View Full Details of Woodford House Care HomeMum moved into Woodford House following a stay in respite. I chose Mum's room before she arrived, the staff settled her in very well, they looks after her daily needs with dignity and care. She has lots of appointments to join the many activities that the care home provide.
My nan came in May during that time we met so many members of staff who worked tirelessly to make her stay as pleasant as possible. She enjoys spending time with the activities team who have gone out their way to include her. Five star care home.
All the residents are treated equally with care and compassion. Generally, the response to residents' requests for help or assistance is promptly acted upon. If several require help going to the toilet at the same time there can be a bit of a delay.
My mother has been cared for in Woodford House with kindness, patience and respect. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager of the home is approachable, and operates an open-door policy so is always available to assist with any queries or any support that is needed.
The staff and management keep relatives informed of how residents are doing and if any change or medication is needed. They try and vary activities and mix the residents with other units. The management are trying to encourage residents to eat well by providing fresh fruit and drinks they can access between meals and healthy snacks. I feel my partner is being well looked after by the friendly staff.
Dad has been a resident since March 2023. In that time Woodford House has been excellent. He is cared for extremely well, with conscientious nursing and mobility assistance as required; particularly in respect of his arthritic pain challenges. His pain management, medical, and emotional, along with his changing mental condition, are fully respected and overseen with kindness and diligence. Woodford House is a positive, cheerful environment, undoubtedly due to the professional, caring, home manager, and the exceptional caring, nursing and auxiliary staff. When visiting I see how this super team relate to their residents (and families), all with kind words, smiles and essentially, time to talk. At the time of writing, Woodford House's high-quality care will only improve, when a new Activities Coordinator joins in the next few weeks, bringing fresh activities to stimulate residents even more. Finally, the gardens surrounding Woodford House provide a lovely space for outdoor time. Woodford House is a safe, caring, positive home. I have no hesitation in recommending it.
The staff were very attentive and caring.
My review reflects the fact there is a staff shortage. All the staff are very kind and helpful to all residents and are always ready with a smile or cuddle as needed. They work very hard to keep everyone happy, despite staff shortages, always with a smile. I would like to have given excellent's but they need more staff.
The care all the staff have given my mum has been wonderful, so patient, professional and caring. Thank God my mum was moved here after a horrific experience at another home.
Found the staff and general experience very positive and I can't thank them enough for the help given to my mother. Thank you.
All the staff were extremely helpful.
I would recommend this place to everyone. They are so caring, my wife is better now she is being cared for by your staff.
My dad was unwilling to come to the care home at first but after a short time he settled in well the staff were very friendly and helpful. If he has to go in a care home in future yours would be top of the list, all the staff went over and above.
My mother has been well looked after during her stay. All the staff have been extremely diligent in all duties. Excellent.
Very pleasant surroundings. Staff are excellent. Food is very good.
I was transferred here by the hospital when they wanted my hospital bed empty. It appeared that the home was only required to provide bed and board as it were, with assistance to toilet, some help washing and the occasional shower and hair wash. All of which has been done. I find it very difficult spending some 14 hours in bed with the rest of the time in a chair, looking out at the windswept car park with a border full of weeds. Some of the trees and shrubs are dead. It does not create a good impression of what the home might be like. On the whole, my stay is acceptable. Meals are usually cold and over-cooked and lack freshly grown vegetables. Lots of pulses, swede and carrots. Generally, the staff go out of their way to be helpful.
My elderly mother has been a resident at Woodford House for nearly a year and has received the greatest care anyone could wish for in their old age. My elderly mother has health issue complications that have been promptly dealt with by the medical staff and doctors, who regularly attend the home. This has given the family great peace of mind and reassurance, knowing that 24 / 7 care is being given. Government restrictions on visiting care homes have meant visits have been limited, but the home has made every effort to allow contact and visits to take place, whilst still maintaining the safety of every resident by following strict safety precautions relating to wearing PPE and testing for Covid 19, before allowing a visit to take place. On every visit, I have been welcomed by members of staff and have been impressed by the professionalism and dedication shown by everyone involved in the care of my mother, who has shown a great improvement in her happiness and general wellbeing during this time.
My neighbour and friend has been living at Woodford for the last month, and it’s so nice to see her looking well and happy. The staff have been so caring. It’s never a bother for them to let us know how she is. Such a great team, from the care staff to the administrator who is always happy and cheerful when you call, she really can’t do enough to help.
We are extremely grateful to the staff at Woodford House who cared for my mother in law during the last months of her life. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we were unable to visit her as my husband and I both have medical issues. I was particularly pleased to have a conversation with her on the speakerphone a few days before she passed away for which I am extremely grateful. Your care to residents at this difficult time has been much appreciated by my family.
I find the staff and nurses very caring and friendly. The home always looks very clean and my husband seems very cared and looked after.
