and a really lovely garden.
I found the staff to be very welcoming and contributed to the warm and friendly environment of the home. I particularly enjoyed the gardens, it was a lovely place to visit on our visit. Very impressed overall.
My mum has been at Falkland Grange for nearly four years, during which time as a dementia sufferer her faculties have declined. What hasn't declined is the quality of care she receives. Irrespective of their role, the staff are all positive, professional and supportive. This creates a wonderful environment for my mum to live in, a place she loves and where she feels safe, secure and respected. I don't live locally but have complete peace of mind that my mum is receiving both the best possible care and the best possible quality of life. I visit on random days/times and whenever I arrive the friendly atmosphere and excellent standard of care are always consistent. As is the support I am given, providing information and discussing my mum's needs. I cannot speak highly enough of the care home - it is exceptional. I would recommend Falkland Grange to anyone who wants their relatives to be well looked after, a home from home. I look forward to my visits enormously.
My father-in-law has received exceptional care since coming to Falkland Grange. His individual needs are catered to and he is treated with dignity and care. The activities arranged for residents are varied and interesting. The food is top-notch! We have only ever been greeted and treated warmly as family members.
My brother-in-law went into Falkland Grange in November as an emergency after my sister ended up in hospital after falling and fracturing her hip. He settled in well and is very responsive to the staff and certainly improved with his ability to move about and enjoys going out on the social activities. He has been unwell for the past week but the staff have been taking good care of him ensuring that he has everything that he needs.
Falkland Grange is a beautiful care home with lots of places to sit quietly or in small groups in addition to Mum's room. The staff whether they be nursing care, janitorial, food service, administrative or entertainment, all exhibit genuine care toward her. I cannot praise them enough for making this very difficult transition easier for her.
Mum moved into Falkland Grange Care Home a month ago as her dementia deteriorated past the point where she could remain at home. We knew the transition would be problematic and as a result, we were dreading the move. After dropping Mum off, we were advised to leave it four days before coming in, to allow Mum time to acclimatise. On day four, I visited and was amazed that Mum appeared very settled. Over the last four weeks, this has continued. There are days when she is a bit unsettled but no more so than she was at home with carers visiting every day. Positives are that Mum is now comfortable, safe and secure with 24/7 care. She is settled and calm, is sleeping and eating well and is benefitting from spending time with people which she hasn't been able to do in recent years. Negatives are that Mum wants to walk but this is obviously restricted for dementia patients. The building is amazing, the staff caring and wonderful and the coffee bar fantastic. It's definitely the best place that Mum could be.
My wife and I became residents at Falkland Grange Care Home just over a month ago and we are pleased we made this move. The care home and nursing staff are very friendly and professional and we feel well looked after and safe. The catering is excellent with well-balanced and varied choices available. The weekly diary of activities provides a social opportunity to meet other residents. We enjoy the well-maintained and designed care home that has many useful and thoughtful additions that give it a more homely feel. The garden lounges, library, cinema, gym and bistro are food areas to both relax and meet family.
Can't speak highly enough of the care home. Absolutely wonderful throughout. Such an incredible establishment.
My mother moved into Falkland Grange Care Home six weeks ago. She has found the move very difficult and has struggled to settle in but the care and support given by all the staff have been and remain exceptional. The home is comfortable and well-maintained, there are lovely gardens for the residents and their guests to enjoy and there are plenty of activities on offer.
My experience is limited to visits to my friend, thus, I have not have direct experience of most of your facilities/services.
