Millers Grange was a fabulous home for my great aunt. The care she received was so kind and caring and all the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. We were all treated so well, thank you to all the staff.
We have received the most wonderful care as a family in helping my mum settle into her new surroundings. It was very tricky initially as Mum wasn't keen but all the staff have been so kind and helped her settle as well as providing regular feedback to me. She is safe and warm and cared for. A weight off my shoulders. They were always confident that in time she would be ok and they were right with their help of course. We are really very grateful and would highly recommend it. They put her pictures up on the walls to help make her feel at home prior to her arrival. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Have been coming to Millers Grange since it opened. Have been impressed with the friendliness of the staff. This includes people not directly involved with their care e.g.: maintenance. Millers Grange is small but this allows for a personal approach to care where everyone is part of a caring community.
The home tries really hard with outside activities for its residents. Over the summer they've done a Thames river cruise, a trip to the seaside and recently some residents went on a trip to a nearby animal park to feed penguins. Wow - What wonderful memories each of these trips made for residents. For my mum the penguins were a dream come true.
My husband recently came to Millers Grange for 2 weeks of respite. Having heard very favourable reports about Millers Grange we were ready to see for ourselves. The manager and staff assured us that my husband would be safe and well cared for. My daughter and I can now confidently confirm that he was safe and well cared for. As a high-risk, vulnerable person, every provision was put in place for his safety. The staff are so friendly and the welcome you receive is an attitude that staff maintain effortlessly. Nothing is too much trouble and the recommendations that we made were implemented and encouraged. There is a really positive staff/resident ratio and from our observations, the staff are accommodating, approachable and friendly. The well being app for relatives of residents at Millers Grange allowed me to follow daily reports of activities that my husband enjoyed which I found reassuring. We would have no hesitation in using Millers Grange again for respite care.
I think the best way to evaluate Millers Grange is through my mother's eyes, and she is extremely happy with all aspects of her new life - her room, the food, the friendly and helpful carers and the facilities more generally. Having initially rented a room on a short-term respite basis, with some reservations - this, without prompting, and after only a few days, turned into a decision to stay as she was so happy in her new surroundings. I am impressed with the way that my mother was welcomed to the home and put at ease, the way that staff interact so considerately with residents and involve them in a range of activities, the excellent help and advice received from the outset from their management team and the way that the building itself is presented and maintained. I live a considerable distance away and, for me, the most important aspect is that I feel reassured, every time I visit or speak to her over the phone, that my mother is happy and in safe and caring hands.
Mum initially booked 2 weeks respite whilst I took my family on holiday, albeit Mum had reservations beforehand about staying at a care home, and agreed to try out whilst we were away, her prior perception based upon care homes of the past. After 2 days Mum was saying how lovely the home was, how very friendly all the staff were and that the food was excellent. Upon our return from holiday, Mum said it was so nice that she wished to stay permanently. The daily activities are posted a week ahead, with regular organised visits, the highlight this week to Boscombe beach rounded off with fish and chips and ice cream. My personal thanks to all the staff at Millers Grange for making Mum so welcome, with a special mention to the manager at Millers Grange, making the whole experience from the initial visit through to Mum's residency such a success.
What a great place, Millers Grange is. I had heard it was the best in Witney and was lucky enough to get Mum in fairly quickly - thank goodness. The staff on arrival were really caring and helpful. It made the move much easier than I thought it would. Visitors are encouraged and welcomed in every visit. Reception welcome you with a friendly smile. The permanent staff team are kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. The social team are friendly and encouraging and put on lots of activities for the residents. I can recommend that the move into care for my Mum was easier with the staff and building that Millers Grange provide. She is happy in the situation and encouraged to stay as independent as she can be while needing more help in her old age. A great setting and purpose build home with beautiful gardens. Food is good and lots of choice offered. All in all a great place for your relatives that need more care in their old age. Thank you.
My gran has now been living at Millers Grange for nearly 18 months on the Dementia floor. Despite a difficult time settling in at the beginning she has now adjusted to her new life in the care home with the support of all the staff is now much more relaxed. She now has the confidence and familiarity with staff to regularly participate in activities such as live music sessions and even a visit to the local day centre. Overall we are very happy with the care my gran receives and as a family are always made to feel very welcome.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful at Millers Grange. What is nice my father is allowed to stay and eat with my mother each day, so feels part of the family there. All very important when a couple have been together for so long. On the whole, our family are very happy with the care my mother receives.
Mum's experience in Millers Grange was a lovely one. We as a family and Mum found the staff very caring, nothing was too much trouble and the food very good. She had no complaints. We felt she was well looked after, it gave us peace of mind. She wouldn't hesitate to go back.
My mother is well looked after, the staff are very friendly and approachable. Everywhere is always clean. Nothing is too much trouble. All in all, we as a family are very happy with our mother being here.
Lovely care home. The staff are excellent, very friendly. My mother-in-law is very happy here.
I'm very happy with where my dad is, his dignity is respected. He has plenty to do, better social life than me! The staff are friendly and helpful.
Millers Grange has a warm, friendly atmosphere and on each visit we make, we are welcomed as friends. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the residents are safe, comfortable and cared for with numerous outings and activities arranged to keep them stimulated. We are always kept informed of any problems and we know we can discuss things at any time with the staff. The food is fantastic, nutritious and varied and the birthday cakes cooked fresh by the chefs are amazing! The most important thing of all is the fact we know our mum is being so well cared for, we no longer have to worry about her and our visits are relaxed. I would recommend Millers Grange to anyone looking for a caring environment for their loved ones.
Mum moved to Millers Grange in February 2022, she was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in 2019, it was a huge decision and probably the hardest we ever had to make, taking Mum from her home of over 30 years to a care home environment. From the very first visit, we knew that this was where we wanted Mum to be cared for, everyone was so welcoming and friendly and the home was bright and cheerful. We had many worries when Mum was living at home, was she eating? had she had a tumble? She didn’t have much interaction with others, all of those worries have completely disappeared. The food is amazing, three courses for lunch and dinner, tea and cake, and much more! Daily activities and trips out are arranged and it’s so lovely to see the photos of Mum smiling and enjoying herself. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are super with Mum and this shows with the smiles she gives them. Thank you, Millers Grange, I will be recommending you every time.
The manager is respected by staff, residents, and relatives. The staff are well trained which is ongoing. The overseas staff for the most part have good English and are very caring as are the rest of the staff who willingly give 'on the job' advice, activities for residents can be repetitive the mini-bus is well used for 'outings' to outside events. Residents appear to be happy and respond well to the carers and actively organize all of whom keep an eye on the residents for their wellbeing. The entrance area and the home inside and out are very clean and well-maintained. However, in the summer months, some of the agency staff used to cover for holidays are not up to the standard performed by the permanent staff.
I really appreciate the great job the Miller’s Grange team did over the 2 weeks when a family member was staying and unwell. She received truly exceptional care throughout: there were great facilities, accommodation and activities. But in particular, the staff were excellent. They did so much to ensure my family member was happy, comfortable and able to recover. Thank you for all the work you did and continue to do!
My mother came in for a spell of respite care. The staff were very kind to my mother and looked after all her needs, she was very contented. I also found the staff most helpful with my dealings with them. My mother's room was a good size, bright, very clean and warm, just exactly what you would want. The food was also good and varied. Millers Grange could not have done more for my mother, it is a very happy place and I would certainly recommend it. Thank you.
All excellent.
