View Full Details of Barchester Herne Place Care HomeMy Mum has been a resident at Herne Place for almost two years. She has been diagnosed with Dementia and is unable to live independently. The care that she has received has been outstanding. Every member of staff is caring and she is always treated with great respect.. I have absolute confidence that she is warm, safe, cared for and very well fed! I have recently had to sell her property and it has taken a great amount of time and effort. The admin staff have really supported me during this difficult time and have not put me under any pressure at all. They are exceptional and generous with their time. Moving Mum into Herne Place was a huge thing for our family but it was definitely the right thing to do and she is very happy.
My mother has been a resident for almost 4 years at Herne Place. I can honestly say that she is happy and has built close relationships with the staff at all levels there. I was fearful and sad in the beginning, especially after losing my Dad, but looking back over these last few years, it has been the best choice for my Mum. She is well cared for, spoken and treated with dignity, and has a special bond with many of the staff. They lift her days. Her daily needs are taken care of, her room is always beautifully clean, lovely food freshly prepared throughout the day, lots of activities and more tea than you can imagine. My mum's frequent request. The teams all function well for an overall positive result. Many thanks to those who do go the extra mile.
The team at Herne Place have really helped mum settle into the home. I've felt the team have really listened to me when I've talked to them and implement high levels of care. I'm always greeted with such warmth when I visit mum and I know mum feels very well cared for.
Making a memory: A few of the family were visiting mum at Herne Place. Thank you to the reception staff who suggested a group family photo in the loung - with there assistance the experiance bought lots of cuddles and created lots of laughs, we have 14 lovely photos to mark the visit which the family are overwhelmed with. Thank you for making a lovely memory.
When Mum went into respite at Barcheste Herne Place Care Home it was only supposed to be for 2 weeks. The care from each and every member of staff has been exceptional, you really feel like part of a big family and the rooms can be made to feel very homely. I cannot fault the love and care my mum has been given and we are thankful every day that we found Mum a home with Barchester Herne Place.
My friend has been at Barchester Herne Place Care Home since March 2024. However, due to her dementia getting worse, she has had to move into nursing care. I cannot fault Herne Place, they have tried during the last two months to look after my friend but it has become too difficult. All members of staff give 100%. Even though my friend has only been in Herne Place for nine months, she has been well cared for. It's a shame my friend has had to be moved as she seemed to like it at Herne Place.
This is a wonderful, brand-new facility. The staff are very professional and positive and helpful. Rooms are brilliant. Care is excellent. My brother has Parkinson's and requires a lot of help and mobility. Good balance of activities and room rest. Good crew. Food, meals and menu are top-class. We had Sunday roast with him and daily coffee and biscuits on entry. Such a modern, artsy building. Loved the bright colours and art. Prices high but comparable to others. I highly recommend Barchester Herne Place Care Home.
The care home itself is amazing. Very clean and new. The activities and food are amazing. The front desk coordinator, the activities organisers and care team are all amazing. Our major issue is that your care team ( in green) are too short-staffed! Please hire more care team workers, especially on the residential floor (promenade). We suggest having a care team manager to help organise care needed. We were always able to speak with a front desk coordinator yet we were sent to find "anyone in a green uniform" for help with care needed. Unfortunately, there were only two on our floor and if they got caught up in a resident's room it could be over a half hour to speak with them because it is not appropriate for us to go into someone else's room to connect with them and ask for non-urgent assistance. Therefore, either a "floating carer" that the front desk can contact right away with a care request or a "readily available" care team manager to manage care needs would be helpful. Thank you.
This care home and all the staff, from carers to reception to admin, housekeeping and beyond, have wildly surpassed all my expectations and given me a peace of mind I no longer thought possible. The care my mum receives is second to none and just seeing her content and safe and knowing she is so well cared for is priceless. The transition from her own home to becoming a resident was one I had dreaded for so long but at every level, the staff have been magnificent. I will never be able to thank Barchester Herne Place Care Home enough.
"The hotel" is a really caring environment. So many dedicated and genuine staff.
Kindness and care of staff is really good, but there is a sense of not enough time for them to really do their job properly. More staff on each floor would be the solution.
The overall care is extremely good and they look after the client's well-being. The food is good with a balanced variety. There are many activities to help stimulate the residents. The home itself is kept spotlessly clean.
A home-from-home but with the addition of five-star hotel facilities available at all times. I am told that the food is fantastic. Visitors are made very welcome and dogs!
My mum has just become a resident here after the passing of my dad. Everyone has been amazing, from the time we came through the doors nothing was too much for anyone, everyone talks to my mum and is kind and caring. It's a family community and I can rest knowing she is being cared for. The rooms are wonderful, smell lovely and clean. Can not fault anything even I was helped from the first til the last step. Amazing place and even more wonderful staff.
Mum has been in Herne Place Care Home since November 2021. She is very happy here making lots of friends. Her room is beautiful, just like a hotel, the food is excellent, and it is also nice to be able to make ourselves a drink and have a slice of cake when visiting. It has given my sister and myself peace of mind knowing she is safe and well cared for. I know that Dad would be happy that Mum is here. Thank you so much to the manager and staff for all your hard work, it is greatly appreciated.
Mum went into Herne Place Care Home just before Christmas 2022, and I cannot fault the care she has received from every single member of staff at Herne Place, everyone is friendly and exceptionally dedicated to resident's care and management are incredibly helpful and friendly also. The home has the feel of one huge loving family.
Mum has been with you for almost eighteen months now. In all that time, I have always been confident that she is receiving the very best of care in a very clean, friendly and luxurious home. Although she has suffered illness and falls, I know everything possible is in place to extend her stay in the most comfortable way.
Delightful place - lovely staff, helpful and friendly. Good food.
Excellent staff and facilities.
Herne Place Care Home is a home from home allowing couples to continue to live together. All of the staff (not just carers) are caring and take their time with Mum, they also have time for the family. The food is excellent, and the cleanliness is first-class. I would recommend anyone with any doubts about going into a home give Herne Place a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.
