View Full Details of Henley HouseMy mother has been in Henley House for a few months now and on every visit we have been welcomed by the very friendly staff. There are so many activities going on daily and families are invited to join in, it's a lovely atmosphere.
It's very good, excellent. I have no complaints. I wish I had come here 10 years ago. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, I enjoy all the activities, there is always something going on. The rooms are all very comfortable. The views are excellent and I couldn't wish for anything more. The managers are all very nice. I recommend living here, I love it.
I want to take the time to send this review because I think it is important to let people know the difference staff here make to people's lives. Our lovely Mum went into Henley House in 2023. We spent a long time choosing the right place and I have to say that from the moment we walked in we knew this was right for Mum. Mum has dementia and needs dedicated care, every single one of the staff who care for Mum are absolutely fabulous. She is always clean, happy and well cared for. Any difficult problems are handled professionally and caringly. Management run the facility brilliantly and it is beautifully clean. The reception staff are smiley and welcoming. Any family concerns and feelings are considered and we always feel valued. I have no hesitation in recommending Henley House to anyone who has a dear relative who needs deeper care, it is not a 'facility' it is a home as in a place for our loved ones to live in comfort and where we can visit and spend time with them.
Dad unfortunately was only a resident here for just over a week on the dementia floor, my brother and I were very impressed with the care he received until he passed away unexpectedly. We wanted mum to come here initially, for respite care after a lengthy and traumatic stay in hospital where she lost a lot of mobility due to heart failure. We are very happy with the care mum received, especially as the care is complex. Small niggles but we feel confident they get addressed.
I arrived in the summer needing to change from intermittent care. I am now as fully independent as possible and enjoying my life. Thanks especially to the in house staff who make this possible every day. All make me feel as though I'm the only one, kitchen staff make the extra effort to make my diet safe.
Henley House, in my experience is the best care home I have visited. The building its self is very impressive, all the carers and seniors we have encountered, not to mention the cleaning staff have been amazing in the three years my mother in law has been living here. It's hard to find anything to grumble about. Highly recommended care home, in my opinion.
I was lucky enough to be invited to the Xmas Quiz at Henley House and had a lot of fun. I loved the feel of the home, modern, clean and seasonally decorated. The event was very inclusive and laughs and smiles were in abundance.
I recently spent 3 weeks at Henley House for respite care following a fall although I booked for 2 weeks I was so comfortable and restful that I stayed for a further week. The staff were so kind and thoughtful, they need a special mention. I would certainly return to Henley House again.
I had a good reception when arriving at Henley House and quickly felt comfortable. Both staff and residents were ready to smile and introduce themselves. The room was clean and comfortable and felt homely. I enjoyed mealtimes with well-presented food and a good variety of choices. I enjoyed the activities that were available to all with assistance to and from if needed. In all a good fill-in whilst the family were away.
My Mum has been living in Henley House for over a year now. It was really difficult for our family to see our Mum having to leave her home and husband of decades and live elsewhere. However, all the staff have been lovely. Very understanding, patient and compassionate. Everyone goes out of their way to be friendly and welcoming and all take time to make my mum feel cared for. From the cleaners, caretakers, the dining room staff to the carers and seniors. The place is lovely, with bright surroundings and the view is spectacular from Mum's room, it's lovely looking out to see what you can spy in the distant countryside. Medical checks and monitoring are regular. The food is good, with things made on site and always extras on offer like freshly made milkshakes etc which Mum enjoys. The entertainment is good, the mental stimulation has been a real benefit to my mum. Events are organised which satisfy a variety of tastes, there's always something to be involved in if you want to be. Thanks to a great team!
My stay at Henley House for respite was necessitated as my wife, my full-time kara, had to undergo surgery. When it became apparent that my two-week plans to stay were not long enough, my stay was extended for a third week for which we were both very grateful. On arrival, I was immediately made to feel at home. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My ensuite room overlooked the countryside and horse paddocks and bird-watching potential. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and cleaned every day to a high standard. The food was varied and well presented with fresh fruit always available. I was fortunate to have visitors on most days who were always made very welcome by the staff. I would confidently recommend Henley House. It is very professional friendly and safe. I was comfortable and well looked after there. Thank you.
Mum had been struggling at home since my dad died in 2021. I had been her main carer for many years, I had a stroke in 2022 and found it a struggle to care for mum as much as I would like to. Mum had a stay in the hospital and came out with carers but as time went on struggled to do many of her daily living tasks. My sister and I looked at a few care homes in the area and found Henley House by far the best, they didn't have any vacant rooms but we and mum were willing to wait for a vacancy, and one came up. Mum moved in on November 1st 2023. Mum did find it hard at first, going from a big 5 bedroom house into one room, but the care staff, management, housekeepers, kitchen assistants, and even the caretakers were so kind, always found time to chat with mum, the entertainment staff encouraged mum to take part in activities going on in the home, and to our surprise she did. Mum went into the home being pushed in a wheelchair, but within weeks was walking with a walking frame independently.
You looked after my mum for her last 14 months when we couldn’t. You treated her with respect, dignity and love and treated her as one of your family and we as a family will forever be in your debt. Thank you.
Henley House never fails to deliver kindness and compassion. All the staff are lovely, always smiling and happy. Mum has been in Henley House for two and a half years and is very, very happy. The social events are great - so much going on every week. Well done to you all.
I feel so lucky that my parents are being cared for in such a lovely care home. The food is amazing, there are loads of activities put on for the residents. The staff are very caring and approachable. The home is kept very clean and tidy and we as family members always get offered refreshments when visiting. We also enjoy visiting when singers are there, quiz nights, fayres etc.
Mum moved in in January after being sent to another home straight from hospital. That home was truly horrendous. We spent some time looking at various homes for her before we decided on Henley House. She loves her room and private bathroom and is really happy with the care she is receiving. She also enjoys the food she is eating. The activities are various and I am sure she might eventually join in although at the moment she is happy just waving to people as they walk past and saying hello. A really lovely space for her to live and she no longer has the worry of dusting and cleaning her big bedroomed house
During Mum's years living at Henley House, her illness and death and today her final journey from Henley House with refreshments after the funeral, I can only praise and thank all the staff. They are all outstanding in their care and compassion. We are so grateful for how they have looked after Mum and us as a family, Thank you just doesn't cover it. We will always feel welcome if we pop in, even now that Mum has gone. Heartfelt thanks to you all - special shout out to Craig for arranging refreshments after Mum's funeral. Thank you.
The care home is a lovely modern building with plenty of lounges and dining areas which are well used. The individual rooms are a good size and Mum has a door to the garden which she loves. All of the staff are friendly and willing to help both my mum and me. They take time to listen and understand. The meals have been lovely, though I think they are short of a chef at the moment as other staff have stepped in to provide meals a few times, but the meals have still been very good. The staff have helped us to get Mum's own recliner chair into her room and they test all electrical items. There are loads of activities for the residents to join in and Mum loved dancing to the Elvis tribute. They had a lovely Halloween party and are now getting ready for Remembrance Day which will be very meaningful for all the residents. Room cleaning is excellent and care staff are very good. All visitors need to wear masks in the communal areas at the moment which I think is sensible.
I came to visit my cousin and her husband today and received a warm welcome from reception. The lounge/day room was very clean and fabulous decor. Staff were very friendly. I was very impressed with all the facilities and the guest's rooms are very spacious with lots of storage and tastefully decorated.
My parents recently moved into Henley House together. My sister and I reviewed and visited many other homes but none matched Henley House. The building is stunning, very modern, airy and spacious. It sits on the edge of Ipswich and has the most spectacular views across paddocks and farmland. More important than that though are the management and team. Every single person who works at Henley House are caring, kind, respectful and friendly. They have bent over backwards to help our parents settle in. The food is excellent as are all the facilities.
