View Full Details of Mere Hall Care HomeMy Dad went into mere hall from Dec 2024 - Feb 2025 for the last 7 weeks of his life. Managers seniors, health care assistants, domestic team, laundry, activity's staff, cooks, maintenance are utterly amazing in their own ways. Everyone showed care, compassion & dignity to him, from popping in to say a simple good morning or just to ask how he was. The care itself is second to none, Towards the end of his life we always knew & said we would be their until the end, Mere Hall gave me & my daughter the chance to be by his side for the last 48 hours until he sadly passed away. As Family we felt welcomed, supported, guided & well looked after, with no pressure to leave. We can not thank the staff at Mere Hall enough for all the care, compassion & understanding that they provided. Each went above & beyond not just for my dad but for us to. The home itself is beautiful with a real home from home feel, clean warm, comforting with a care family that make a difference to all, Thank you.
Everyone at Mere Hall looked after my sister for the last eight weeks of her life. She was treated with dignity, respect and genuine loving care at all times in the most comfortable of surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. My sister was unable to leave her room and they even arranged for her to have a fully decorated Christmas tree to enjoy over the Christmas period. Thank you to all those who directly knew and looked after her, you know who you are and I will be eternally grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you too for always making me and my wife feel welcome every time we visited. You really are the best!
What an amazing place it's like walking into a five-star hotel. My mother is a resident at Mere Hall care home and it has to be said what amazing teamwork there is from the receptionist who is always happy and smiling and eager to help up to the manager who puts in a big effort to keep us all informed on how things are going and is very involved in the care my mother receives. My mother has been quite poorly lately but they all pulled together and got her through the worst phases of it to bring her back to her old self which I thought we would never see you again and we know has not been an easy task for them. The carers have been fabulous and are more than eager to help with a constant smile. I love the fact that every time I have been there I have been offered tea or a coffee by the staff. I would like to thank all the staff members for their contributions to making it a great place to be for my mother including the chef because the food looks lovely.
My mother-in-law moved to Mere Hall in June 2024. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming to the home, from the cleaners and laundry staff to the carers and managers. The home is kept beautifully and all the residents appear settled and happy. We are always made to feel very welcome and feel this home goes above and beyond, thank you for all you do it really is appreciated.
My Mum came to stay at Mere Hall last week. She has settled in very well and looks happy and comfortable. She's having all her needs met. The staff are all lovely and welcomed my Mum and us as a family. I feel very confident that she will be looked after very well.
My Mum came into Mere Hall Care Home on Tuesday the 10th of September. She seems to have settled in better than we could have imagined. Mum looks so happy, comfortable, and calm. All the staff are extremely attentive and reassuring. Already my Mum looks healthier and destressed, my sister and I are confident our Mum will be looked after well and cared for with her complex needs which thankfully are now being met.
Dad has been a resident at Mere Hall Care Home for 2 1/4 years before his death. He was very happy, loved the staff and they loved him. During the last two weeks of his life he deteriorated quite quickly and the staff and management were wonderful. His room was made special with soothing music and special lighting, all very calming. The home is always immaculate, residents rooms very comfortable and good choice of food at meal times for residents able to participate on and an extensive entertainment programme is available. I would recommend Mere Hall to anyone.
The care and attention my dad received was second to none. Beautiful, clean room, excellent food and wonderful staff. He was having a residential respite stay following a fall. Despite his initial concerns about having to stay away from home, he has nothing but praise for everything. Thank you all so much.
A very homely feel, right from my first visit. A lovely Easter Sunday lunch!
My mum stayed in this wonderful home for 8 weeks respite care following a long stay in hospital. Her health and mobility improved considerably whilst in their care. The facilities are amazing and the staff go over and above to ensure their residents are well looked after. I can’t imagine any other care home to be better than this. It really is five-star. Thank you.
My mother and father arrived at Mere Hall during the Covid epidemic. My mum is still there, although Dad has passed away. The facilities and care at Mere Hall has been excellent during the Covid time and beyond. There is always a good ratio of well-trained and friendly staff, who meet the needs of Mum who has dementia and other needs caused by a stroke. They listen to concerns and make every effort to support you with their care of your relative. The building itself is more like a hotel (a good hotel!)and they have staff who make sure residents have activities and trips as well as a very good menu offering. Relatives are encouraged to come and spend time with their loved ones e.g at meals and special events. I think the costs are very fair and good value for what you get.
Weekly visits are a pleasure. Helpful reception and all nurses say hello. My relative is safe and cared for. Mere Hall Care Home offered some fantastic dementia training which was appreciated. Work hard to help residents keep their independence and great hairdressing/beauty service. My grandma is needing additional support and this is being cared for. There have been a few comments about the food being very similar and not to the high standards it once was but I am unable to determine if this is due to old age!
Since our mother arrived at Mere Hall in September 2022 until her passing in November 2023, the care she’s received has been exemplary. This was especially the case during the final weeks of her life. The staff went above and beyond to make her final days as comfortable as possible. This support also extended to the family. This made the experience much less distressing and helped us come to terms with the unfolding situation. We can’t thank the staff enough for everything they’ve done.
My father went to stay for respite at Mere Hall Care Home following a 2 month hospital stay, I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and support they have shown Dad during his stay. The home is beautiful, peaceful and extremely well run, nothing is too much trouble. It was the perfect place for my father to rest and recuperate. Dad has now been able to return home but would not hesitate to return in the future for respite or on a permanent basis if necessary.
My father and his wife have been residents of Mere Hall for over a year now. Last week my father began end-of-life care. I just wanted to acknowledge the total care and support that every single member of the team gave to myself and my siblings, my dad and his wife. I cannot praise Mere Hall enough. They were all so attentive to my father's needs that nothing was too much trouble. When he needed medical attention, the staff made sure that contact was made and a visit organised; they were persistent! We spent a huge amount of time at the Hall during the last few days, and the care and support we received were second to none. My father's wife is 95 and was heartbroken and frail; she received constant care and attention, with everybody being very aware of her needs. I want to thank everybody at Mere Hall on behalf of all our family for the very sincere attention and genuine care we all received; it made such a difference to us and made my dad's last days as good as they could be. Thank you.
Mum has lived in Mere Hall for almost 2 years. Mere Hall manages compromise (of funds, supplies, staff etc) without loss of quality. That reminds me of a Hoover advert 'no loss of suction even when full' or something like that! (Mum was excellent at hoovering, she sought perfection!) This saying is similar regarding Mum's care and happiness because Mere Hall manages to deliver the best care for her even when stretched to their limits with resources, during covid and current UK difficulties that we all have. Surely this can only be achieved if each staff member really cares and there is good leadership at all levels. I wish this was the standard for all care homes, available to everyone. Well done to you all and thank you. I would recommend Mere Hall to any person in need or just wondering.
Mere Hall Care Home accepted my Dad for respite care, at home he was struggling, and so were the family, we needed time to set up his house to try and enable him to remain at home and independent. My immediate reaction was what a lovely place, clean, open plan and just unlike any home I had viewed. After three weeks there was a remarkable improvement in my Dad, both visibly and mentally, he was so much more interactive, talked about the people he met there, how nice the food was, how nice the staff were, impressed with his new hair cut! My experience with all the staff I interacted with was excellent, so friendly, caring, if I asked a question they went out of their way to help, this was from the catering staff to the carers and management. We will have to see how my dad gets on but I would not hesitate to let him return there. If you are putting your loved one into care, you have to be sure it’s right and I want to review this home to give others the confidence to be able to do this
My Dad is ninety-one years old and has been a resident at Mere Hall Care Home for almost two years. He has advanced Alzheimer’s, no mobility at all, plus several other health issues but thanks to the dedication, professionalism, respect and compassion shown by everyone involved in his care, he is pain-free and content living in Mere Hall. Mere Hall is an exceptional place, it’s not unlike a rather smart hotel, Dad’s en-suite room is just perfect for him. It really is very different from any other care home I’ve seen and dare I say it, it doesn’t have the slightest hint of that all too familiar care home smell. It’s the people who work there that really make Mere Hall special though, from housekeeping and maintenance, carers and cooks, the amazingly inspired activities coordinators, management and more, they all work as a team to provide the best service they can. My sister and I couldn’t wish for a better place for Dad to spend his final years.
My husband was admitted to Mere Hall Care Home after discharge from hospital. The building and all rooms were beautiful decorated and clean. The staff, carers, cleaners, chef, kitchen, laundry, secretarial staff, porters, in fact, everyone, was understanding and caring. Mere Hall deserves credit for the way patients are treated. All the activities during the day were very much appreciated. Thank you everyone.
Mere Hall Care Home is a fantastic care home with great facilities but it is the staff that makes the difference. They are amazing and care for your relatives as if they were their own. Our Dad went into Mere Hall in August 2021, initially for respite care, however, due to the skill of the staff it became clear that he needed specialist care and he moved to The Haven. There he received exceptional care to cover his range of disabilities. All the staff are professional but have the human touch, always looking to give Dad the best care and support he neeeded. This made the family feel happy in the knowledge that was he safe and well cared for. Even through the difficulties of Covid they have managed to keep everyone safe. They have activities every day both in the morning and afternoon that stimulate the mind as well as the body. Even at the end of his life he was treated with utmost respect and dignity. The family would highly recommed Mere Hall.
