View Full Details of Carpathia GrangeAs a family member of a new resident, I have been supported with incredible empathy and understanding by all the staff. Especially the care home manager and the deputy manager. My mother has settled in well, and we are both very happy with our choice of Carpathia Grange.
We cannot speak highly enough of Carpathia Grange and the amazing team who work here. Our mum has been a resident for over four years and has high complex needs, none of which seem to phase the staff at all. The empathy and support we and our mum has been shown and given over these years is exemplary. Our main reason for writing this review today is to thank the staff for never, ever 'giving up on mum'. They continue to look for ways to involve her, to keep her safe and to give her some quality of life in extremely challenging circumstances. Their kindness and enthusiasm shines through and we are so grateful for this. An example is the regular Namaste sessions, which are organised and run by the staff. We had the opportunity to join mum for a session and could see the calmness this brought mum. In summary it's the doing those extra things, going the extra mile that we continually see at Carpathia Grange and makes it a special place.
I arrived from being a patient in the general hospital to convalesce and after a fortnights stay I was able to walk again with the help of a frame. Everything was done to help me back to good health. Regular meals, exercises with occupational therapy, visits from district nurse, where needed - regular drug rounds. Outings to various places of interest and various entertainments during Christmas and New Year. All in all, my stay in Carpathia Grange was a most enjoyable one. The management and care were so good. A happy place to be recommended. All of the carers were lovely people.
I am now in my second year being a resident at Carpathia Grange. From my first day here, I was made very welcome. I enjoy spending time meeting other residents. When I wish to be private, my room is very comfortable. When I need help, as I have done, the staff are very supportive. My family and friends are made very welcome. I do not think about what I can't do, I think about what I can do, I can do a lot.
My dad resided at Carpathia Grange for three and a half years until he sadly passed away just before Christmas, aged 94. My mum also resides at the home and has been there since July 2023. The care given to my parents has been outstanding. The staff are lovely and have been totally supportive throughout, none more-so since dad's passing. The home is well maintained and always looks as though it's brand new - excellent facilities with many lounges and social areas including cafe and bar/cinema. Food is of a very high standard. So glad we found this home for mum and dad
From the very start I have found all of the staff to be most welcoming. They have provided a space which he considers his home. He actively likes all of the staff and lights up when he is greeted by any of them. They respond promptly to his needs in an efficient way. He is warm, well fed and he is happy. The staff all seem to be fond of him. What more could I ask for?
First impressions on entering Carpathia Grange are of a lovely, clean, bright and welcoming environment. The staff are extremely kind and helpful and treat the residents with great care, devotion and respect. All residents and staff are always immaculately dressed and the whole atmosphere makes for a very happy and caring home. The ensuite bedrooms are well equipped and spacious and the restaurants are beautiful, serving an excellent choice of meals. Various activities are organised daily, word games, pamper sessions, films, knit and natter, visiting sings and musicians, plus many more, and special seasonal events marked throughout the year. The harbour coffee lounge always beautifully decorated with the appropriate theme of the season. My mum has recently needed regular round the clock eye drops and these have been meticulously administered, without fail, in accordance with the hospital and her condition is improving well. I would like to thank all the staff for making Carpathia Grange such a lovely home and when my time comes I hope I can find such a lovely place. Thank you everyone.
So grateful that Mum lives at Carpathia Grange, she enjoys the facilities and it seems the staff genuinely care for her. There's usually something fun happening, and the place itself is lovely, with a nice variety of food and snacks. Team leaders are strong on relationship-building and detailed on things like care packages and end-of-life care. When it came to financing Mum's care, staff were in our corner and we were able to make our case successfully, which was a huge weight off our minds. Additionally, the fact that Mum has been here for a few years speaks volumes - she feels her life is worthwhile and people are genuinely interested in her. Well done, all!
I have lived in Carpathia Grange for a year. I don't like it, I love it! Thank you.
My husband had a very nice room. The staff were very kind and welcoming. The food was also great.
Have visited my friend several times and have always been impressed by the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness of Carpathia Grange, and the general level of efficiency. The home is very comfortable, well furnished, and has lovely facilities.
Absolutely outstanding care. We were all so new to this and all the staff have been supportive and made my Nan feel completely at ease. We won't hesitate to return!
I have nothing but praise for Carpathia Grange. I didn't know how to proceed about getting respite care for my Mother, everything was explained to me, and help was given when I wasn't sure. The customer relations manager even helped me with social services and got the ball rolling. She went above and beyond. The staff are the friendliest, happiest people ever and nothing is too much trouble. They are so busy but always have time to help anyone. I wouldn't have any doubt in her going back there or recommending them.
The care given at Carpathia Grange is outstanding. The staff are extremely helpful, caring, and respectful towards everyone, residents and family members. I have worked in care for many years myself and I have to say Carpathia Grange is by far the best I've come across and I would highly recommend it. I feel my mum is cared for to a high standard which gives our family peace of mind.
My mum went into Carpathia Grange approximately 6 months ago, the standard of care has been excellent, the staff have been very supportive, and helpful in getting her settled. In addition, the level of communication is very good, helping/ explaining DOL process, support in applying for attendance allowance, and also just generally keeping us informed of how she is coping.
Sadly I lost my dad this month and just wanted to let everyone know about the care/support Dad and we received from all the staff at Carpathia Grange. From start to finish all the staff have been outstanding in their care and support and even though Dad was unable to participate in some activities the staff made sure he was occupied and stimulated in some way (he loved the Mobil music/activities TV screen) also loved visiting the garden and listening to the birds. Dad always spoke of their excellent care and thoughtfulness throughout his time in Carpathia. I personally would like to thank all the team in Carpathia for helping me through his final days and hours, you made this sad time much more bearable. Thanks for everything.
I would recommend Carpathia Grange to anyone with elderly relatives who need that extra care with all staff genuinely concerned with their patients' well-being whatever their complex needs may be there seems to be something to help and keep their residents stimulated and comforted. During my father-in-law's stay he was treated with all the dignity and respect we all desire for our loved ones. I was truly impressed with the way we were welcomed and kept informed every step of the way until he sadly passed and how truly professional and helpful everyone is. My sincere thanks and gratitude go to everyone.
All the staff are efficient, caring, compassionate and kind. My Mother has settled well and is much less anxious than at home. The staff are helpful and approachable at all times.
Surroundings are perfect. Excellent staff and carers. Had a lovely day on my birthday recently and a delicious cake provided to include residents nad friends. Food could do with some thought.
Carpathia Grange is a lovely place to end your days, it is like a home. Now, I do artwork which I have never done before and many other things.
