My mother was in The Haven Care Home for a very short time but I was always impressed with their professionalism, kindness and cheeriness. The facilities are just superb too. The manager went to great lengths to provide extra care for Mum.
My aunt moved into The Haven after staying there for 2 weeks of respite at the end of December. She loved it so much, she made new friends and enjoyed the activities and the food, she didn't want to leave. The management team supported me and my family to keep her there permanently. My Aunt has loved every minute since. The staff are so friendly and look after her well. Thank you so much to the amazing team!
I visit my very close friend every day and he is so happy at the home. He calls it his home and that's all I care about. I have recommended this to others as the staff are utterly amazing. Thank you from me.
I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and welcoming this home is. The staff were all very helpful.
My partner has dementia and Alzheimer, whilst she is healthy and physically fit, her memory, understanding is poor and sundowning is an issue. I visited The Haven to discuss respite. My first impressions was "wow", also the friendliness and understanding of the manager was so reassuring. Whilst being shown around and speaking to both residents and staff, it was obviously a happy environment. The extras such as the bar, courtyard, activities programme, ensure service users are well catered for. After a half days respite, I am confident that this is the place for my partner.
We visited the home and met the manager to talk through care for my mother. My father and I were very impressed with the facilities, cleanliness and caring staff. My mother is at The Haven as a daycare resident one day a week at the moment. I am hopeful that this additional support will improve life at home for her and my father.
My friend moved into The Haven for a couple of weeks care. The service was excellent, the staff and particularly the management did everything they could to help us with the stay. Very flexible, quick and efficient. The Haven is very clean and comfortable with nice home-cooked food. I would recommend.
My husband has Alzheimer's and every now and again he goes in for two weeks respite. It helps me through a stressful time and he enjoys his stay. Overall: 1) Very clean, everyone is friendly 2) Food excellent 3) The decor is very stylish, bright and colourful 4) Very accommodating when we ask for help 5) All the staff, carers, even the maintenance people. cook are all excellent
My father-in-law is very happy here, staff are great. He is much healthier/happier since moving to The Haven. Thank you, you all do a wonderful job.
From first walking to home it felt really nice, a gentleman sat in the reception area told me it was the best place to be, he only went in for respite but liked it so much he stayed. When the manager showed me around I was so impressed with the rooms, it is very modern and spotless. Sometimes I have lunch with Mum and you wouldn't get better food in a five-star restaurant, afternoon tea is served with homemade cakes. Carers are very kind and nothing is too much trouble. It's top drawer. Wouldn't want your family to stay anywhere else.
Pleasant premises with helpful friendly staff and management - one of the best.
The Haven looked after my incredible uncle in the final few months of his life. They went above and beyond in every sense of the word. Our family and my uncle were reluctant to move Uncle into the care system after previous bad experiences but we could not have asked for more. He even said to me, "if this is where I end my days, then I am happy". The care is amazing but the life they bring to residents' days is what sets them apart. They have been amazing to us, as a family, no he has passed and we are grateful beyond words.
Having been a manager of a similar large care facility in Dorset and having knowledge of the diverse situations and requirements of residents, I am delighted and very impressed with the care and attention of my elderly friend. I have witnessed first-hand the staff, and especially the manager herself, dealing with the resident's needs and well-being. The residents are always happy, content and loved, even the support networkers (handymen, cleaners, kitchen staff, laundry persons) everyone, infact, really cares for every resident and each other. It's a very happy and friendly environment.
My mum didn't want to go into a care home but she was unable to look after herself at home without lots of support. After viewing all the care homes in the area, I felt that The Haven was the best one available. After going into The Haven she has settled in well and looks happier and more relaxed as she has company all day if she wants it. I feel happier as my mum is happy and I know she is safe.
I have been visiting The Haven, Boston for some months now both to visit friends and to lead worship for residents. All the residents have been extremely positive about conditions, relationships and support and I have found all the staff without exception to be courteous, proactive attentive and respectful at all times and demonstrating a 'team' ethos not so discernible in other establishments.
From arriving to leaving all the staff I have met are super friendly and extremely helpful. The home is modern and very clean. I was amazed that there is a salon within the building which looks very inviting. My friend's room is spacious and clean and has a fantastic patio area which she can enjoy straight from her room via patio doors. She is extremely happy there and is delighted with the food, activities, entertainment the staff and she has made many new friends. I would highly recommend this home!
After a couple of weeks of starting to struggle living independently whilst caring for my mother (aged 90) it was obvious that my father (aged 91) needed some professional help. Following an initial enquiry to The Haven regarding respite care the wonderful manager came out to visit my parents at home the very next day. She explained the options and described the facilities and services and we were able to view a room the following day. In fact, they were both able to move in the next morning - less than three days after my initial contact. The staff were so friendly and attentive that our family felt confident that my parents were in the best possible hands.
We found the staff and management very friendly and helpful. The person we visit tells us the food is delicious. We found the home very clean and tidy. The residents seem to have plenty of things to do. The outdoor space looks neat and tidy and although not in full bloom at the moment, I'm sure the keen gardeners among the residents will be able to get involved during the summer months.
The manager went out of her way to get my father-in-law (step) into The Haven as an urgent request following a discharge from the hospital. The carers and the care they gave was excellent, all staff I saw were polite, kind and nothing was too much trouble. The kitchen team ensured that meal choices were excellent - brilliant care home.
I cannot thank the staff at the home enough for being a huge part of my mum's life. She first started staying at the home beginning of 2020, following several falls at home. My mum was reluctant to go to a care home, however, she felt at home here and the staff were like her family. After a few more months at home (and hospital following falls) she stayed at the home for longer periods. After a few more falls at home and the pandemic and lockdown, she made the hard decision to give up her home and live at The Haven. She brought as much as she could from her home - including many, many pictures and Knick knacks. The staff were brilliant spending time with her, chatting about her family and many adventures over the last century. The staff did as much as possible during Covid to enable us to visit and many phone calls and nothing was too much trouble. The staff always provided her with the care and support that she wanted and they always gave her the time she needed. Thank you.
