View Full Details of Richmond Villages CheltenhamMy Dad was admitted for a 3 week respite following a really bad fall at end of November 24. He was in a bad state and really needed nursing to pull him through. From the moment he entered his room he started receiving love and care from the staff. As the time went by it was obvious that Richmond Villages was the best place for him on a permanent basis. He has completely settled in and has regained much of his independence. He enjoys the carers attention and he has built very good relationships with a number of them. He takes part in a number of activities and particularly likes his fitness sessions! His family often visit him and we all enjoy talking with his carers and other residents. Dad obviously misses being in his own home but he recently celebrated his 99th birthday with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The staff were magnificent in helping us with arrangements to utilise the Linwell Lounge and even provided a birthday cake. So thank you one and all!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the care you gave my Mother last weekend. The whole Linwell team were wonderful.
I spent 3 weeks at Richmond Village Cheltenham Care Section end of November/early December 2024 recovering from a hip replacement operation at the nearby private Hospital. I checked in early to Richmond Village and they arranged transport to the hospital and return to my room. I cannot praise the attention and care I received enough from everyone at the village - the staff and nurses checking on my welfare day and night, the physio/gym and exercises, the entertainment and decorations of my pre-Christmas stay, the food and drinks in the two restaurants and cafe, the friendly attention of all the staff and many of the long term residents who all seemed pleased to be staying at Richmond Village, Cheltenham. I will certainly stay there again when my other hip needs replacement! The whole complex is surrounded by mature gardens, well maintained and like a 5-star hotel!
Richmond village site is a little gem, hidden away in its own small woodland setting. It provides first-class care for a wide range of needs in a safe and caring environment. When visiting it often feels more akin to being in a top hotel setting than a traditional care home.
My mum had five days of respite care at Richmond Village - Cheltenham. The staff were all so lovely, kind and caring. Many members of staff went over and above what you would expect in order to reassure my mum and to accommodate her. I would highly recommend this care home.
My mum moved to Richmond Villages in August 2024. It took a while for her to settle, having been in her previous home for over sixty years. The staff at Richmond Villages were so welcoming and caring which helped so much. Mum joins in with all the activities, of which there is a wide and varied choice, and is making new friends. I cannot praise every member of staff enough for their kindness and thoughtfulness. I have not come across one without a smile on their face and always a lovely greeting when I go to visit. Mum moving to Richmond has put my mind at rest. The cleanliness is outstanding and the meals are wonderful, I have enjoyed a few of them with Mum myself. I cannot recommend Richmond Villages enough.
I can't thank the Richmond Villages team in Cheltenham enough for the way they have welcomed Mum to the dementia ward under very sudden and difficult circumstances. All involved have taken over Mum's care beautifully having been equally well looked after by the Richmond Villages, Painswick team. A credit to the management and staffing of both facilities. I know I can speak on behalf of my whole family when I say an enormous thank you for helping us take care of Mum since my Fathers's unfortunate passing three years ago.
I can not recommend Richmond highly enough, both of my parents have stayed there at separate times. They have required respite care with very different and difficult issues. We have always felt very welcome and it is a relief to walk in knowing how I will find them in such a wonderful environment. Great care always excellent cleanliness and food which I have tried in the downstairs restaurant for special occasions which has been enjoyed by all the family. Staff have always stepped in and supported us with so many of their needs which always gives me piece of mind.
From the moment you walk in you are always met with a smile and friendly reception staff. The village has a very nice atmosphere and beautiful decor. The staff are all very helpful and go beyond what you would expect them to. The rooms are very comfortable with everything the residents will need. The food looks amazing too for the residents and the downstairs restaurant is great for residents and friends too. Overall it’s a fantastic place to live in beautiful grounds and well kept gardens.
My wife who has dementia spent two weeks at Richmond Villages Cheltenham, convalescing after knee replacement surgery. Everyone involved, from the cleaning and catering staff to the ward nurses and managers, was attentive and empathetic to all her needs. Her condition got temporarily worse after the operation but this was managed in a most caring environment to the highest standards. The short convalescence was crucial in her recovery from the surgery and the care team at Richmond Villages ensured that the outcome has been very successful. I cannot thank them enough for the outstanding holistic care provided during her stay.
Stunning setting from inside and outside, very well presented with clean, modern, spacious rooms. With a beautiful dining room with a grand piano and bar. Lots of activities for the residents to take part in something for everyone! The staff and managers will go above and beyond to help with anything for you. You are treated with the most respect and consideration.
It is an extremely caring organisation. The atmosphere throughout is of friendliness and support. The facilities are amazing and well-used. Every day you are invited to join one of the many activities, painting, craft work, quizzes, choir, Church service, flower arranging etc. Flowers are then used to decorate the restaurant tables. Meals are excellent and served in the restaurant or in your room. Nursing staff and carers were very attentive, as were housekeeping and laundry. Staff in the restaurant unfailingly cheerful and helpful. Always being addressed by name which added to the friendly family feeling. Activity hostesses were first class, always encouraging your participation and introducing you to new people. I can thoroughly recommend Richmond Villages Cheltenham.
My mother was struggling with all aspects of life very confused and I hate to say, a burden to us. She finally accepted that everyone needed a break. We put Mum into Richmond for three weeks. We spent many hours researching different care homes. Mum went in with the attitude that she wanted to rest and be alone. The staff respected this but within days she was mixing in walking on her own (which she was unable to do at home) and a much happier and level-minded person. On visiting Mum in the home we could see her improving and enjoying herself and the activities. Three weeks later we brought Mum home to a clean and more user-friendly home and she is back to her old self. I can't thank the staff who Mum now considers friends enough. I am also going to be recommending to her that she has another 2 or 3 week break there so that we can all recharge and refresh.
My father has settled in well. The care home is like a 5-star hotel. The care that he gets is also 5-star so we as a family have made the decision he is now a permanent resident. Can’t fault this care home.
Patchy - some very good.
I would like to formally thank all of the carers who have supported my mum and dad, and particularly during the time when Mum was very poorly and passed away. During her time at Richmond Village, my mum did initially flourish. Supporting a group of people with dementia is clearly challenging, but the carers have such patience and every resident is made to feel valued. Mum was treated with such dignity balanced with a sense of humour. As my mum's health failed she was cared for like a member of a family. Since my mum passed away, my dad has understandably required additional support. The staff have responded to his needs. I feel confident that he is well looked after. I should also mention the other staff in the home, particularly those on reception, who always welcome me with a smile. I cannot thank the care team enough for their support of my mum, dad and our family. I always recommend Richmond Village Care Home to anyone who is in a similar situation.
I had hip replacement surgery and as I live alone with no family, a friend suggested I go to convalescent. She researched and found Richmond Villages Cheltenham. I cannot praise the place enough, from top staff to all who make the day go so successfully, everyone is cheerful, has a smile, polite and nothing is too much trouble. The staff allow you to do as much or little for yourself as you want, with no forcing but support is always there. There are obviously people who I don't see but add to the lovely feeling and running of the village. Food was better than many five-star hotels I've stayed in, with excellent choices and a great restaurant. Experienced nurses see to your medication. This is somewhere I can highly recommend to all. Thank you.
The level of care shown to my mum is exemplary. Without exception, all staff show compassion, have empathy and are totally professional, in addition to being affectionate. We could not wish for more, in terms of caring for our mum's needs.
My husband was very comfortable during his stay for respite at Richmond Villages Cheltenham. He enjoyed and appreciated all the attentive care. His room, though a little small to accommodate his wheelchair and walking frame, was bright, comfortable and clean. The only criticism would be that his conveen catheter was a mystery to all, even though I had assurance that all staff were well-versed in fitting it; going back to pads was a retrograde step. Apart from that, the nursing care was irreproachable.
I visited with my mother for a trail stay to see what the facilities had to offer and was most impressed with everything. The staff were exceptional, the room was most comfortable and the food - delicious. We loved the atrium and had the most delicious tea on the rooftop area. All in all an excellent stay.
