View Full Details of The Grange Care HomeThe comfort and security that The Grange gave to my wife was exemplary. Her room was always clean and tidy, being able to add a few personal items from home was beneficial to her settling in quickly. The staff were kind, caring and friendly, particularly the activities team, whose patience and activities were very welcome and I enjoyed a trip to the garden centre for coffee and cake. The hairdresser kept her looking lovely. Although her time at The Grange was shorter than expected, we cannot fault the care she received.
Our dear mother stayed at The Grange Care Home for just over four years. She considered this as her true home, with care, and attention from so many kind staff. The environment is bright, clean and homely, with lots of activities, run by enthusiastic and committed staff. I cannot praise the care team here highly enough, my only suggestion would be; please raise their pay rates, they all deserve this in recognition of all their hard work.
The Grange is excellent in all aspects of care. The care everyone provided is well beyond what we expected on arrival. Mum enjoys being made to feel so welcome and not a burden. The food is excellent but not always to Mum's liking! She needs to learn to ask for alternatives! The only problem is the ongoing parking for visitors during the day, very frustrating for my father, otherwise really good.
My aunt has been a resident at The Grange Care Home for almost three years. Although staff members have changed frequently over this time, care has continued sympathetically and professionally throughout.
The staff are all very friendly, smiles are great. They look after my mum really well, patient and helpful.
Staff very helpful. The manager is over and above - very helpful and professional. Excellent facilities. Can't fault anything. Outside gardens need attention. The resident's patio area is very nice. The Grange is situated very nicely in Newport. Lovely view from the outside front of the building.
My mum was a resident at The Grange Care Home for just over two and a half years, during which time she couldn’t have been looked after better. The home is beautifully equipped and extremely homely, but more importantly, it’s the carers and whole team of staff at The Grange who made her life so happy and enriched during the time that she was with them. They really did care for her and all of the residents in every sense. The food is excellent with lots of variety and the activities at the home are fun, stimulating and really well planned and thought-out. When it came to the end, they looked after her and us amazingly well and we couldn’t have wished for a better place for her to have been. She was part of their family and they were an extended part of ours and we feel incredibly grateful to everyone at the home. Thank you!
My late mother spent nearly three years at The Grange Care Home. Our overall experience has been very positive. High quality management, very caring and competent staff, good facilities and good communications have been key. The room was lovely and kept clean. They had a difficult time in covid but they managed it reasonably well. Staff levels dipped then but were quickly restored. My mother always felt happy and secure there and they were on top of her needs. They reacted well to her ongoing medical needs and the occasional need for interventions. We felt she was respected at all times. There were some good activities and trips - although it would have been great if there had been more of them. Overall my family are very grateful to all at The Grange Care Home and would recommend it to others.
Mum was in The Grange Care Home for nearly four months at end of her life. She was looked after very well by all the staff who genuinely cared about her welfare. We were shown around whilst choosing a Care Home for Mum, the feel we got for the Home was backed up by what we saw and felt once she moved in. From the Manager to Reception, Hospitality staff, Housekeeping to Carers everyone was kind, friendly and caring and respectful. Food was varied and good quality as well as plentiful, although Mum didn’t join in the activities they looked stimulating for the Residents. The Home has a lovely family feel, our only regret is that Mum didn’t move there sooner so she could enjoy what was on offer. I would certainly recommend this Home to other families
We have been very happy with the care my mother has received. The management and staff have been proactive to her needs and in keeping contact with us. I would not hesitate to recommend The Grange Care Home to anyone looking for a professional and caring environment for their loved one.
The Grange was home to my Dad for the last 6 weeks of his life. He had delirium and it was quite a challenge to look after him. But throughout his stay, he was treated with kindness and respect and dignity. The Grange is like a 5* hotel, the facilities, the bedrooms and the delicious food. We couldn't have asked for a better environment or more caring staff. A particular mention to the staff who were marvellous and treated my Dad, not as an old man but as a personality who had lived a full life and was deeply loved. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
My mother became a resident at The Grange after having been discharged from the hospital in April 2022 following a serious fall, firstly for respite care and then permanently when it became obvious she couldn't return home. Her well-being and her safety have been my main concerns and to that end, The Grange and its staff have provided that safe environment, as well as excellent care and attention. She has been treated with nothing but kindness and respect from the staff who made the effort to get to know her as a person and her likes and dislikes. The menu caters for most tastes and the residents can have alternative options if the menu for a particular meal is not to their liking which is good as I know from experience, that older people can be a bit fussy at times. The Grange is bright, airy and tastefully decorated; rather like a 5-star hotel.
Having chosen the Grange to become Mum's new home, we as a family, know we made an excellent choice. The care and support she received in the first few months made Mum's move from her family home of over 40 years, easier for her to make the transition. She asked to be placed where she would have 24-hour care and emotional support which has certainly been provided by the staff at the Grange. Now that all the Covid restrictions have been lifted, she is happier and enjoying the activities provided and making new friends.
Friendly staff and fantastic facilities. My father needed respite care for a few weeks as I was going away. My father has never been in a care home before and was quite apprehensive. I’ve heard nothing but positive comments from him and he says that he felt he was on holiday too! Thank you for taking such good care of him and putting me at ease with the great communication and facilitating video calls.
From the initial enquiry to date, we have been so impressed with the reassurance, kindness and professionalism we have been shown. Every communication has been responded to swiftly and we are kept informed well. Most importantly, our mum has continually told us how well she is being looked after and how kind everyone is. We love seeing the activities on Facebook - she always looks very glamorous with her regular hairdos! Thank you all!
All the team at The Grange are without fail welcoming, warm and so helpful. Despite being affected by the staffing issues the industry is facing as a whole, they all work so hard to look after the residents. My grandmother was in a different home previously and since moving to The Grange, we have seen such an improvement in her mental state, her mood and her enjoyment of life. They not only care for her well but educate her as to her condition so she understands what’s happening to her as she ages. This has made a huge difference to us all in a positive way as it has reduced her fear and confusion significantly.
My Dad was one of the original, first residents to join The Grange from April 2020. What started as respite, at a really difficult time, became long term residency for Dad as he was so happy and so well cared for there. He always adored good food and the quality of what he received there was excellent. His room and surroundings we immaculate and we so appreciated seeing him so content there.
Mum has been a resident since last November, and I cannot tell you the peace of mind it has given me knowing she is safe and well cared for, especially in these trying times. The staff are always there to help the residents and relatives, and there are always activities to keep the resident's minds and bodies active. Mum says the food is always lovely, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Thank you all, and can't wait to try the Bar once reopened!
As a daughter who had been increasingly caring for my mum (who has dementia) for years, the crunch point eventually came (in lockdown!) and after a final difficult three months of caring and living with her, a care home became the only viable option. But of course, I was very worried that anyone other than me would be able to give her the level of care and affection that a family member could. Yes, The Grange is luxurious - definitely- a brand new building designed with wide corridors, large bedrooms, amazing food and wonderful in-house services. The activities put on are exceptional - a beach visit (yes virtual in lockdown!) and a ‘mood room’ for gentle sensory stimulation. However, the most important thing is that every aspect of care is tailored to my mum and, I’m certain, to each resident. Kindness and compassion run through this place. Thanks to every single member of staff!
If you are reading this please do not hesitate about visiting The Grange for your loved one. My mum loves it here, the care she receives is outstanding, and she is very happy here. Accepting my mum needed to go into care was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do after caring for her as long as I could, she initially went into another care home, and I was devastated, she hated it, I was heartbroken, but then she was transferred to The Grange, and we, as a whole family, are eternally grateful for the way the staff have looked after her and our mental well being during this very difficult pandemic - I honestly cannot praise and thank them enough. The care home is five star standard in all ways, and I could not recommend it enough. This will not be my last review - I am sure of that.
