We moved mum to be closer to the family. After much research, it seemed that Oxbow Manor was the obvious choice, and we have not been disappointed. The first thing you feel is friendship and belonging from the get-go, and all the staff make you feel welcome. Within a day everyone seemed to know her and greeted her everywhere she went, and that level of dedication to care is evident in everything they do. As a family, we are greeted and they engage with us and keep us informed. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The facilities and atmosphere are impressive too. Go to the library, garden or cinema/music room or kick back in the cafe or a TV lounge. Mum loves the hot chocolate. Having a loved one with advanced dementia can be tough but it is so comforting knowing whether we are there or not she is in safe and genuinely caring hands. Thanks to all the staff at Oxbow for what you do, we appreciate you.
Two weeks respite care at Oxbow Manor after breaking my leg was an enormous help and definitely an aid for my recovery. The friendly staff and bright, attractive rooms made my visit truly enjoyable! Nothing was too much trouble and I would like to give special thanks to the maintenance man for his skill in problem solving!
Due to a sudden illness, I admitted my husband into Oxbow Manor for nursing care and respite. It was a difficult decision, and I felt so guilty that I wasn't able to care for him myself. However, I had to put my feelings aside and consider what was best for him. I am so glad I made the decision. The care, the support and the staff were amazing, and I am convinced his journey on the road to recovery was made possible by the excellent treatment he received. I would not hesitate in recommending Oxbow Manor to anyone who find themselves in the same position I found myself in.
This was a very interesting respite experience. The food was especially noteworthy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Facilities were extensive and comfortable. Medication was taken care of in a timely fashion.
What a fabulous environment for mum, a very social person, she loves going to Oxbow Manor for respite weeks. I unequivocally recommend the service and the staff, it is a brilliant place and so welcoming.
Oxbow Manor is a wonderful home. The staff care not only for the residents but the relatives too. Everyone is treated with dignity and compassion. The home itself is beautiful and all rooms having en-suite facilities are wonderful. I cannot commend the staff more highly for the excellent care they provide. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Excellent in every way.
My father has had excellent care since moving from another care home in Shrewsbury. The staff at Oxbow Manor are like one big family. The food is very good having just dined with my father who can sometimes be a little awkward and fussy, nothing is too much trouble to win him over. The activities the home organizes are very good, my father is very happy and has become the joker in the pack. Thank you staff at Oxbow Manor!
Oxbow Manor is the most fantastic care home. Everything is just perfect, the care, activities, food, rooms and attention are exemplary, not only to the residents but also to their wider families. All the staff were so attentive, happy, and welcoming. My Dad was receiving end-of-life care and they supported us all through the whole process. Oxbow Manor made the remaining time my Dad had left as dignified and supported as anyone could ever wish for, they did their utmost to keep Dad smiling and entertained as they could and they truly helped him live his best life. This care home is not just a care home its a 'care' home!
Oxbow Manor was recommended to me, and it didn’t disappoint. When I took my dad to see it, despite me telling him about all that was on offer, he was still very impressed and quite overwhelmed by it all. It felt like a hotel. Dad has now been in residence for nearly five weeks and has settled really well. I have met so many different staff members who all have common themes - pleasant, helpful with nothing too much trouble, and all delivered with a genuine smile. The food is amazing. I joined Dad for Christmas and New Year’s Day lunch - I was stuffed; it was so tasty, plentiful and quite frankly, the brownie was probably one of the best I have ever tasted. I am at total ease with my dad being there despite questioning my decision (with dad’s agreement, of course). If Dad was still in his own home, I would be worried sick. He is looked after, has great food, has no (serious) worries and is joining in most of the activities. Thank you all at Oxbow Manor; keep up the excellent work, and take good care of my dad.
Most of the staff have the attitude "The answer is yes, now what is the question!" It has been a joy to see my wife improve so much since she has been in Oxbow Manor. The best I have seen in the area.
All staff made my mother feel welcome and comfortable. Knowing that my mum is safe and happy means the world to us.
Both myself and my husband have had a very positive experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the interaction with my husband is amazing and he has actually spoken the odd word. I am so pleased with all aspects.
Early days, but after two weeks I do like Oxbow Manor. Indoors it has a visual impact more like a hotel than of a hospital, which is what a care home should do. The rooms are a decent size, pleasantly decorated, and spotlessly clean. The staff have all been very nice, and certainly seem to know what they are doing. There are nice extra touches, like a cinema/bar and comfortable lounges. The food is excellent, good quality and nicely presented.
Oxbow Manor has exceeded my expectations in every aspect from the initial show around to the warm welcome both myself and extended family have received once my husband became a resident in this outstanding home. Words alone are not enough to thank everyone for making us feel safe and secure in such a warm, clean and well-managed environment.
An absolutely lovely home. The fantastic friendly team looked after and loved my mum over her last few months. Nothing was too much trouble and making sure she was comfortable and had plenty to occupy her. Thank you.
This is a really wonderful place. All the team there are so kind and helpful and would do anything to make you feel welcome and looked after. My parents booked in for a couple of weeks of respite and I haven’t seen them as happy and relaxed as they were there for a long time. The place has many great amenities but is still a warm and cosy place to be. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs some tender loving care and wants some quality of life!
Friendly, welcoming place to visit and eat with our friend.
My wife was looking forward to her respite residential care at Oxbow Manor and her expectations were more than fulfilled. The care and the facilities were first class - second to none. Management and staff couldn't have been more kind and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble as far as her stay was concerned. She found staff in particular to be most considerate, friendly and kind. On the whole, everyone at the home was good to her, making her feel like her stay was permanent. She wishes Oxbow Manor every success for the future and looking forward to staying again.
Oxbow Manor Care Home is a beautiful home. All of the staff are so kind, friendly and helpful and the home has a wonderfully calm atmosphere. # The care staff are wonderful with Mum - very experienced in dementia, highly trained and incredibly compassionate. Mum has advanced Alzheimer's and within 24 hours of being there was the most calm, settled and responsive that I have seen in months. The lifestyle coordinators are very gentle, attentive and thoughtful. It is a great relief to have Mum here and I would highly recommend Oxbow Manor - I wish all nursing homes could be like this.
