View Full Details of Alban Manor Nursing HomeDuring two weeks respite my husband was very well looked after. The staff were caring and considerate and always available when needed. The home is very well managed with staff who ensure that all the needs of residents are met. The receptionists are helpful and welcoming to visitors. Indeed I would happily recommend Alban Manor to anyone looking for residential care.
I can't put into words how grateful I am to Alban Manor. My mum was so poorly and thanks to all the staff at Alban Manor she's walking again and has become independent. I'm so thankful to all the staff, from the kitchen for helping her to put on weight. Night staff for saving her life and all staff for helping her to walk and live.
My husband spent his last 9 months at Alban Manor and the care he received was first-class. The staff are so caring and compassionate and I couldn't have asked for better. They were also so welcoming of the family and visitors.
My husband is very happy here. He has never asked to go home although he likes going on a trip out. Staff are very friendly to our sons and me whenever we visit. They keep us well informed on how he is getting on. We have always been impressed by his care.
The staff established very good relations with the resident and with family members, keeping us informed of any changes.
The staff are amazing, the level of care my mother received was nothing short of the highest standard. This is also in the level of care and compassion she was shown. I cannot recommend Alban Manor highly enough, this is truly an amazing care/nursing home.
Alban Manor provided a month of respite care for my father after a fall and a period of delirium. He stayed on the first floor with dementia residents and received appropriate care and attention. Managers and staff always listened to our feedback and made sure that he was safe and comfortable.
My mother was admitted into Alban Manor Nursing Home for end of life care. From the moment I met with the first staff on the door, I felt this to be a warm, professional, caring and loving place. Alban Manor felt like a home where even I, as my mother's daughter, felt cared for. During the short time my mother was there, she was treated with dignity and all her needs were met. Her room was light and airy, and specifically given in a place where she wouldn't feel isolated. The family dog was even allowed to make visits! The team at Alban Manor work to the highest professional level but somehow still manage to feel like family. I cannot thank them enough for making what has been a very difficult time so much more bearable by their compassion and kindness.
Alban Manor is a special place where you will always feel welcome and able to trust the team to do the right thing for your loved one. My Dad was a resident on the dementia floor for seven months from October 2023. He was so well cared for by the whole team who are very kind. Dad lived in three care homes over 5.5 years; Alban Manor and the team were by far the best at everything. When I moved Dad from another home, he was immobile and needed a hoist to get up. Within weeks at Alban Manor, he was mobile again, able to walk with a frame until his final couple of weeks in May 2024. The team are professionals, they really care and they are very good at communicating which makes life so much easier during a difficult time. Thank you.
Well cared for by all the staff.
Mum was in Alban Manor for a year until her death in February 24. Her needs were thoroughly assessed prior to her move and on arrival, a care plan was already in place and specialist equipment set up. She was assessed again on arrival. The professionalism of the staff was exemplary. Mum settled quickly and her physical condition improved immediately due to the professional care she received from the nursing and care staff and the way she was treated with dignity, respect and kindness by everyone. Our large family was always welcomed, and we felt fully involved in her care. We had access to her care plan which was updated regularly, and we could view a record of her daily care at any time. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately and suggestions we made were included in her care plan. We feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful nursing home for Mum. Thank you to all the staff - nurses, care workers and admin - for your friendliness to us and the excellent care you gave Mum.
From the day she arrived until she sadly passed away, our dear mother/grandmother received care and compassion of the highest order from every member of staff. For that we will be eternally grateful and cannot speak highly enough of Alban Manor Nursing Home.
My dad was in Alban Manor from 2021 until November 2023 and was looked after and cared for so well every day until his passing at the end of November 23. My mum then first went into respite at Alban Manor from the hospital, becoming a resident in January 24. This is where Mum wanted to be knowing she would be given the same care and affection Dad had, also knowing her friends and family would be made welcome when visiting. Again, like Dad, Mum was looked after so very well until her passing, on 2nd April 2024. All the staff were and are amazing, very kind, special, caring people and treated Mum so, so well until the very sad last day. Thank you.
My mother was very apprehensive about going into a care home after living independently for 89 years. The staff were kind and caring. She soon gained confidence. All my emails were replied to very quickly by senior staff. My mother was only at Alban Manor for 4 weeks but in that time she put on weight, which was wonderful and began to get back to her old, happier self. A great reflection of the care/time/attention she received at Alban Manor. Thanks to all the staff!
All the staff were extremely caring and compassionate. Dad could not have been more loved and cared for in the short space of time he was at the home, which made it more bearable for me and my brother during a very difficult time. I would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone at the home.
My husband was a resident at Alban Manor for less than six weeks until he sadly died, and he received excellent care there. Everyone from the matron and the management team, to receptionists, nurses and carers were not just professional and efficient, but unfailingly kind, patient and caring to him. They were always friendly and helpful when I and other family members visited and showed extraordinary compassion and sensitivity to us in the very difficult days leading up to my husband's death. My husband had coeliac disease and attention given to his gluten-free diet was faultless.
As "unofficial guardians," we were 100% delighted with everything that Alban Manor provided.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful once they understood what I wanted. It was my first experience of respite care and initially, I was not made aware of some of the systems, timings of meals and help with personal care. Once I understood how things worked the earlier difficulties were resolved.
My partner and myself were delighted when a place became available for my dad at Alban Manor as this was top on our shortlist. Right from the off, pleasant and professional staff made Dad feel welcome and safe. Any concerns Dad or ourselves might have had were promptly addressed with kindness. My brother was encouraged to hang Dad’s chosen pictures in his room and make it his during his stay. There was plenty of input to interest the residents which unfortunately Dad was too frail to take on but nonetheless offered. The most important thing for us was Dad was in safe hands.
Dad could not have been in more professional, tender and interested hands at a very difficult time for him. Everybody went the extra mile, made it fun and tried to interact. Dad had everything thing he wanted to eat and everyone’s love. I cannot thank everyone for making Dad's final months so comfortable. One staff member in particular, you are a legend, I am sorry I didn’t have the words.
