View Full Details of Upton Mill Care HomeSuper friendly staff who are incredibly helpful and polite. The facilities at Upton Mill are excellent. My father has all the help he needs to be safe and healthy and he's always commenting on how great the food is and the staff being friendly. I would recommend anyone to Upton Mill.
Very pleasant. The staff are very caring.
Despite my concerns at the terrible state of my mum's feet, my meetings at senior level, photographic evidence and requests for medical help, the response was very poor and slow. Personal hygiene is not adequate for all body parts. Showers are infrequent unless I request them, fingernails are never cut, not enough time is given for personal care despite the staff being caring. Too many agency carers fill in - not ideal for elderly people. Dirty clothes are not washed and keep being worn.
My wife stayed here for a week and found the service and staff excellent. Apart from a few minor lapses in service e.g. liquid not thickened at the start and I found one tablet had been left on the table on one day when I visited. All these were dealt with at the time and the staff and management were very quick in addressing these minor issues. Overall, my wife came out looking better than when she went in.
Experiencing considerable breathlessness subsequent to a chest infection, I sought respite care as I was temporarily unable to care for myself. I also wished to avoid burdening my children. I had heard well of Upton Mill and having been assessed, took the offer of residential care for a week. Being in the home was the right thing to do. I have been well cared for, warm and rested. The public rooms are well furnished and pleasant. The meals are well-presented, of good quality and nutritionally varied. The staff are courteous and kind and there is a wide selection of entertainment available. I shall bear it in mind for future needs as they arise.
My father moved to Upton MIll after losing his wife. He has mild dementia and was sad and confused. From day one he has felt welcomed and cared for. Staff have gone the extra mile to help him settle and feel at home. Healthwise he is now much better than when he lived at home. He is flourishing and as a family, we are very happy with his care.
I believe my mum is well cared for and her needs are met. I do feel that staff are very busy and therefore do not have time to sit and chat to residents, taking their mental welfare into account. She is basically happy and enjoys life at Upton Mill!
My father enjoyed two weeks of respite care at Upton Mill following time in hospital after a fall. He felt well cared for and was in much better shape after his time here.
As a first-time resident, I was made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff.
Having no previous experience of a care home, we found Upton Mill Care Home to be a happy, well organised and friendly place to stay for 3-4 weeks respite care, including physio, in my case. Somewhat restricted to my room, I only had lunch in the dining room once but all meals brought to my room were good, tasty and nourishing. Response to the call button was excellent. If i may comment on one possible short coming, that was the lack of direct light for reading when confined to the bed, either wall-mounted or standard lamp might work.
Mum and Dad are both residents at Upton Mill. The staff all go above and beyond to help them.
Mum has been a resident at Upton Mill for over 3 years. Throughout that time, she has received excellent care and kindness. She never wanted to have to move into care, but now she looks on her room as home. Aged 98, she still enjoys many of the activities available, especially sing a-longs and has made new friends amongst the other residents. I can thoroughly recommend Upton Mill to anyone looking for a lovely care home.
The best thing we ever did for/with Mum, who is cared for, happy, thriving and making friends. The staff from reception, housekeeping, cleaning, nursing and management, including all support teams are totally committed and truly give their all to keeping all the residents safe with dignity and to helping residents and families feel at home and welcome. Peace of mind for all of us. We highly recommend Upton Mill Care Home in Tetbury.
Mother-in-law, 96 years old, has been a resident since April 2021. She moved from another home that closed. We chose Upton Mill due to being in the same area and was a new, purpose-built home which met all her needs at the time and moving forward in her dementia journey. The Manager and Deputy are very visible within the home and very approachable at all times. The home is very welcoming with a friendly reception, all the staff are friendly, approachable and very caring even when under pressure. The food is very good more like a restaurant and all dietary needs are catered for. The home is very clean and kept to a high standard. All rooms are en-suite and very spacious, you can bring your personal items to make them more personalised. Care reviews happen yearly but you are updated with any concerns regularly and also they have a resident of the day where you get a call asking if you have any concerns and they also speak with the resident. Activities are daily and have improved during the last year.
All your reception staff are outstanding. First impressions are so important.
I have been a resident here for several years now initially for respite following operations for cancer. This was just a few nights over several years. Since 2023 I have been a permanent resident here and am very happy, so much so that before long my husband plans to come here too! I've made lots of friends who are happy here too. We all have lovely rooms, the downstairs ones having patios on which you can put your own garden furniture. The activities organiser is second to none! All staff are well chosen!
Mum has been living at Upton Mill Care Home for 4 months and during that time she has settled in incredibly well and already says she's very happy to be there. All the staff are very friendly, caring and professional, and when I visit I always feel very welcome. The facilities on offer at Upton Mill are first rate and the surroundings are well thought-out and tastefully designed. It's lovely to be able to get a coffee and cake when I visit and relax either in her lovely room or in one of the many communal areas and gardens. Mum is also able to go on trips in Upton Mill's own minibus and she has made new friends and taken part in the many tailored activities that the home has to offer. Truly a home from home.
We would highly recommend Upton Mill, all the staff, without exception were so caring, helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble, housekeeping, laundry, tea and coffee making, welcome on arrival, care package, regular medications reviews, dining arrangements - all handled with cheerfulness and thought. The dining room, lounges and hub area are decorated to a high standard and my Mother was very happy with her room. Regular relatives meetings are held which is helpful for all the questions that you have as a daughter/son.
The client services manager very kindly took my mum in on an urgent basis as her home had been flooded and she needed somewhere to go for a couple of weeks. Mum received excellent care and everyone was very kind to her. The care home was clean and tidy and the food was excellent. My only complaint was maybe the room needed one extra table and chest of draws.
Thank you to Upton Mill Care Home and the wonderful staff who made my mother's difficult move to them so much easier. All staff are caring, helpful and cheerful. When she has needed help it has been done in the most professional manner. Visitors are made to feel very welcome.
